Sesshomaru stopped when Brigantia passed the mirror. As she spoke, inspecting her antanaues he tried his best to hide him humor in her expression and what she was doing. So she didn't remember what she looked like? He frowned a bit, a thought coming to him....
Did she even remember what she was? Did she not know that she was a hanyou? A butterfly? Now that might be bad. There were so many things that he didn't understand about her kind, that if she was hurting, jsut like last time, he wouldn't know how to help her. Including if it was just because of what she was.
Sesshomaru was surprised when she was suddenly taken by pain. But he did not crouch at her side. At that moment he sensed Nero and he turned his head to look at him out of the corner of his eye. Something was odd about the man. Could he not see she was in pain? Why was he just standing there when-?
Suddenly the pain was gone, and she was speaking of new memories. He listned to them as they spoke. She remembered her father. He died in the fire...wait, was that right? Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes, hiding the confused and thoughtful look on his face. Had he not been shown a memory of Epsilon kililng her father?
Nero's statement was not correct. The soldiers did not kill him it was Brigantia herself. So then...what was Nero saying? Did he just come upon her father's remains and assumed it was the soldiers? It was the only thing that came to mind. He did not question what Nero said.
Sesshomaru was brought out of his thoughts when Nero spoke of eating. Even if Sesshomaru was not hungry, he was not going to go to his room and leave her alone with Nero. He was becoming more and more wary of the man.
Sesshomaru stiffened, watching Brigantia run into Nero's arms. He watched them, and listened to what they said, all the same he couldn't move. Anger and hurt struck him hard and he did his best to hide it. Easy enough. Pain was something he was trained to show no emotion of.
Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed dangerously when the kissed was shared. No, no, no, no!! Those were not his to kiss! How could she allow him to kiss her like that?! It was horrible to watch them. Including with Brigantia's stutterings and blushing.
Maybe...he should just go to his room...or the one given to him. He couldn't watch this. This pain was too new to him, and he didn't know how to deal with them very well. A physical wound was easy, but this....it would not heal as a physical wound....
Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes, knowing that he could not go to that room. He could not leave those two alone. It didn't matter if he wasn't hungry, it didn't matter that he couldn't be caught dead eating human food.
Slowly, he followed the two, his narrowed golden orbs staring at there entertwined hands. They came to the room and Sesshomaru sat down, as far away from Nero as possible, but also trying to be close to Brigantia. Maybe he should go back to that room. He couldn't just sit here and not eat....

