A Sincere Promise

The area was changing or at least the smell. Taraye had lost Naraku's scent, yet it was replaced with another half demon's. The scent was somehow... familiar. The trees branches rustled in the wind. 'Could it be?' ' Might this be the forest they call the forest of Inuyasha?' Vonta whispered. 'It might be my brother.' Navot replied.
Taraye continued on only for a few steps when she came upon the tree. A Tree of Ages, it seemed so grand compared to the other trees here. 'That scent ... its strong here.'Taraye thought, then aloud said "Could this be the same scent of the half demon I saw long ago?" Though Taraye was demon in body, but her mind was like a human (only when she thought about a certain half dog demon)and months seem to pass by like years. ' It was only a several months ago.' Navot noted.

Taraye's memory:(Taraye breathed in deeply. Nothing was out there. Then she let out a sigh of relief. 'Wait! What was that?’ She sensed it, but to make sure she sniffed the air. ‘‘A half demon! It has to be.’ Taraye posed herself to challenge what was coming, yet she didn’t draw her swords. Within a minute he was there, then gone. He was fast, but Taraye had saw him as if he was walking pass her, not seeing her as if his mind was else where. His hair as white as snow, his ear so fluffy, his eyes the color of gold, his red fire rat suit stood out to her, and his grace just as a unicorn. Taraye never saw such a hansom half demon before. If it was not for her own free will her instinct would have ordered her to kill the half demon, just for sport. She began to feel a feeling that she never experienced before. ‘Taraye’ Vonta spoke, ‘shouldn’t we go after him?’ ‘No, no Vonta, were going to train some more.’ she thought. ‘As you wish,’ Vonta replied. It would be difficult to find him again, besides that feeling stayed with her and it never did seem to go away.)

Taraye came up to the Tree of Ages. She lightly sniffed it . His scent was drenched upon the bark and his image flashed in her mind. Her feeling she experienced sometime ago had resurfaced. She gently stroke the spot where he was pinned to the tree. The gentleness seemed to surface on her face. " Did they say that the forest was named after the half demon pinned to this tree?" Taraye asked. Navot seem to be pondering for a moment then he replied, 'Yes , my lady I believe so." "Inuyasha ..." Taraye whispered as she rested her hand on the bark , then she spoke it out loud "... Inuyasha."

[Lord Sesshomaru]

"What?" the said hanyou asked in annoyance. He had just gotten into another fight with Kagome. Something stupid, again! It seemed that only he suffered as she left once again, into her own time. With her gone he had too much time to himself. Normally he would mope on his favorite tree near the village. But today he decided to just mope by stomping around on his bare feet, his arms crossed over his chest. Every once in a while his ears would twitch until he had heard his name being heard as he had made his way to the tree. The one he had been pinned to a year or two ago. For fifty years. He had not known what it was about the tree that had made him come here, but it was rather annoying to come here and hear some random girl saying his name.

Something that annoyed him. What, did she somehow know him? Did she just expect him to appear out of thin air because she said his name? If so, she had expected correctly. Although he found it stupid she would do such a thing. He didn't even know who the hell she was, just calling out his name like that! It was annoying. Maybe it would have only just been confusing and curious, but because of his bad mood he had to be difficult today. To make sure his emotions stayed on annoyance and nothing else.

Taraye was deep in thought to hear anything going on around her . It would seem like a dream if she ever saw him again. Then Taryae let out a sigh. "Who am i kidding, he is probably wandering the lands without a care in the world." Her hand slid off the bark. Vonta started to shake slightly, 'My lady...' Navot jumped in, 'Maybe you should ask the villagers about this half demon, maybe they may know where he is!'
"I would never consider it Navot! Besides I wouldn't deal with humans who are more likely to attack me." Taraye snapped. Vonta shook harder 'My lady!' Taraye glanced down at Vonta, 'What?' 'A half demon, my lady.' Vonta replied, a little frustrated. Taraye turn on her heels Vonta half drawn, inspecting it to be Naraku. Her eyes fell upon a half demon alright, but not Naraku. It was the one whom she remembered so many months ago. It was Him!

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Inuyasha couldn't believe what he was hearing. Had she completely ignore him? He had already said 'what' for her saying his name. And now she was talking not a care in the world, and something about the town. Was the girl deaf. Even so, it seemed that she was being awakened from whatever dream world as she turned to look at him. The look on her face was priceless. But he was too much in a bad mood to find it humorous enough to laugh or even smile. "You said my name." he stated, furrowing his brows as he walked a bit toward her, his arms still crossed.

"What do you want?"

For a moment she was shocked, then realization came back. He was just as she remembered him. Taraye hid her emotion with a stern look. 'Careful my lady, you wouldn't want to get in a fight with him since he looks mad enough.' Navot muttered. ''So, your Inuyasha.'' Taraye searched his golden eyes, ''I wasn't expecting you." She placed the half drawn Vonta in his sheath to show Inuyasha she was no threat. Inuyasha's expression was hard, but that seemed to fan the feeling that was just a small flame which began to make it grow. If this feeling was a sickness, then Taraye had caught a bad case of it. Navot chuckled, 'Got his name, now get where he lives.' 'Shut it Navot ! Can't you see we can get in a fight with this guy at any moment!' Vonta snapped at his brother. Taraye ignored the shaking swords, it was best if she didn't listen to personal fights between them. Tayae continued on, "I heard you were searching for the Jewel shards."

