It seemed her asking him questions was getting on his nerves. Good. For some reason, she liked the idea of getting under his skin in such a way. She wanted to irritate him, to force him out of usual pattern of silence –for it seemed that that was the norm. And in a way, she used that to push herself past her comfort zone. Past the walls and safeguards she had built up around herself in order to not only further irritate this tai youkai, but to stimulate her own bored mind.
“I see…So, you’re companions- as I’m sure you can’t possibly travel alone? It’s improper for a lord…particularly if he's as spoiled and rude as you seem to be-I mean, for heavens sake you can't even form two decent sentences!-. You’re companions would dislike my presence, then?” She smirked as she spoke, knowing that her jibe would either irritate him further or he wouldn’t care at all. Why she was so bent on getting a reaction out of him, she didn’t know, and why she disliked the idea that she wouldn’t be good enough to be seen with him was another thing she didn’t understand. Why did she care? Shoving the thought from her mind, she waited for whatever answer might come next.

Sesshomaru scowled when the demoness began to babble. She was talking way too much. Spoiled and rude? Was that what she called him? Sesshomaru didn't mind her calling him rude. For he kenw that he could be at times. And he normally was. For he only spoke to the point and nothing more. No comforting words had ever left his mouth. Not even when Rin would wake up with nightmares. No please, no thank you. No 'I'm sorry'. He did not need these things. It was not in his vocabulary for they were pointless words.
But to call him spoiled. Sesshomaru had worked hard to get what he has. He had all the western lands and own the castle known as the house of the moon. He had fought in wars many a times to keep his land safe. For who was she to call him spoiled when he did many things to stay on top? He let out a low growl in anger. Rumbling in his chest as he turned his head away from the demoness. In which he didn't know the name of. And didn't care.
"They are no companions of mine." he said with a scoff. "I have no need of such." Sesshomaru frowned, barely a movement in his mouth, but a frown. He had just formed two sentences for the wench! She was making him angrier and angrier and it showed more and more each time.

Flora smirked when her remarks had the effect that she wanted. She was making him angry, and the comment about being spoiled had hit its mark. Truthfully, she knew of his reputation and all the things that he had done. It hadn’t exactly been a lie when she had said she neither knew nor cared who he was, because at the time she hadn’t known and she didn’t care. But she did know now. And, to a small extent, was impressed by his reputation. Not that she would let him know it.
“Oh? The great Lord Sesshoumaru has no friends, then? What a pity. Though I can see why. It’s no fun having a one-sided conversation, you know. “She said easily, ignoring the fact that he obviously would prefer it if she shut up and left him alone. She wasn’t going to do that..For the first time she was having fun..even if it was at someone else’s expense.

Sesshomaru glanced at the demoness from the corner of his golden eyes as she spoke. Grinding his teeth together his mouth was set in a grim line and his eyes narrowed in more resentment then one. She was getting too ahead of herself. Who said he wanted friends!? He didn't have friends and didn't need them. And there were many a times when people speaking to him had only a one sided conversation. Including Jaken. The little imp was only a servant that did his bidding. Then there was Rin who he had taken care of even though he knew not why.
Who was this girl to get all in his business when she knew nothing about him? Actually no one knew about him. The only one that seemed to get close was Rin. And that was only because she knew when to shut up. Jaken, who had been with him for three hundred years should have figured to keep quiet after all that time.
Sesshomaru fisted his hand at his side. The sudden movement made his knuckles crack. Finally, when it seemed that Sesshomaru had chained up his emotions enough, he glanced at the demoness with a calm expression and replied to her words.
"Like I said, I don't need as such," and, really, would you call this a one sided conversation. He was talking more then normal. More than he had ever before in his life. Though it was a barely a few sentences it was enough, wasn't it? This demoness was asking much of him. More then she seemed to realize. She was asking him to speak more then usual. To converse with her when he normally wouldn't with any other.
And Sesshomaru was actually giving her what she wanted. What was wrong with him? Sesshomaru walked a little aways from the demoness. His back turned to her, Sesshomaru rubbed his cheek against the furry pelt wrapped around his shoulder. The light caress calming him a bit. He was tired of standing here.
For the first time Sesshomaru actually couldn't wait to contiue the search for Naraku with Jaken and Rin. With the normal constant stops for Rin to get something to eat. Probably stop at a river for her to catch fish. And she would force Jaken to join in too.
Sesshomaru closed his eyes and turned his back toward a large oak tree before he gracefully sat down. One knee propped up and the other lying on the ground. His hand was placed over his knee and he kept his eyes closed for a few moments. Wondering if he opened them, the demoness would dissapear, but when he opened them and glanced to where the demoness stood...she was still there.
What was the point? He could still sense her aura. He knew she was there. And she couldn't just dissapear. That would be illogical.

