Commend Me To Thy LadyA lone figure made it's way through the valley. Her hair glimmered and swished in the night breeze, looking almost like a rippling liquid. The woman's face wore a sad expression; her normal mask of despair. In her soft, silk-skinned hands she carried a halberd with a blade made from everlasting ice. It was Abunai, the Ice Halberd. Luckily, the weather tonight was moderately and decently cold; she wouldn't have to worry about a melting blade.
Kokoro stopped in her path to gaze at the moon with solemn, aqua eyes. She despised the sun, always threatening to vanquish her kingdom of ice and snow. She herself couldn't stand warm heat, and if she were placed in blazing temperatures, she would most certainly die. Unlike others, she could withstand almost any level of chill.
There was a snapping, crashing sound from behind her. With gnashing teeth, a snarling wolf glared beadily at her. Turning around, Kokoro sighed. She hated any form of violence, and detested injuring animals, evil or not. With a harsh bark, the wolf charged at her, baring his ivory fangs. With barely any effort, Kokoro raised her right hand. With a white flash, she summoned up her ice barrier, which easily held off the wolf, who was confused at the sudden appearance of the cold, hard substance.
Deprived of his original meal, the creature slunk back into the woods, muttering and rambling in his dog tones. Vanishing the ice wall, she continued on her path through the small patch of woods. Ever since her father, Lord Dozo, had begun to become controlling about who she should take as a mate, she had become less attached to him. Finally, she had gathered the guts to disappear from her city, Sagurachi. Since then, she had been aimlessly wandering the lands, avoiding the south where the weather was certainly hotter and warmer than here. Even now, in what would have normally been perfect weather for any other human, she was limping from heat and exhaustion. Sooner or later, she''d have to return to her northern lands to regain her energy.[/ul]

"You are most deffinately different from any other lass around here." A calm, smooth, and silky voice could be heard from a near by cherry tree. He popped one of the fruits into his mouth, then jumped down. What he found before him was a beautiful young demoness. He raised his eyebrow at her, wondering what he was doing in these lands.
He was, well, in a word, sexy. His eyes were a bright amber color, his skin just on the edge of tan. His hair was long and black, red streaked, hanging around his masculine face, which only held the tiniest bit of feminine touch. His body was slim and lythe. It was the body of a person who did a small amount of physical work, just enough to keep himself fit and good looking. His job was only to take care of the castle. He had a desire to look different from most who shared his job in this world. While most of his rank sat about and ate, ordering others around, he made sure to put in some actual work. It made him favored with the servants.
He walked around the girl, stuying her for a moment before deciding her cute. "How can I help such a pretty young girl such as yourself?" He asked, suddenly grabbing her about the waist and holding her close against him. He was tall, and therefore towered above the female. His other hand wnet to her cheek, as he bent low so that his lips were mere inches from hers. "I am at your service, and under your spell, hime."

Kokoro pulled away from him, her iceblue eyes glittering fiercely. Who was this lecherous man? Her hands tightened on Abunai. She felt a slight breeze stir her hair again. "Hn," she muttered with her melancholy voice. She never used expression in her words; they were always flat and blank. Oftentimes she rarely ever used emotion in anything she did, for she didn't allow herself to attach to anyone. Through all of his masculine glory, she could see an arrogant touch in him.
She kept her somber eyes turned towards the ground as she turned away and continued walking with her back to him. He didn't matter too much to her; just a passing stranger. It seems that everywhere I go, danger in the form of men follows me. Is my beauty truly that entrancing? she thought to herself. She could feel the dusk heat beginning to set in, causing a rosy blush. She could already feel her powers draining. The morning sun was usually her weakness anyways.
She paused to examine a coral hue that cast itself over the aqua sky. Kokoro's attention was temporarily distracted as a few drops of water began to drip from the blade of Abunai. Damn, it's melting... she cursed silently. Making as little movement as possible, she replenished the blade with her fingertips. She could also feel the sheath of Bakemono growing wet; the dagger blade was begining to melt too. She briefly skimmed the sheath to freeze the dagger blade again. She would have to return to her northern lands soon, or else she would risk her life down in these warmer temperatures.[/ul]

