Arise, Sun, and Kill the Envious Moon
A slim figure made her way towards the river, dipping her smooth-skinned hands into the flowing, babbling river. It was cool and refreshing. Smiling, she stood up and surveyed the area, keeping one hand on her faithful Kyandesu's head. He sniffed the air inquisitively and whined. "Kyandesu, there shouldn't be anyone here. It's noontime, and most people will be eating," she reassured the wolfdog. He nodded his head understandingly before lapping at the water.
A small breeze ruffled her hair. Tilting her head behind her and to the east, she could see clouds rolling towards her. The air was heavy and already damp. She could expect a storm anytime soon. Smoothing out the wrinkles in her ghost-white kimono, she motioned to Kyandesu to follow as she made her way downwards, following the snaking movement of the river. She pushed her hair back and tied it back into a loose ponytai with a baby-blue ribbon. "Hmm...It seems...too quiet," she muttered to herself, her left hand clasping her sword hilt readily.
As if on cue, there was a harsh crash from the trees on her right. Silence fell again. Beside Kiko, the wolfdog growled. Was there something in the bushes? She wasn't a demon, and therefore she couldn't scent out any enemy like most would. Perhaps it was nothing to be afraid of, after all, it sounded only like a few crows. They were nothing that Kiko and Kyandesu couldn't handle.[/ul]