Part of Flora reveled in the fact that she was irritating the tai youkai into speaking to her, while another part rebelled at it. She had never been overly social, yet when she had had a group of friends they had all talked and laughed together comfortably. She found herself missing it suddenly, and she supposed she was using the demon to soften the ache a bit. She really had locked herself away from the world, and now it was almost as if this dog demon were the key to those locks. Not that she even acknowledged the truth of that to herself.
She was lonely. Had been for some time. She was still sad for her loss all those years ago, but..It was more than that now, and less. Her grief wasn’t as sharp, as cutting, and she was more than ready to find ways to live again, things to do. Plans that had simply stopped at Tynon’s death would have to be picked up again..Somehow. With the thought, a sudden weariness overtook her for a moment. She was so tired of pushing the world out of her thoughts, of hiding behind her sniping manner, making sure that those she did come in contact with didn’t want much to do with her.
And for some reason, she especially wanted this demon to accept her presence. Which meant it was time to stop poking at him. Sighing a little, she tilted her head slightly as she heard the crack of his knuckles and watched as he moved away. Violet eyes fixed on him with the same intent expression, but the malicious light had died out of them. She simply didn’t have the will for it right now. “If you say so, Lord Sesshoumaru.”
Her tone was polite, a little distant, but it was no longer an attempt to provoke him. She was thinking, letting her mind work on its own, drifting off on a wave of her own thoughts and confusing and muddled emotions. Did she want friends again? People to be close to? Someone else she might lose? No! But she needed companionship, compassion...all the things that she had lost or tossed away as if they meant nothing. Those things were important to the demoness whether she admitted it or not. The question was, though, where could she find those things?

Sesshomaru wondered if he really should leave. Maybe go to his half-brother and his wench. Who cares if they saw the demoness? But he knew he didn't want Inuyasha with his big mouth rambling on about stuff that he couldn't comphrehand. It would be best suited to go on his own without this demoness who seemed to get a nack from being an annoyance. Sesshomaru leaned his head back against the bark of the tree. Staring up at the blue sky above the tree's branches. White puffs of clouds drifting away on the wind.
Sesshomaru was set on paying more attention to a small cloud that looked like a dragon, then the demoness herself. But he was able to catch on what she said. Sesshomaru turned a surprised look toward her. No rude comments about his person. Nothing.
It was so surprisign that he actually waited for her to back up her other words. But she continued to say nothing. He could have sighed in relief. But he didn't. His face was set in a stoic expression. Nothing showing.
But it was still strange to him that she had not said anything more. Finally, coming to the conclusion that she really wasn't going to say something more he turned his attention back to the cloud. But it had lost it's dragon shape and now looked like a headless rabbit.
"Shouldn't you go back to your companion?" he asked her after the silence became longer then a minute. He still wanted her to leave. Even if she was silent he could still sense her. And, with his question he knew that she traveled with another. For, as a dog demon, Sesshomaru's sense of smell was amazing. And the scent wasn't just her own.
(I wanna bring Jaken in, but he's still with Kagome and Inuyasha. But after Inuyasha posts he'll probably come to Sesshomaru anyway...)