"Why is the ice madian down in these lands during the summer? Foolish mistake. Winter would be smarter my dear." An arm wrapped around her shoulder as she walked. Hitoshi wasn't about to let such a challenge go. He would have her begging for his attention, like every other female. Truthfully, he hated the cold. It was a pain, and made everything harder to do. But there was one thing he was sure he would enjoy when winter did decend. Birgantia-hime would enjoy playing it it with the child Rin. Hitoshi did have a small thing for his lady, but would never let it grow, lest his head found it's self detached from his body by his master. Such a cute little craeture the Lady was. Too bad this ice princess wasn't as cute. Too bad she didn't flush at all complements given.
Then, beside the young woman, another Hitoshi appeared. "Yes, very foolish indeed." The other him disapeared and reapeared some ways in front of her, heading no where in particular. One still stood very near the young lady. "You see, I know a safe place for you..." a plan was begining to form in his head. "A place where you could rest until it is cool enough for you to go out again. I don't need women dieing on my master's land. But, I will only show you this place if you do something for me, hime."

Kokoro stopped abruptly and once again pulled her body away from Hitoshi's grasp. She could feel cold water trickling down her hand. Damnit...It's getting a whole lot warmer, she cursed again. "I don't need any assistance, I can get back north without any help," she responded coolly, keeping her gaze averted. Truthfully, she didn't want to go back to those wintery harsh winds for now. In those freezing temperatures, her father would have no trouble tracking her down and therefore taking her back to Sagurachi. Every way she looked at it, she was pinned. Wasn't there any other cold place in this godforsaken land?
Kokoro's piercing gaze turned to the blade of Abunai. It had shrunk noticable now; only half of the original blade remained. I can't transport myself here, it's too warm...I have to decide fast, whether I like it or not, said a small voice in her head. Taking a deep breath, she turned her frosty gaze towards the man again. His face seemed friendly enough, but she couldn't sense if he was lying or not. "What assistance do you recquire?" she said quietly. Perhaps she could be deciding her fate here and now. Either way, she had to keep her wits about her. She didn't like the tone of his voice.
Her smooth hand wiped over the blade again, restoring both Abunai and Bakemono. Nowadays, Kokoro's trust rarely came to anyone these days. She didn't even trust her father, Lord Dozo. She had even left her best friend behind in the North; all because of her father.[/ul]

"I knew you'd warm up to me." he smirked. The red panda was, again, one person. His eyes sparkled with triumph. The sexy man put his hand son his hips, leaning foreward slightly to study her face. Poor thing was really in need of help. Ah well, he was going to help, but he wasn't going to do it for free. He did enough free thigns for his master. Damn man. He wished his old master would come back... Then these lands would not be so barren, and dead.
His amber eyes continued to glitter with mischeif as he finally apporached her, standing directly in front of her. Cold as ice itself. He clicked his tongue, shaking his head. "I ask for one simple thing." He suddenly knelt in front of her, holding her free hand in both of his, he kissed it as a knight does a beautiful woman. "I ask for a kiss from a beautiful hime... This hime, a jewel amongst women... I ask for a kiss from you." His voice was low and soft, his eyes held the truth in his eyes. His truth. That is, he really did want to taste her lips. He against stood, pulling her clsoe. "Do you promise me this hime?"

Kokoro breathed deeply. So this is what it comes down to... she thought to herself. Her pale face contorted in a rare mask of fury. She whipped her hand from his grasp. "I will not be anyone's toy," she murmured icily. With a final, stony glare, she turned away and walked off, ignoring the fact that she was limping again. Stupid sun... After a short distance, she had to use Abunai in it's spear form as a crutch/walking stick. She could barely hold herself up.
Whether she fainted here or not, she vowed that she would never allow that man to touch her like that again. She touched the tip of Abunai again, but this time, the process of restoring the blade drained more of her energy. Damn, I can't keep doing this, or else I'm not going to last long. Besides, if he attacks me at all, I won't be able to summon my barrier, she stammered in her mind.
Kokoro could feel her mind zooming back to her past. "Father, I don't want to!" A tall, regal man stared coldly down at his daughter. "You will do as I say." With a last, teary glare, the girl fled from the room, disappearing into blocks of ice. "She transported to the lower left-corner of our city. Go now, guards. Find her and bring her here." Kokoro shook her head to rid it of the vision.[/ul]

