[General]-
Name: Tsubasa
Alias: The One-legged Wanderer
Gender: Male
Age: 37 years
Birth date: July 19
Hair: Black, pulled back
Eyes: Red, slitted pupils
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 100 lbs.
Race: Crow demon
Current Era: Past
[About]-
Personality:
A cold, hard visage masks the one who fears his own loneliness above all else. Tsubasa is such a character as that. He has no regard for humans as company, and even less for half-demons, but the crow demon yearns for the company of other demons, especially those like himself. He wants a companion; not a lover, mind you, but someone who will keep him from the madness that occasionally threatens him. Still, Tsubasa has trouble communicating this. He does not like speaking, and is oftentimes unintentionally rude. He lashes out, letting his darker emotions take control of him. It might seem that when he is alone he’d be more peaceful, for he proves to be oftentimes violent, but he is just as vicious without others as with.
Tsubasa finds it difficult to find joy or even humor in the world around him. He takes pleasure in little, but his artistic outlet allows him to get rid of some of his emotion. This outlet is painting, and he describes great scenes of turmoil and hate and agony with the ink-covered tip of his brush. However, more often than not, he is without paper and ink, and ends up smashing things to relieve himself. He tries not too think too hard about anything, and lives in a constantly emotional state.
Background:
Ever since he was sixteen, when he first learned the trick, Tsubasa preferred to take a humanoid form rather than his natural demon-bird form. He pieced together the bodies of human corpses, and melded his soul into theirs. The resulting body was that of a scrawny man, with bowed legs that ended in crude talons, fingers that were clawed, arms that edged feathery black wings, and a sharp-nosed face topped with oily black hair. Since many crow demons never mastered the skill of taking a human form, Tsubasa’s accomplishment was praised amongst his kind, even if his was a body that would never truly deceive humans.
This, along with his apparent skill at manipulating the bodies of the dead, was a sure sign that Tsubasa would soon find a mate among his kind. And find one he did. She had fine black feathers and a powerfully-formed beak. Her three eyes were round and bright, full of cleverness that had Tsubasa smitten. Though she had no human form of her own, she liked to take control of various corpses, and together, she and Tsubasa went through the many dancing rituals of courting. He adored her immensely, and would oftentimes exclaim that she was better than he in many respects, from cleverness to fighting and most other things. Still, she was as smitten by him as he was by her, and they hoped for a long, good life together.
They were the both of them in their thirties, and they had borne no children, a thought that saddened both of them. Despite her barrenness, Tsubasa was faithful to his mate. She was never satisfied, though. She heard tell of the Shikon no Tama, a jewel that was said to give immense power to whoever possessed it. Since children were not an option to her, she turned her mind to a new obsession: obtaining this illusive jewel. In spite of his obvious affection, she always worried about Tsubasa’s loyalty to her, and she decided that if she had the jewel and became more powerful than any other crow demon, he would never leave her. So she left in pursuit of this jewel, despite Tsubasa’s insistence that it was unnecessary. Still, he respected her enough not to follow.
It was later, from a different crow demon, that he learned of his beloved’s fate. She had found the jewel and, after much clever plotting, had stolen it from the human priestess who had been holding it, and swallowed it. She had hoped to return to Tsubasa with her new form and the gift of a human meal when the priestess and a half-demon had attacked her. Her one leg was separated from her body, and the priestess used this leg to shoot the arrow that would kill Tsubasa’s mate and shatter the jewel.
Tsubasa was mad for a time with grief. He severed his own leg and ate it as a show of mourning. He began talking to people that existed in his head, consulting them about issues. Oftentimes, he thought he was with his mate, then would awaken from a dream and throw himself from the edge of a cliff, only for his wings to catch him before he fell. It was a bad time for him, but in that time, anger crystallized in his mind. He cut himself on the shoulder, swearing that if he ever met the priestess Kagome or the half-demon Inuyasha, he would kill them for killing the one who held his own heart.
But, since the revenge business proved in vain, Tsubasa’s mind and heart slowly calmed, though anger and sadness were still his predominant emotions. He now wanders in the darkest lands, eating those who are already dead and painting dark landscapes on scrolls for entertainment. He has yet to find a purpose in his life, and entertains the thought, sometimes, that he might still wreck his vengeance. Sharp lines etched themselves onto his pale face, and his eyes grew sunken. When he fought an unusually powerful demon, he discovered that the demon possessed a shard of the sacred jewel. Tsubasa slew the demon and, in memory of his mate, swallowed the shard.
Relationships with Other RP Characters:
Kagome: Though he's never met the priestess, Tsubasa has sworn to get revenge on Kagome for killing his beloved mate. The crow demon hates her with all that's left of his broken heart, and wishes her every evil.
Willow: Tsubasa has absolutely no opinion about Willow, except that he should be wary around her, in case she tries to snag him out of the air again.
Sahoni Waya: Tsubasa met a boy who was lying in the dirt whom he believes to be quite stupid, but other than that, the crow demon has no opinion.
Tsuzuki: Naturally, Tsubasa is rather leery of Tsuzuki, and thinks it likely that she'll probably kill him if he lets his guard down.
[Abilities]-
Techniques: Corpse puppets; use of his walking staff
Combat styles: Depends on how he’s controlling a particular corpse, or if he’s fighting in his human form
Jewel Shards: 1 embedded in his throat