((Lol, same here. I kinda wanna bring in Fauna, but I’m not going to yet. Might soon, though..just for the contrast.Probably have Flora get irritated and blow up something before I bring her in, since Fauna is generally the more peaceful, calming presence XD...o_0 wouldn't it be funny if Flora tried to blow up Jaken?hehe))
Flora knew that her lack of further comments had surprised the tai youkai. He probably had expected her to continue on with her cruel comments and taunting, but she had had enough of it. She was no longer amused by it, and simply didn’t have the energy to work up insults at the moment. Her heart felt heavy, leaden…and she just wanted some peace. For a demon such as she was; a demon of the darkest shadows and deepest wells of nothingness this would surely seem a strange emotion but…Flora had never been predictable. She did have a slightly softer side, a part of herself that was bruised and battered, that was simply too tired to defend itself.
Closing her eyes, she rested her head back against the tree trunk and just breathed. The air was crisp and clean. Fresh. Natural. She was content in this place, where there was no smell of blood or corruption or pain. She had grown so accustomed to the bleakness of her own world, and now that she was finally emerging from the cocoon…and was captivated by the first demon that attracted her interest. A sneer twisted her lips for a moment, but died away quickly as the thought passed.
Hearing Sesshoumaru speak she returned her gaze to him, head tilting slightly so that a long spill of black silk slid over her face, blocking most of it from view. Pushing it back, she shrugged elegantly. “No. “She answered simply, choosing not to elaborate on her answer. If he asked, she just might, but until then..She wasn’t going to give out any more information than that, in the same way that she hadn’t offered his name despite the fact that he had given his own in a fit of temper. She wasn’t the type to volunteer information, but waited to be asked.

Sesshomaru stared at the demoness as she replied. No, she says. Well, that suited him just fine. Though he did wish that she did need to return to her companion. But that the most he had spoken without being provoked or asked a question. It had been him to break the silence and he didn’t like it one bit.
“Hn.” Was his only reply. This time he wouldn’t break the silence. This time he would just ignore her, and she would go away. Somehow. He had no idea on why she still stayed. This demoness should have already left. Yes, he was popular with the opposite gender but this was different.
((I’m going to bring Jaken in. Yay!))
Jaken had finally walked off and away from Inuyasha and his wench. Who was strangely kind…but that didn’t matter! He continued to walk as fast as his little legs could carry him. The staff of two heads still in his grasp. He had tripped on a few occasions but stayed in the path he knew his lord had taken. Finally, he came to a clearing.
“Lord Sesshomaru!!” he called as his lord came into view. He noticed how peaceful his lord looked. What, with actually sitting down against a tree. Didn’t happen often until nightfall. He hesitated before running forward and bowing low to his lord.
“Please forgive this lowly servant, for I have lost Rin!” he informed his lords, his body shaking in fear of what his punishment might be.
Sesshomaru was relaxing in the silence that had surrounded the area. The demoness had given up on talking. Good. He was about to close his eyes when a familiar scent and aura hit him head on. He lowered his head and let out an annoyed growl as his name was yelled to the entire world by none other then Jaken. Sesshomaru turned his head toward the small imp demon with an annoyed look on his face. Soon…he was going to lose it. He was surprised he kept his sanity for so long.
Sesshomaru kept his calm expression as Jaken bowed before him like her normally did. But when the words left Jaken’s mouth, Sesshomaru stiffened. His eyes narrowed and his mouth was set in a grim line.
With the speed of lightning Sesshomaru snatched the two head staff and bonked Jaken on the top of the head with such force that he made a small crater in the ground. Sesshomaru knew he would live. Even if he would have a few back pains…or a lot.
Sesshomaru growled loudly in irritation. Of course Jaken lost Rin!! He always did! Sesshomaru trusted Ah-Un to watch Rin more then Jaken. He sighed and lifted himself off the ground, dropping Jintojo on the ground. He walked forward and a top Jaken who let out a gurgling noise then turned and began to walk away.
Either forgetting, or ignoring the demoness that was still in the clearing…

Relaxing, Flora let her awareness of the world gradually slide. It seemed for a time that she would merely doze, but...soon enough images began to tumble into her peaceful thoughts, distracting her, bothering her. Thus, she forced herself back to attention just in time to see the imp demon approach. Brow lifted in an elegant show of curiosity as the being approached Sesshoumaru, bowing and scraping and squawking in a highly annoying voice. He had lost someone? A Rin? Who was Rin? Ah, well…It didn’t matter. Intrigued, she watched Sesshoumaru’s violent reaction. Apparently this Rin was someone important, and this...creature had lost her.
Straightening, she stepped toward the crater that the imp still resided in, and studied him with darkly amused eyes. “Poor pathetic imp. Lost Sesshoumaru’s little friend did you? Not a very smart move, I ‘d bet. “she spoke in a silky tone, slightly mocking. It was the way she always spoke to others-except Fauna and more recently Sesshoumaru- and the way she regarded those she considered beneath her. But..This imp might provide her with information.