Hitoshi followed her like a puppy dog, waiting for the moment she gave in. "Ah, Hime..." He sighed dreamily. He walked just a few feet behidn her, whilst the other stood a few feet in front of her. He was going to protect her until she gave in. That is what he had decided long ago. He would add this princess to his collection, if it was the last thing he did.
The Hitoshi's began to sing in low, soft voices. The song was one specific to the northern territory. "Did you know the north was where I was born? I was saved from that place a long time ago. Do you knw of the ancient wars? I was born during that time." He commented after his song had finished. The red panda smirked in amusement to himself. He may have been born to snow, but oh how he loathed it.
His fingers twirled a lock of hair around his fingers in boredum. It was one of the red streaks, the color of his hair in his true form.

Kokoro's breathing grew raspy and harsh. Luckily, she had stayed on the border of the Northern Territories, but the Northwest was still warmer than it should have been. She could feel the eyes of the man boring into her. Is he a demon? Stumbling, she tripped on an indentation in the ground. She flung out her left arm to keep her from hitting the ground. She barely had the strength to crawl under the shade of a willow tree. She had left the Abunai on the ground where she had stumbled; she didn't have the strength to carry it.
Panting heavily, she raised her right hand. With a white flash, she summoned a smaller, thinner ice barrier. Whether it would keep her cool or not, she didn't know. It was her last try until her body gave in and she was forced to go with that cursed person. The barrier will keep the cool air in...Hopefully it won't melt as quickly as Abunai and Bakemono did. She could barely think by now. Her fevered, dull eyes turned up to look at the top of her barrier sphere. It was already dripping; her powers were weakening. She couldn't summon a barrier strong enough now.
As her energy was beginning to drain, she felt her face flush and she closed her eyes, trying anything she could to preserve her stamina. Her breaths were short and jagged now. Come on, hang in there...[/ul]

Hitoshi shook his head. Stubborn woman. Well, it looked like it wasn't going anywhere with her. He stretched, then gently tapped the ice barrier, it broke. He picked up the girl and what was left of her weapon. Then, with great speed, he began to run through the valley.
The girl was light. She weighed barely anything. It was amazing how that could be so. He stopped in front of a cave, walking slowly into the darkness. THe red panda could see just fine. He was used to having to see with no light. It was something he did often. He turned his head, causing some dark hair to fall over his shoulder. The continued into the depth of the cave, till it became quite chilly. At this point there was a great cavern. He set the girl down, then began to light lamps with blue flame.
This was the place e had to stay at the begining. Like the young ice woman, he was unable to stand the heat. After a long time of living here, he had gotten used to it, and his abilities changed dramatically.
Hopefully she would wake up some time soon. Besides, it was no fun kissing half dead princesses.

Kokoro could just fainly feel herself being lifted and being carried. A wave of cool air enveloped her, and she could feel her strength flowing back to her. Her eyes fluttered open as she saw she was in a cave. She reached for her halberd. So the man had saved her; how fortunate. She struggled to her feet, still in the process of regaining her strength. Her somber gaze turned to the man. "Why did you help me?" she asked quietly, flexing her hand. In a second, the blade on Abunai was replenished.
She felt almost at home here...The cold, chilly air felt normal. Finally, Kokoro's breathing had returned to it's usual rate. Waiting for his response, she took the time to survey her surroundings. The cave had a few lanterns in it, which he had obviously lit for vision. Pity, I would've liked it in the dark, she added as an afterthought. She couldn't see an entrance to the cave, but she could tell which way to get out. There was only one exit, after all.
Sighing, she drew an imaginary map in her head. If she could skim closer to the colder borders of the North, she wouldn't be in other predicaments like this. If her father threatened to return her to his kingdom, she could always run again. The north couldn't be the only place that was cold and below freezing. After all, there must be caves like this. She could settle down and become undisturbed by the likes of the man.[/ul]