The foudn was brought and it did look very delicious. Brigantia watched, confused as hurt and jealousy were in the other man's eyes. She stared at the food in front of her for a long moment. Something with in her screamed that she could not eat it. Finally she spoke up. "It all does look very nice... but I can't eat it..." she flushed, staring at her hands in her lap.
Nero stared at her for a long time, confused. "WHy not...?" he was not offended, rahter, he was interested.
"I... I don't know.... I just can't..." She began to shift uncomfortablly in her seat. He offered her anything else, but she hook her head. She had no real clue what she was supposed to eat. Nero began to shift through her memories to find out what it was she could eat. At last he found it. OF COURSE! she was a butterfly! she couldn't eat regular food, it would kill her. He leaned forward and plucked up a flower from the center of the table. He handed it to her. She stared at the flower.
"Thank you?" she wasn't sure why he gave her the flower.
"Let your instincts take you over."
"What?"
"Go on." It made sense now why her lips tasted so delisious. Sweet necter, that is what she tasted like.
She stared about her, lost and confused. After a long minute she brought the flower to her nose, smelling it. Slwoly she lowed it she that her lips were inches from the center. Her tongue slid out of her mouth, and from the tip of her tongue came a very tiny, slim, almost unseen black shaft. This entered the center of the flower, and from it she took the necter. Once this was done, she opened her eyes, bringing her tongue back into her mouth. Her cheeks were flushed. She looked at Nero, who had suddenly got a very naughty idea. She recognized that look in his eyes from somewhere. She suddenly stood up, dropping the flower at the table.
"I'm sorry, I think I need some rest. Please, eat with out me." She bowed slightly, then ran out of the room.
So he and Sesshomaru were left alone. Nero stared at him for a long time. "You and I both know she was the one who killed her fahter. I'm not about to let her know that. But, what you do not realize, is that Brigantia is an entirely a sexual being. Have you ever heard of succumbus?" Nero didn't wait for an answer. "If you have traveled about as I have you would. They are creatures who sleep with men and steal their souls. That is what these butterfly creatures are, but, those who are kind keep their souls. They were ment to bear children, ment to make love to men." The food was taken away, obviously he wasn't about to eat human food either. "Also... If you kill me, you take all of Brigantia's memories to the grave. In the end she could die, because of that. You, the too proud creature I have heard of, will have never studied weak creatures such as our dear little Butterfly. I know all illnesses she could get, I know all complecations she could have, and I know how exactly to comfort her from her nightmares. Oh, she may pretend that she's just fine, that she never hurts... But every night she sees the worst of all life. For a soul trianed to love and feel, it will slowly destroy her. That was a mistake her fool of a human father made. A creature so devoted to memory should never understand emotions." He shook his head.
"In the end, your pride will be her downfall. Your over protectiveness, your decided ways, your hard headed-ness will kill her. Here is where I have the advantage..." He chuckled. The true Nero was being shown. He flickde his long wavy hair over his shoulder, her blue eyes surveying Sesshomaru. "Would you like to know who I really am. He reached up as a spider slowly made it's way to the floor. It sat in his hand for a moment, then it began across the table.
At this same time, there was a web sitting in Birgantia's window. The young woman was crying into her hands. The web began to dance. There a butterfly was caught. A spider made it's way towards the helpless creature. Brigantia jumped up, running to help her fellow creature. Once free from the web, she kissed it, sending it off. Butterflies, you see, are not as helpess as one might think.

Sesshomaru watched Brigantia intently, and Nero warily. He was also confused on why she would not eat, though he realized that he had never seen her eat anything Rin cooked for herself. But soon, the problem was solved and a little light bulb went in his head. Duh! She's a butterfly, what else would she eat except pollen? He made a note to have special servants to take better care of the gardens. Brigantia had said that they weren't taken care of that well.
Sesshomaru watched Brigantia leave the room, his confusion hidden on her sudden departure. Of course, it didn't take long for that feeling to leave as his attention turned to Nero. He stared right back, all the way until he spoke. What he said made his eyes narrow, a glare so frightening that he felt as if Nero's head would explode. Ah, if only he had such power.
So many things Nero said, it made his glare more intense. He was no ordinary man, Sessohomaru had known before but he had given him the benefit of the doubt. He knew that he could not just kill the man and free Brigantia. He had said the memories would go with him. But it could be a bluff. He couldn't take that chance.
It was all Nero's fault. He was the one that started all of this.
Sesshomaru watched Nero as he held the spider and it was brought onto the table. He stared at it with lowered lashes. He flicked his wrist his poison whip appearing and disapearing in the flick of an eye, leaving the spider a chopped up, gooey mess on the table. He stood then, and walked away.
Sesshomaru did not walk toward the hallway where he and Brigantia's rooms were. In fact, he went to the door and left the whole house. He would come back of course. He would not leave Brigantia alone with Nero for long, but he could only guess that she was not going to be wounded.
Sesshomaru really needed to calm his nerves, to untangle his thoughts and what better to do that but with a stroll that he had almost forgotten had been a ritual throughout his life.

