Appearance: Merodi has long red hair put into low pigtails. She has large deer-like ears that have black tips. Large brown orbs and her skin is light brown colored fur. The front of her body is white fur. She has a short fluffy tail, that of a deer as well. Her feet and hands are white and her feet are more hoof-like. Her hands are like normal except for them having hoof-like fingers. (why do I have to do this, I have a pic)
Personality: Merodi is a kind young demon just starting off. She is shy of others and does not like being cornered. It is a phobia of hers. She hates cages and tends to freak out. Merodi mostly lives out alone for she does not trust easily no matter how kind she acts towards others. She is always just too uncomfortable and would rather be alone even if she is lonely. She wishes to have friends but she freaks out. Merodi sings when she gets too lonely.
History: Merodi was named as such because of her voice. Merodi has told her parents of strange dreams she has have. Dreams where a beautiful woman with long golden hair and a white gown sings to her. The songs are strange and she has never heard of such before. And when she re-sings the lyrics to her parents, they haven’t heard of anything like that before either. Merodi had become famous in the Shika demon village for her voice. She sang for the sick and old. Merodi was asked long ago to sing for a human emperor. Her parents wouldn’t allow there daughter to sing to such filth as a human. The emperor became angry and demanded she sing for him unless face his army. Still, her parents would deny and accepted the challenge. It was unlike the shika to fight and so when her parents accepted the challenge she became wary of them. For they had taught her themselves that Shika do not fight. It was against the Shika way.

But to find that the whole Shika village had accepted his challenge and all went out to war against the humans for Merodi’s defense. Fitted with rage the Shika attacked the human army head on. When deer or Shika yokai are swallowed in rage or fear they lose there minds and they all were easily tricked by the humans. They killed them, skinned them for there hide and used the males antlers for arrow heads and other things.

Merodi became the last of the Shika yokai that she could tell. For no other looked as deer like as she. Soon she was taken as prisoner to the emperor and forced to sing him a new song every day. One day the emperor and his lands fell to a powerful taiyokai who had been attacked by the army. The emperors daughter and Merodi escaped. She had been great friends with the emperors daughter, Sarah (sound familiar) but they had lost each other in a thick forest and never found each other again. Merodi soon learned that her savior against the emperor was the western taiyokai, Sesshomaru. Who she set out to thank one day when she got over her phobia of others…