Hitoshi sat in deep thought, his legs crossed, his eyes closed. The red panda did not answer her at first. In fact, he seemed to be ignoring her. Her dakr hair hung about his handsome face, the blue light giving off an erie effect. He had always liked the blue lights in the cave. It reminded him of his home. And so he sat there for what seemed like forever.
When he finally did answer his voice was low and feral. His amber eyes were angry. "You really are a foolish hime." He glared in her direction. He stood up, grabing her arm harshly. He forced her to stand, to look him in the eye. "You do realize you could have died? We do not need a war with the northern country." He hissed. He let go of her, turning his back to her. "The mere fact that you almost did die could cause a war anyway. Baka." he growled, marching to the opposite side of the cave. "Stupid princess. I thought they were begining to teach girls a thing or two about polotics. You have no idea how hard this will make my job. I'll have to report you to Sesshomaru-sama... Our local wild life is upset..." He rubbed his tempels. THis foolish, stubborn female was giving him a headache..

Kokoro was taken aback at his angry tone. Sesshomaru? Who's that? She rubbed her wrist where he had grabbed her. Allowing her gaze to linger on him for a few heartbeats longer before turning away and settling herself in a corner, loosing herself in thoughts. What was he talking about? Besides, she had never really actually said that she was a princess, so how did he know? She hadn't even told him her name yet, and neither had he.
He can't be all that bad if he chose to save me unconditionally...kind of, she thought to herself. She had dropped Abunai when he grabbed her arm, and she didn't even consider picking it back up again. Truth be told, she was slightly frightened at his sudden outburst. She closed her sorrowful eyes. Wrapping her arms around her knees, she rested her head on her legs in a still sitting position.
Hmmph, I despise politics. Politics involve money, and money poisons the mind of men and woman alike. She slowly felt her powers flowing back into her.[/ul]

"Damn, he's not going to be happy about this..." her mumbled to himself, but suddenly a smile came to hsi face... "But I can imagine her reaction.... She would love to meet you, you kow." His tone now softened with the thought of his mistress. "She is and odd hime." He shook his head.
"Now what am I going totell your father. Damn he'll have my neck, that is, he'll have to dig me up after Sesshomaru-sama is done." He groaned, banging his head aginst the rock wall. An idea Suddenly popped into his head. "Maybe I'll talk to Lady Brigantia about it first. She'll be sure to soften him up before hand. Then I'll live!" It wasn't that he was afraid of Sesshomaru, oh no. He thought very little of the boy. No, Hitoshi was dissapointed in himself. When he did his job he did it right. He hated making mistakes. This hime was one of them.
He slowly moved to kneel down before her. "Your father and I are close... Did you know that my dear? During Sesshomaru-sama's father's time, when I was his servant, I had to keep up with things in your country. Little hime..." He reached out, resting his hands on her knees. "Sorry I yelled. But really, There would be trouble if you died... and I would miss your harsh words." he chuckled, resting a hand against her pretty face.

Kokoro let his hand rest on her cheek for a few split seconds before brushing it off with her hand. Keeping her eyes closed, she sighed. "I want nothing to do with my father. If you even think about telling him where I am..." she murmured threateningly. However cool and calm she may be, inside, she was puzzled and confused. Sesshomaru? Brigantia? Who are they? The name Sesshomaru rings a bell...My father might've mentioned him at one point or another. But...I've never heard of Brigantia...
Her thoughts strayed back to her palace in the North and how outraged her father would be if this man told him her location. He would send numerous scouts after her, and she would be forced to flee somewhere else again. Damn...I'm cornered, whichever way I look at it... She hated feeling so helpless like this, letting some flirtatious man decide her future and relying on him as her lifeline. Kokoro could just imagine her father's words now.
"You foolish, impudent little girl! You take all these things in life for granted. Truly my daughter wouldn't be such a baka to act like this!" She flinched, hearing her father's angry voice in her head. She couldn't return to the North, whatever she did. If she didn't, sooner or later he would hunt her down and bring her back anyways. Such is the life of a terribly fated princess... she reflected.[/ul]