This was the perfect chance for Nero! He smirked. How stupid could this white haired man be? He sighed, leaning against the table for a long moment. He still hadn't decided what to do with her after she had sent him away. He could always use her to take out his sexual desires... thats what Butterflies are for anyway. He stood up, dusting himself off. It was time to create his perfect little creature now.
He walked up, into her room, where he found her curled onto the bed, asleep. She looked so peaceful. Her lips were slightly parted, her silvery hair spread around her face. Her skin was a perfect tan. Her body held only one flaw, that scar, to points in her neck. That mark that made her someone elses. Ah well, he would do what he had to. Perhaps he could burn the mark off.
He sighed, brushing her feather textured hair from her soft skin. He leaned down and nuzzled her neck. This caused her to moan slightly and open her large, dark eyes. He kissed her deeply, before she could react. All memories were stripped away, replaced by a life he created for her. Soon enough she stpped struggling. He felt her arms around his neck. She gripped him to her in a way no one else ever had. Who said you couldn't change a heart?
He laughed into the kiss, causing her to pause, her face confused. "Nothing..." he whispered to her. She nodded and let him go. "Change into this." He moved to a dresser where a very fine outfit hung.
She went to it, gasping. "Thank you my love." She breathed out, She let her fingers run over the cloth. It was wonderful, and obvioulsy very expensive.
"Anything for my fiancee." He said witha nod. He moved forward, slowly stripping her old, dirty kimono from her body. She shivered at his touch, but allowed him. His skin was equally flawless every where else. He held her againt him, from bhind. His fingers tracing her curves. Another soft moan escaped her lips. Her kissed her neck. Nero might as well take advantage of the situation, right? He turned her around, kissing her deeply, the beautiful kimono completely forgotten.
"We can't do this... We are not married yet."
"Ah, but we will be. There will be no stopping it."

Sesshomaru knew that there would be risks if he stayed. There was no telling with Nero would...could do to Brigantia. But he also knew that if he stayed, there would be a greater risk. There was nothing he could do for her. He could not protect her. Again. That truth almost hurt more then watching the two together. It was too late. He could not bring back her memory unless Nero gave it back. There was nothing left for him here. Brigantia did not know him anymore. He was only the untalkative man that had walked into her room without even a small knock.
Sesshomaru stopped, finally looking around him. He was at the edge of the village. At it's entrance, his back to it. The village, the house...Brigantia. He couldn't give her up....but he knew that trying to get her back would be worthless time. It was hopeless. Never had he felt pain like this....this....heart break. It was his heart that was being tortured. He was only torturing himself by staying.
So, then....what should he do?
Did he dare leave Brigantia to Nero? He didn't want to, he knew that it would be bad for her, but he didn't want her to die...and this was all to spite him wasn't it? Sesshomaru stood glued tot he spot, not caring of the villagers who walked on the very edge of the dirt road where he stood in the middle.
Sesshomaru turned and began to walk back through the village, but after a few little steps he stopped again. What could he do? Nothing. He could do nothing. He could only go back to torture himself. But wouldn't Brigantia be tortured? Not with her memories of Nero. No, he was not evil in the butterflies eyes. Maybe it would stay that way.
Sesshomaru turned again, back to facing the entrance of the village. Confused villagers trying not to stare enough where he would notice. Of course it did. It would be odd to see a demon like himself almost pacing at that entrance to there village.
"Goodbye Brigantia...." he whispered and walked out of the village before he changed his mind...