((Yay!! I got to hit Jaken over the head!!...Actually, I'm more violent then the normal Sesshomaru...ah well))
Jaken groaned in pain and finally popped his head from the crater that he was slightly stuck in. He sighed but stiffened when he heard another. A female's voice entered his ears and her jumped to his feet. Eyes swelling in tears when a gruesom crack from his back echoed through the clearing. He closed his eyes and shook his head to get rid of the pain before opening them again and glaring at the, what it seemed was a demoness. Who thought she knew his lord! Who was she anyway!?
"This is none of your business!! Wench, how dare you act as if you know my lord!!!" he stomped his feet in anger and his small little hands were fisted at his side.
Sesshomaru left the clearing but stopped when he heard the demoness speak to Jaken. So, was she back to mocking and critisizing people? It seemed so. Well, at least she would annoy Jaken instead of himself. He continued to walk and came across Rin's scent nearby. He quickened his pace just in case there was any danger. Soon, he came to a clearing...the clearing that he had left Rin and Jaken. Rin was lying against Ah-Un. Sleeping like she had no care in the world. He blinked. Did Jaken lose Rin or not?
Sesshomaru sighed. Yes, Jaken had lost something. Maybe his sense of direction! Sesshomaru growled lowly. Making sure no one could hear him before he stomped back to where he came...
When he got his hands on Jaken....

Flora laughed softly, the sound mocking and unkindly edged, but somehow soft and sweet at the same time. A bundle of contradictions...Yes, that was the perfect way to describe this demon of darkness. Watching the demon’s irate expression, she smirked lightly and responded coldly. “Perhaps it is none of my business, but it’s somewhat hard not to notice an ugly little demon such as you being pummeled into the ground. And whether or not I know your lord is not the issue. I merely wondered if you’re half-witted or if your ‘dear lord’ has hit you one too many times upon the head?” It was cruel, but she was in a cruel mood. This imp’s voice gave her a bit of a headache honestly, and for some reason the calm that had descended in the quiet of Sesshoumaru’s presence had disappeared.

Jaken continued to glare at the demoness in front of him. She gave him an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach, but he wasn't going to let her know that. How dare this demoness to say sich things about him! About his lord no less!!
Jaken gasped when her heard her words. Half-witted?! She did not mean his lord did she!? He stuttered. Never had he been in the presence of anyone that dared say such things about Lord Sesshomaru! His lord! The one he swore to serve the rest of his life!!
He growled and snatched up jintojo that still lay on the ground and pointed the old mans face straight at her. His eyes were filled with fire and he had never been filled with such intense anger.
"I'll show you, worthless wench!!" he spat before sending the power of the Jintojo to be unleashed. The old man cackled and his mouth opened in a grin. A blast of fire unleashed from it's mouth and was aimed straight for the demoness. Jaken smirked. Thinking he had gotten her.
Of course he would think that. And of course, it wouldn't be correct.
Sesshomaru entered the clearing with a calm and emotionless state. He stopped from the sight that welcomed him. No, he had not thought that Jaken would use the jintojo on the demoness. And no, he did not care if he did or not. Why should he get in the way. He would let out his anger on Jaken later and decided to watchi in silence for the time being. Amusement flickered in his golden orbs.
Yes, Jaken was easilt angered. Maybe more so then Inuyasha. And more foolish.

