My night of sorrow(Soothsayer)

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Soothsayer pondered over the question, finding it, well, a very good question. "Hmm.." he began, slightly swaying his body from side to side and since she was in his hold, she swayed with him slightly. "A beloved is someone whom I can admire...relate to. Who I can sing with and actually has the talent for it. I believe anyone with such talent has a chance of being a beloved." he paused for a momrent, stopping the swaying as he stilled himself.

"But a blessed one...it's so much more...personal." he paused to find the correct words to say. "Because it was I who gave the talent. And suddenly they became my responsibility. No shika can be closer to me then a blessed one. Sadhor would feed on the souls of shika, but as long as he didn't take my blessed ones, I was fine." The deer god suddenly realized that maybe Koneko wasn't sure who he was talking about.

"Sadhor is one of my brothers. His job is of the dead."

[Rin]

Koneko sighed and nodded with a half-hearted smile. "I see." She relaxed as Soothsayer continued to rock both of them gently.
she blused as a thoguht cma eot her, she remeberd when they had left Merodi the other day... and when the fire god interrupted Soothsayer before he could answer a question she asked, "Have you, ever been in love?"
Koneko scoffed in her mind at the stupid question. 'Of coarse he has... he loves Merodi, after all he created her. And he loves his parents, probably...' she thought to herself and closed her eyes, sighing. "How are you feeling?" She asked softly, feeling silly at the random question.

[Lord Sesshomaru]

"Content at the moment..." Soothsayer's voice drifted off for a moment as he held her close to him. Enjoying the warmth from her body and the added warmth of the fire. He yawned lightly, placing his forehead on her shoulder in replace of his chin. "And now tired."

((wah, short))

[Rin]

"I won't be able to sleep tonight... I never can, even if I try." Koneko murmured, resting her head lightly ontop of Soothsayers.
"But if you want to sleep, you can Soothsayer." She said with a smile. She gently rubbed Soothsayer's arms that were holding her and sighed softly.
She tensed when she heard rusteling noises form wind touching trees, followed by the howling of wolves in the far distance. Koneko whimpered, feeling frightend, even though it was silly to be so.(Me too! XD)

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Soothsayer, in a state of exhaustion seemed oblivious to the sudden change in atmosphere. His ears jerked slightly to the sound of the howls but he seemed to not react as he slowly takes her with him to sit comfortably against the base of a tree. "You shall sleep with me." he said in her ear, holding her closer to him in his lap.

[Rin]

Koneko leaned into the hold, but she knew shewouldn't be bale to sleep.
Atleast, she thougth she knew.
Now that she thought about it, she use to do it all the time(Sleep) on this night when her father would come in and sing her a lullaby and tell her a fairy tale story.
She sighed, if her cat ears had been there, they'd been drooping. 'I never asked him to stop doing that.... why did he stop?' She asked herself in her mind, feeling comfortable and warm in Soothsayer's arms. It was so nice... Her eyes began to droop ever so lightly.

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Soothsayer held her close, his eyes closed as he was comforted by her body warmth. He breathed in deeply, starting to hum softly of the song he had taken the time to teach the wolf demon Koga. Something about the song made him sad. But it was a good song, and probably was because of the soft piano play in the background of the song. That was something not included in his humming.

[Rin]

Koneko blinked as Soothsayer began to hum to her...
She sighed and closed her eyes, starting to feel tired.

She didn't know that song, but memories of her father and the good times they shared togather came to mind, as well as her mother.
She smiled and whispered, "That's a nice melody, what's it called?" She asked softly, yawning alittle and rubbed her eyes, kinda like a little child does.

[Lord Sesshomaru]

"Goodnight My Angel." Soothsayer replied, smiling broadly. "Shouldn't you be at home on this night? Won't your father get suspicious?"

[Rin]

"No... he's on a buisness trip. Or he's locked himself in his study, and when eh does that, he never comes out until the works done, which can end up taking all night."
Koneko murmured softly, a small tear runnign down her face just as she went to sleep.

(DO you midn me putting abit of Koneko's dad in?)
Menawhile, back in modern day.
A man with long black hair, which was braided and hung over his shoulders, sat at a desk in his office with both his laptop, and a lamp on.
A knock at the door made him call ouyt, "COme in?"
He half hope dit would be Koneko, comign back from the well.
He hadn't worried about her after he found out about the Soothsayer demon watchign her(SHe had told him about it) but was alittle anxious.
But instead, it was his wife's mother, Koneko's grandmother.
"She is not back... is she?" She asked.

The demon blinked, "I would think," He said slowly, and in a slightly tired voice, "That I should be asking that question, why?"
"Because, you fool!" Said Grandmother in a scolding tone of voice, "Have you not realized what day it is?!" The demon furrowed hsi eyes in confusion, and he looked at the date, then at the window at the mo-

"Koneko! It's-" The demon stood up, straight as a poker. "Yes, Tohru, your daughter is a human now, and in some bewitched land filled with danger on top of that."

[Lord Sesshomaru]

"I should take you home, huh beloved?" Soothsayer asked as he smiled, not expecting her to answer. Of course her staying here all night could be troublesome. Her father knew where she was, yes? Did the man know about Soothsayer? And if so, why, oh why, would her father allow her to wander about, unescorted. No woman is allowed to be alone with a man. People got ideas, and she seemed to come from a high esteemed family. Or maybe such a tradition only was in the feudal era.

Soothsayer sighed, adjusting her as he picked her up and carried her toward the well. Hopefully it would allow them to travel. He went to the well, carrying her bridal style as he jumped in, surprised at the sensation of the well, but got over it quickly. He exited the well, looking around slightly in awe as he just stood there, unsure on what to do with himself.

[Rin]

Tohru had just opend the door right after Soothsayer had come out of the well. The door had made a slight bang, from being slid so quickly.

Koneko stirred alittle at the noise, and nuzzled her face into Soothsayer's neck, but otherwise, did not wake up.

"Are you Soothsayer?" Thoru asked, slowly walking towards the other male, eyes cautiously scanning the strange demon for any signs of agression towards his weakend daughter or himself.
Of coarse, he was worried more about his daughter's safety, then his own.

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Soothsayer blinked, taking in Koneko's father's appearance as his eyes narrowed. "No, I'm some other random deer demon with large antlers that suddenly appeared from your well." He grinned, finding what he said himself funny as he forced himself not to laugh as he moved to pass the father. "Where is her room?"

[Rin]

Tohru nodded his head towards the door. "This way."
He led the deer demon through the house until they came to a room where the walls were painted like a landscape of a setting sun over a field.
The curtains were drawn, and a lamp on the bedside table was lit.
There was a Computer desk, with a laptop and other modern accecories on it for the laptop.

A picture of a pretty human woman, holding a baby Koneko in her arms, sat on the beside table. On the walls there were afew other pictures.

One of the pictures, had a little girl, who was obviously Koneko, sitting in her Dad's lap while playing(Or trying to) on a piano.
Another one, was of Koneko at her present age, sitting in the garden playing her guitar at sunset.

Koneko murmured something in her sleep and yawned softly.

Soothsayer glanced around the room, finding interest in everything but found he had something more important to do. He took her to the bed and placed her beneath the covers. He smiled, standing back up and glanced at her father, but didn't say anything as he turned to leave the room.