It was night when she awoke again. She found next to her a man with a spider shaped scar on his back. She deicately traced it. This man would marry her soon. But, it didn't feel right. She got out of the bed, and found the beautiful kimono. She put it on, decorating her hair with a simple, small pin that went with the elegant dress. In a mirror she found herself to be... beautiful. She had never look like this before. She appeared as a fairy of lore. All she needed were the wings. She giggled, bringing her fingers to her lips.
"You look wonderful." He wraped his arms about her waist. She flushed, looking up towards the man. He was handsome. But, for some reason, everything she remembered about him was hazy. She was loosing those precious memories and she couldn't understand why. She didn't even remember his name anymore.
"Thank you." She whispered.
A day or so went by like this, and she remembered less of her fiance, until he was entirely forgotten. She went to bed one night, unsure of who the man next to her really was. When she awoke the enxt morning, she ha dnothing. She became a scared creature. She pulled the blanket around her and hid in the corner of her bed. Nero could do nothing to entice her out, and could not enter new memorie sinto her head, no matter how hard he pushed them. This worried Nero, not because of her behavior, but because it could completely ruin his plan.
He merely sat next to her holding her shivering body close. Nero was at a complete loss. Perhaps he did not know as much about butterflies as he had bragged to Sesshomaru.
He left her, in time, to go out and buy the things he needed. When he came back, he found his house burning, with Brigantia standing in front of it.
She turned on him, her eyes glinting with anger. Her wings were spread large and wide. They were black and ragged. It was Brigantia... Not Epsilon.... Brigantia.
She walked slowly towards him, the two of them unseen by the people of the village, who hurried to put out the fire.
"He who has destroyed two hearts..." her voice was soft, yet loud, dark yet light. Her hand rested upon his chest now. "I bring you into my realm." They disapeared from this scene only to appear in another.
Here it was a humble home. The only furniture in the room was a chair. Here Nero sat, chained by invisible bonds. In front of him stood the young woman who he thought had been a weak helpless creature. He was begining to understand what made her the reincarnate of all evil. Her large eyes were not so innocent anymore.
Brigantia had been tricked, by an amature more over. This was a great embaressment, that she had allowed him to do these things. She had been so delighted with her fathers grave, the she had let herself be weakened. He had stolen her memories, she merely stole them back.
"You have tortured the wrong person... Or rather, people. He who hurts my master is he who signs his death wish." She ran a finger down his chek, the nail scratching him. He winced. He was absolutely powerless in this realm. "You were consumed by hate and lust. These things are ones downfall. To allow emotions to completely rule you..." she shook her head. "An idiot." A chair appeared a few feet from Nero. She sat down in the chair, her large eyes watching him. "Would you like to feel all I have felt?" she asked in a silky smooth tone. Slowly he shook his head. He could hardly move in this realm.
"Hn, I suppose thats too bad then." She flicked her wrist. In a second he saw millions of memories, felt thousands of emotions, and every single ounce of pain. The next second he was panting, gasping for air, hardly able to speak for the pain that continued to shoot through his body. "You really are an amature if you can not take that much." She sighed. "This won't be as much fun as I thought." He stood again and grabbed one of his hands. he could not pull away. Her fingers slid slowly over his wrist. A sort of acid began to eat menacingly slowly through his skin. The same was done to the other hand. In about what seemed to be half an hour the hands were eaten off by the chemical. "Your screams are bueaitul." she commented. A small knife appeared in her hand.
"I think I shall take whe you treasure most." In a swift second his clothes were gone, as well as a very precious object to any male. She held it in her hand before forcing him to eat it. The knife now found it's way around his chest, cutting deep into his body, scratching against his ribs.
This torture went on and on, until Nero finally died, when Brigantia could not longer hold his soul in place. His body was then cut to pieces, defiling the dead, that was perhaps the worst sin and lack of respect for any person.
She appeared again, an hour later, covered in the blood of that man who she had gotten her revenge from. She lay beneath a tree, completely drained of all her energy.

Sesshomaru had never gone far through those days. He couldn't leave the land in which she now found her home in. In fact, his strolls had taken most of his time. He spent hours walking farther away, only to turn back and return to the border of the village. He would stare at the huts, the villagers, their smiles, their laughter, and he felt the pain again. He would turn and start his stroll over. Walking farther, killing any demon that caught his eye. Weak or naught. It didn't matter. They would know his pain, if for a moment.
Days passed by, and the villagers began stories of a silver haired demon that haunted the lands. He guessed that it was fitting. He would be nothing but a ghost. How long would he haunt these lands? Every day a part of him would tell him he had to leave. That he needed to go back to Rin and Jaken. Just go back to the ways things were. And he had tried every single day, he would walk for miles but the farther he went, the more intense the pain and he had to turn back.
The demon lord barely slept through those days. Barely did anything but walk about as the ghost he even believed he was. But something made him stop one day. The scent of smoke and burning wood came to him. Golden orbs were dull, but he felt no wonder on what was going on. He thought nothing of it, but he didn't move from where he stood.
Slowly he turned his body toward the scent, seeing the smoke hover in the air. He stared at it, the black smoke interesting enough to keep his gaze. But soon that died down, and he turned and walked away. He could see it now. How weak he was. He looked at himself now and thought how pitiful he had become. There was nothing left of him but this hollow carcass. Where a soul had drawn into itself, where the heart had shriveled and died but still was tortured in the after life.
Sesshomaru didn't pay attention to his surroundings any longer. Even if he did he was too far away. He did not know what had happened. He did not know Brigantia had her memories back and now sat against a tree miles away. Even if he was close enough to sense her, it wasn't sure if he would even go to her.
Probably not.