Inuyasha didn't say anything. Although he had more of an urge to ask her questions about why she knew him. Why she had been talking, or thinking about him. He didn't like it. It felt wierd knowing some random girl was thinking, or randomly talking to herself about him.

Inuyasha found her last comment rather curious, and this time it showed a little over the annoyance. But even so, it wasn't completely gone yet. "Yeah, what of it?" he asked. She wouldn't be happening to try and find him to give him her jewel shards was she? It had happened before, just recently. An injured priestess coming to him and giving him her jewel shards. It was the easiest gain of shards he had ever had.

Maybe that was what she was here for. With such thoughts of maybe getting his hands on more jewel shards he allowed his glare to tone down a bit and his crossed arms slide to his side.

He seemed less tense now since she motioned the Jewel Shards. Now that Taraye knew she had Inuyasha's attention, she continued on. "Any shard that I will get in my possession you may have, but might I ask why your collecting them?" 'That might sting.' Navot muttered. 'Why?' Vonta replied, 'She has a right to know.'

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Inuyasha had been happy for a moment. Yay, free jewel shards! Although that little celebration in his mind was brought to an end when she wanted to know why he was collecting them. He shouldn't have to explain himself to her! This was dumb, he didn't want to do this. But he needed the jewel shards. Finally he gave in, but since he had he was back to being aggrivated, his arms being crossed once again.

To make sure Naraku doesn't get them," he began, practically counting his reasons in his head. "and so I can be a full demon," huh, two. He thought there would be more to it. Of course, the jewel shards were the best lead to Naraku. The more they had, the closer they were to the evil hanyou.

Taraye arched an eyebrow. "Naraku." She growled. Navot seemed to freak out, 'Don't get excited about it my lady, he said that the jewel shard would lead him to that poor excuse of a demon which means he doesn't know where that half demon is eheheh...' 'And,'Vonta continued on for his brother, 'he was going to become a full demon.' Slowly Taraye stopped then asked"What is wrong with being half?" 'Wait he didn't say that.' Vonta muttered. Navot chirped, ' Well I think that is what he ment to say.'

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Well, she seemed to also have a hatrid for Naraku. That was good. But what bothered him was what she asked him. Why did she have to ask that? It was none of her business. He didn't see why he had to answer the question. Sure, there was nothing wrong with being half. But there was nothing wrong with wanting to be a full demon either. Becoming a full demon meant he would be stronger. He wouldn't be discriminated against. He had always had the dream of becoming a full demon. Kikyo had wanted him to become human. Kagome wanted him to stay the same. It didn't matter though. This was his dream and he wouldn't change it for anything.

"Nothing. It's none of your business why." he was getting defensive. And although she didn't ask why, he guessed that would be the next question.

Inuyasha seemed touchy about being half demon, but it was him being half that caught her eye, and she was a full demon. 'Inuyasha why change your self?' she thought, 'I like you how you are now.' "At what price would you change yourself. I've seen half demons who fulfilled in that dream, but became mindless monsters. I know cause my father had me slay them...'' she look sadly at her hands and muttered, ''... and don't I regret it."

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Oh, yeah, sure. Full demon, becoming monsters. Well, he wouldn't become like that because he was stronger then all those stupid half demons. He didn't understand why full demons didn't become monsters, but when half demons changed they turned like that. It would be different for him.

Even though every time he did change into a full demon he lost all control and killed people. He would stay on this dream of his. No matter what. He was too stubborn.

"It won't be like that for me."

[taraye]

"It won't be like that for me." Inuyasha said.

Taraye could't help it, even for being a full demon, painful memories flashed in her mind, memories of the countless half demons that were and were not monsters being slaughtered by her due to her father comannding her to do it cause it was a sport for him, and she began to tear up.

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Oh great. He made her cry. Why? He didn't even say anything that could make her cry! Ugh, why did this have to happen to him? "Stop it! Stop crying!" he said, almost freaking out. He wasn't used to it at all, and he didn't know how to deal with it.

"You shouldn't cry, its none of your business so you shouldn't have any reason to cry."

[taraye]

Taraye quickly turned away. 'Oh great...he sees you crying... your nothing but a weak demon.'Taraye thought to herself.'You should tell him 'its not that, it just me'.' Navot muttered.'Shut your mouth Navot! 'Vonta snapped, 'We don't need to be involved with her emotions, unless she asks for our assistance.' "I'm sorry... its just..."Taraye whipsered,"...my memories are just too painful." 'Oh you cry baby! He probably doesn't care! Just finish your promise and leave!' she snapped at herself. She wiped a way any tears that had just began and used her stern voice,"I will give you your shards in time as I had promised." 'And your name.' Vonta told her, 'Don't leave without letting him know who you are!' But instead, Taraye waited for Inuyasha to reply.