Flora knew that her words had, once again, hit the intended mark. Smirking, her violet eyes fixed onto the imp with a malicious intent. It felt so good to fight with someone again…To dredge up anger and resentment with such ease. It was like a drug to her at times like this; the irritation of others. And yet...if that was so...Why had she relented from harassing Sesshoumaru? It made no sense to her.
Brow lifted elegantly as he snatched up the Jintojo, eyes narrowing thoughtfully as she watched him aim it in her direction. As the blast of fire came in her direction, she tilted her head slightly and merely deflected it. But her calm, stoic demeanor had disappeared. The ruthless warrior had come to the fore. Eyes darkened to the point of total blackness, a swirling and dark energy gathering around her fingers, arcing from fingertip to fingertip. She drew her hand back, ready to strike….
Only to have her wrist grabbed from behind. Fauna exerted the gentlest of pressure’s upon her twin’s wrist as she appeared, suddenly and without warning. Cool fingers deftly avoided the sparking energy, knowing from experience that it would likely be painful to touch. “Don’t do it, Flora. “she spoke in gentle tones, her silvery eyes gleaming with their usual gentle expression. Her gaze moved beyond her sister and to the imp, one long platinum curl falling down across her shoulder. “Don’t waste your energy on the imp. The tai youkai would be a far less pathetic opponent…. If you even intend to fight him.”
With a snarl, Flora flung her arm free of Fauna’s grip. Flicking her wrist, a bolt of black lightning arced into the nearest tree, scorching it quickly. Smoke twisted up from the scorched grass, writhing and twisting and filling the air with a burnt tar smell. Fauna sighed softly, waving her hand, and the damage merely disappeared. “That’s enough. The dog demon’s come back.”
And then suddenly both pairs of eyes were fixed on Sesshoumaru as if Jaken wasn’t there; one silvery and pale, and the other dark and turbulent.

Jaken squeaked in surprise and fear as the demoness deflected the attack of Jintojo. Of course, that was the only course of attack he had. And to see that it was no use, highly freaked the little imp demon out. He shivered as the demoness was planning to attack him when another stopped her. He gasped in surprise to see another demoness beside the other. They looked so alike, and yet so different that it confused the little imp demon.
He jumped a foot of the ground and let out a little yell when the demoness hit a nearby tree. That could have been him!!! He ran as fast as the little imp demon could behind his lord. Yes, his lord would protect him! But oh, was he wrong...
Sesshomaru watched in amusement and sudden intrgue as the demoness planned to attack Jaken. He just hoped she didn't kill him. Then who would make the fires for Rin when it got dark? Who would entertain her? Certainly not him. That was unheard of! Sesshomaru watched in surprise as another demoness appeared and stopped the others attack. This new demoness had a familiar scent to her. And was only familiar because he had scent her on the first demoness. So this was her companion...
Sesshomaru watched with hidden interest as the demoness, with the dark ebony hair changed the direction of her attack onto a nearby tree. He was impressed...for highly a second. For he had seen it all before. His poison claw could do the same damage. Maybe more for it toxicated the air.
He scowled as Jaken his himself behind him. All the anger about his false accusation of Rin being missing came back to him, and he quickly snatched Jintojo and placed another bump onto his wards forehead. That was when he noticed the two demonesses were staring at him. Sesshomaru gave them both a side glare before turning his whole body to face there direction. A warning growl passed his throat.
What was he? Some decoration to stare at? "Yes?" he asked. His intended question was more on the newcomer then anything else. These two were relatives. He could smell it in there blood. Twins. But completely different.

Flora eyed Jaken for another moment as the smoke curled up from the singed ground, the odor bothering her nose, but not all that much. She smirked at him, seeming to say without words that the next time-if he were so foolish as to attack her again- Fauna wouldn’t be able to stop her. She laughed coolly as he ran to hide behind Sesshoumaru, shaking her head lightly. And then her gaze had fixed onto Sesshoumaru intently.
Fauna’s laugh had the same tone as Flora’s, yet it was softer and sweeter. Clearly warm and gentle. There was a kinder look in this demoness’s eye, one of many traits that made her distinguishable from her twin. They shared the same face, but nothing about them was alike.
As Sesshoumaru spoke, obviously realizing that she watched him, Fauna flushed delicately and dropped her gaze. She wasn’t the confrontational sort, and even such a small thing unnerved her a bit. She had power, a lot of it, but…Still. Calming herself almost immediately, she smiled and spoke cheerfully. “I apologize, I didn’t mean to stare. I was merely surprised. The little...thing obviously looks to you for protection...but you don’t seem any kinder to him than Flora would have been and it’s –Oh, hush Flora!” she snapped lightly, distracted as her sibling made a sound close to a hiss as she eyed Jaken.
She really hated that toad, it seemed. But then...she didn't know many who Flora didn't hate,or want to maim in some way..