When she awoke she was shivering from cold. Her body felt sticky and she could hardly move. Blood covered her. She looked at her hand, and began to shiver. Her eyes were large, she screamed. Blood... Blood....
She calmed herself. She had to find him. First she would wash herself. She found a stream. She began to watch the blood flow down the stream, from her dress and body, her hair soon washed of that horrid fluid. When she was clean enough, though her once white dress was painted a dark red, it remained elegant, despite such a thing. She had no desire to keep it, but there was no other clothing. She brushed her damp hair behind her ears and went to search for her love.
She pressed her fingers to her heart. Thousands of butterflies surrounded her, then flew away, in search of him. Ten minutes later a butterfly returned. It led her down many deer paths. She ran, barely caring about the scrapes and bruises she had gotten. She was so close, she could feel it.
She came upon a tree, where what was left of Sesshomaru sat. A tiny gasped escaped her.
"Oh... my love... what have I done?" she whispered, running to him and reaching out a hand to touch his face. She need him to look at her. She delicately turned his cheek so that heir eyes met. He looked so empty. Tears began to sspill down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry..." she managed to breathe out. She leaned foreward and kissed his forehead. Her arms slowly wrapped abotu him, as she tried to hold him close. She began to thrumm, in a sad, but loving tone. SOmething she hoped would reach him. Powers of comfort, her aura began to wrap around the two if them. She hoped he might accept her back, that once she was able to give an explanation she would be able to freely love him again.

A scream. Feint, but he had heard it. Such a familiar voice, but he didn't dare, he didn't try to recognize it. Nor did it take long for the scream to be long but forgotten. For the first time since that day when he had left...when he had given up...he had taken a break from walking. His legs felt numb and he sat down staring at nothing in perticular with lowered lashes. His head felt heavy, in fact, his whole body felt like lead.
Sesshomaru stayed like that for a while, letting himself rest for a moment. He sensed another's presence, moving closer to him in a fast pace. He ignored it. He knew who it was, but he didn't want to think over it. What did she want? Just knowing that she was near was making that dead heart ache again.
Soon she was at his side, her touch seeming to burn through his cheek from how cold he had felt. He didn't look at her until she moved his head to look at her. He didn't resist . My love? Did she remember him now? It was easy to see it. The tears that spilled from her eyes. They were for him, no longer was Nero involved....or was he?
Sesshomaru did not move, and no emotion came to him as she kissed his forehead and hugged him. His forehead burned but it was a warmth that was accepted. There was no pain in the way it burned. He lowered his head, her scent surrounding him there was another that mixed in. Very feint but it was there. What was it?
Sesshomaru felt the warmth surround him, overwhelm him but he did not do anything. Did not say anything, and no emotion came to him. He did not know if he was happy or not. She remembered him. But what of Nero? How long would it last until what was given to him was taken away from him again. Just out of reach, but moved further and further....
Brigantia's comforting aura, the thrumming that soothed his ears, it made him tired. Of course, he had been tired this whole time, but it seemed easier to give in to sleep. He did not give in, but he did allow his eyes to close, to just allow her aura to wash over him. If only for this moment.

"I will give youa dream... A dream that may make you happy, but will toture me forever." She whipsered againt his laips. She touched her forehead to his. "Sleep she commanded, a soft lullaby soon gracing her lips. A connection between them was made. Through htis connection she sent a memory, or rather a complete copy.... of that hour she had spent torturing Nero to his death.
"He was part of that man you searched for. I am glad to have be of service to you in some way." She moved so that her head lay against his chest. She closed her eyes, trying to keep tears from her eyes. She was shivering. "Please, forgive my foolishness." she begged him. He may not have been awake, but every thing with in her cried out to his 'dead' heart. He was so cold. Oh how she suddenlt wished she could kill Nero all over again.
She carefully lay her love down, his head resting on her lap. She would do anything she could to make him feel better. Anything at all. She ran her fingers through his hair and over his face. She sent her aura around and into him, anything she could do, that she knew how to do. Her hand drifted to his heart. She also sent some of her auric power there, to wrap around it, to warm it, to comfort him.
She wanted himt o understand, that she never had loved Nero. Despite the memories, she had mistaked a fearful anxiety for love. She had never known Nero and had no desire to know anymore about him. He was merely a spider who had tried to trap her in the web. She had some help, just as that butterfly from that day, many days ago, had help from Brigantia.
Her help had been Sesshomaru, her love for him was what saved her. Tears began to fall again, dripping onto his face. "Gomen nasai, gomen nasai, gomen nasai...." She wiped the tears from his face.

A dream? Sesshomaru couldn't help but wonder on what she was talking about. Something that would make him happy? Not happy per say. He could feel her breath, warm just like the rest of her. Her command made his thoughts blur, and though he fought against it, it was inevitable. He fell to her lullaby, the dream she had spoken of was shocking to him. Though he was a little disappointed that it couldn't have been him to torture that man. That he hadn't been there. But at least the meaning was true. Nero was dead, and Brigantia was his again.
The pain on Nero's face did make him happy. More then he could really understand, the anger and jealousy getting its fill before it was gone. Once the memory was done, the dream was done, Sesshomaru had his normal sleep. Dreamless sleep. But it was a new kind of dreamless sleep. He could hear things. He could hear Brigantia but he could not make out her words.
It was the wet drops that had fallen on his face that woke him. Rain? He slowly opened his eyes as Brigantia wiped the wetness from his face. No, it was tears. He stared up at her for a moment, his whole body heated, and his muscles no longer tense. He was in a new position too. Instead of resting against a tree, he was on the ground with his head on her lap.
Sesshomaru didn't know what to say, or if he should say anything. No, he just stared at her. No longer were her eyes non familiar. She was his and that should be the end of it. It kind of was. He felt better, he felt relieved. Taking in a deep breath he turned his head rubbing his cheek against her stomach. He could smell it now. That scent that had been feint from before.
Sesshomaru could scent it through the cloth. Nero's blood. That scent was just as comforting as the rest of Brigantia. He frowned, staring at the red stained cloth in front of his eyes. He couldn't see anything but red, but that wasn't the problem.
"I should be the one to apologize." he looked at her face from the corner of his eye. He had never admitted something like that, and even now he had been hesitant to state such a thing. Sesshomaru? Apologizing? Hell must be freezing over!

She blinked a couple of times, her tears topping, though her eyes remained watery. As he rubbed his cheek against her stomach, she wanted to giggle. She was extremely ticklish. But somehow, she figured giggling would not be something good in this situation. He was apologizing... for what? What had he done? She smiled, her hand moving to strok the cheek that was not against her stomach. "Ssssh," she placed a finger against his lips. "You don't have to." Though the look in her eyes, the smile that came to her face showed him that she appreciated it, "I do not understand why you apologize to me. You were not at fault here. It was me... and Nero." It was, perhaps, the first time she had ever blamed anyone other than herself for something. She would never blame Sesshomaru, it would be wrong to her. She was his faithful servant, as a woman was supposed to be to her man.
She reached out for his hand, after holding it to her cheek for a moment she set it against her heart. "Do you feel it? My heart will only ever beat for you. No one would be able to take me away from you. Remember this." She smiled sweet;y. "I will only love you." Her smile falltered for a moment. He would beleive her. He had to. And he need not say it, it had always been completely obvious to her. He loved her right back.
They were beyond words. Ah yes, the corny-ness of it all, but it was very true. They would always be connected to each other in someway. She would always care for him, even if one day he had no more interest in her. But, judging by the way she found him, he would always care for her. She hoped it to be so. Her smile brightened again.
She let his hand fall, then, innocently, she placed her fingers against her lips, kissing her fingers, then placed them against his lips.

Sesshomaru stared up at Brigantia, his golden orbs not daring to leave her face. He knew that he didn't have to apologize. But he knew also that he should. Maybe it was for himself. But he had to apologize in his mind. He had not been any help to her. He could not protect her. He couldn't do anything for her. At least he didn't have to explain all that to her.
As she spoke he wanted to disagree with her. He was at fault too. He couldn't put her at blame, just as she couldn't put him at blame. It wasn't her fault that Nero erased her memory. But he could blame it on Nero just fine. They both could. And that was just fine with Sesshomaru. He could put all blame on Nero. Who was dead.
Sesshomaru watched Brigantia as she brough his hand to her chest. He could feel her heartbeat. A calming thump against his skin. He looked back at her face as she spoke. The words were comforting enough. Though she had seemed to fall in love with Nero for a moment. But only because of the memories he fed her. But these were real memories. And she had gotten them back.
Sesshomaru stared up at her, watching her as she kissed her fingers and brought them to his lips. She was so cute. He couldn't help it but to smile against her fingers. To think he had someone like her. He wouldn't trade anything in the world for her. She was priceless, perfect, and his.
Sesshomaru was comfortable where he was, her lap a perfect pillow. Of course, he couldn't help but think of how vulnerable he was in this position. It would take longer to stand, or to be ready for sudden attack. Of course, he did not sense any enemies it was just good to be ready for such things. He frowned suddenly, a thought coming to him.
Nero...he was born just like Kagura, and his purpose was to get at Brigantia. To wound him. It had worked. It had worked perfectly and knowing that it had worked made him all the more pissed off. It had failed in the end, but not because of him.
Sesshomaru had fallen into his trap. What was worse, is that if Nero had been apart of Naraku, and he had done this to get to Sesshomaru, then that meant Naraku knew about Brigantia. That wasn't good. Or maybe Naraku didn't know, and had just assigned Nero to kill Sesshomaru and had seen him with Brigantia and took his chance.
((gah! I'm sorry, Sesshomaru's not being cooperative today! I want him to talk more, or at least say something so that you could post better. DX))

She smiled, cocking her head to one side and closing her eyes. Something most child-sh/cute anime characters do in such situations. Her true smile which was only ever shown to him, not even Nero had gotten a chance to see it. That smile belonged to Sesshomaru, along withthe rest of her body. She watched him for a moment, then saw the frown. She too frowned. "What is wrong my love?" she asked in a curious, yet worried voice. Her fingers brushing her hair behind her ears. Her fingers then continued to dance through his hair, her fingers continually stringing her own sort of personal magic into his hair, something that would comfort him, even when she wasn't around. All he really had to do to activate this magic was get upset.
She smiled again, a kind, fake smile, but a smile none the less. She remained calm in most situations. It was her nature. Of course, if she became afraid, she would run away. But, when she was around Sesshomaru she felt as if she would never have to run away from anything. He would always care for her, protect her. In return she would do all that she could. Distract and take care of Rin, do as much physicla work as she could, find faint scents that even her master could not.... Love her master uncondistionally. Those were the only things she could think of for now. Perhaps later she could think of some more.

Sesshomaru stared up at Brigantia, realizing that his frown had brought up her worry. It was the only thing he was able to think about. This plot, probably made by none other then Naraku. Another reason to kill the bastard. It was the point that this could happen again. If Naraku knew how much of a weakness she was...Of course, he was annoyed with himself to allow Brigantia to turn him into that wandering ghost. It wasn't her fault per say, but to know that she could do that....
Sesshomaru knew that Naraku would have a lot of fun when using Brigantia to get rid of the demon lord. It would be so easy...so affective, he knew. Brigantia would be his down fall. But he had to believe that she could take care of herself. She did have that power, though most of the time she seemed weak and helpless what she did with Nero proved otherwise.
If she got kidnapped by Naraku, would she be able to escape? Would he be left helpless with no way of helping her? Such things were buzzing in his mind, drowning out any other thoughts. and it was annoying. He shook his head, both to rid himself of the thoughts and to answer to her question. "It is nothing." of course, he knew that was a lie, but it was a more of not wanting to talk about it. Only he needed to worry over what he thought, and she did not need to ponder over it.
It was easier then he thought, to stop thinking on Naraku. Most helpful was the way she combed through his hair. Most distracting.
