A Bike Ride

She closed her eyes, feeling the wind blow across her face as she rode through the village. Her hair blew back as she pucked up a bit of speed. She was so relaxed she had almost forgotten she had her eyes closed, that is, until she ran over a rather large stone that nearly knocked her off balance. "Ah!" she let out a light yell as she regained control her her bike. She sighed. "Man, that was close!!" she said under her breath.
She looked around, watching the blurred faces of the villages. She wore her normal clothes. Her school uniform, a green and white top with a matching, rather short, green skirt. On her back, she carried her yellow backpack, which almost allways had something cool in it. It was her first day back from her own time. Her mother had given her a couple dozen packages of Ramen and about seven mini meals with sushi, rice balls, and a few other substances for that night. One for each of them.

She headed over to Kaede's hut, hoping to see InuYasha, or at least one of her friends. She glanced quickly around as she hear someone say 'Hello, Lady Kagome.' She waved to him and continued on her way. When she rached the hut, she skidded to a stop causing dust to fly up from her tires. She leaned her bike against the hut and looked around. She didn't see InuYasha. Maybe he was out somewhere. She had told him to meet her here in a few day, didn't she?
It was hard telling. All that make-up work drowned her thoughts in school. How she hated going back. She knew she'd have to think of something to tell her friends, and plus, the work! The work! It was inconcevable! So much math, science, history, even reading she'd missed out on. And everything had to be completed. She sighed, trying to erase that burden for at least a little while. She stared at her surroundings, keeping a sharp eye out for him.[/color][/size]

Inuyasha was on a tree close to the path way of the Inuyasha's forest and Kaede's village. His eyes were closed waiting for her to come. He didn't really know what in the world was going to happen today but he remembered that Kagome was suppose to come back from her time. Good thing that it was today or else he was going to fetch her for sure. As the wind blew softly the tree branches were rustling blocking him a little. His body was leaning against the tree with his arms and leg crossed. He looked pretty calm for someone who is arrogant and hard headed.

"Ah!"

His eyes widened at the scream as he suddenly woke up. He knew who's that voice was, it was Kagome! Was she in trouble? Swiftly he jumped from tree to tree trying to get to her. He had a scent so it wasn't hard. Almost reaching her he noticed something. She wasn't screaming anymore and that there was no youkai close by. Great what was that woman thinking now! She pretty much alarmed him for nothing! If she was screaming for nothing he swear that he was going to yell at her for that stupid scream!

Reaching the village he looked around to see people were doing their normal jobs. He couldn't blame them since they weren't any youkai and they have a simply life. His life on the other hand is simply the shikon jewel and becoming a youkai. The thought of the jewel reminded him that Kagome shot her arrow at it! How in the world can she do that! If only that woman can remember that the first time! To think destroying the jewel once wasn't good enough for her! She have to destroy it twice!

Walking his face look as if they were grumpy from the thought he noticed Kagome was in front of him. It made him felt a little better seeing her once again. Walking down towards her path his eyes starring at her backpack. He got a scent of food once again. The scent gave him an idea in his head. She might have brought ramen! Of course his face didn't show it much as they were his normal arrogant look.

" What took you so long? I mean do you have to stay in your time that long? " he said impatiently.

She sighed and sat down, waiting for him to return. She drowned herself in thought, wondering abou Kikyou. Would he go back to her? Or would he really stay. Well, that and if InuYasha had forgiven her for breaking the jewel shard. Mean, it wasn't exactally her fault entirly. If she'd let that demon make off with it, everyone would be endanger. On the other hand, they did have to go out searching for it again. There was never a time for rest for her, was there? She looked up, thinking that she'd heard something like someone running.

Kagome looked over at the rushing sound she'd heard. InuYasha? Yup, there he was. complaining again. Another fight it would seem. She pointed a finger at him. "Hey! I've told you before, I have a life there too, ya know!" She yelled back. She wondered a minute. Oh, she thought of something that just might make him shut up without 'The Word'. She watched and waited to see if he dared to say anything else, which he probably would have.[/color][/size]

At Kagome's argument he fought back standing his ground " Oh really? If so then why don't you just stay there! " He didn't meant it but it was just how he always was, speaking before thinking. " See if I care about that! " He crossed his arms and waited for her reply. His face still looking stubborn as usual. His ears was peeked up getting ready to hear what she was about to say. Of course he was still wondering why she was screaming but was glad that she was okay even though he didn't show it. This was one of the things that would make her say the word but being who he was he didn't care...before it happens.

He was still looking at her and then the image of Kikyo came before him. The thought of her made his face soften up a little. Where was the miko right now? Was she alright? Even though they were apart he still cared for her. He remembered the last time he had seen her. How he told her that he would had become a human for her to be an ordinary woman. In the end she died being an ordinary woman. Still now she was brought back so he wondered what he should do. Should he let Kagome stay in her world where it's safe and travel with Kikyo or should he be with her. The hanyou couldn't decide on that thought.

Kagome tightened her fists into her hands, that comment wasn't exactally what she'd expected. She turned away from him, facing her back to his face. Folding her arms, she spoke.
"If that's how you feel, maybe I will." She said. She started to walk away, theat really hurt her feelings. She wouldn't really go, but she did at least want him to stop her.
Just to be sure he didn't really mean it. Stubborn or not, he had a soft side. And maybe her threatning to leave would bring it out of him, or at least make him act a little nicer.

She walked off in the direction of the forest, her eyes slightly closed, but she could still see a bit where she was going. She was pretty upset with him. Though she'd usually sit him when he upset her, this wasn't the time.
That insult he'd made was something she couldn't say the word to. It was something he'd have to fix with her on his own and she was determand to make him do so.

As Kagome spoke those words to her he couldn't think of anything to say. Looks like she didn't know that Inuyasha didn't mean it at all. Once again his mouth had cost him something. He really rather have the command 'Sit' than this right now. Especially when he wasn't good with apologizing or dealing with a girl's sadness. He hated when he does that to her. While she walked away from him he stood there his face now really soft as if he wasn't himself anymore, or really he was his true self. The arrogant act was always just something that he does to make a tough front. On the inside he really wants everyone to be happy.

After the hanyou regain himself he dashed off to Kagome so that he can apologize to her. If only she knew his true feelings for her. Soon she came into his sight so he reached his hand out and put it over her shoulder as he stopped. He was right by her side now. He didn't really know how to say it once again so he did the best that he can.

" Kagome I'm sorry. I really didn't mean that? " he said now being very honest as even his voice showed how sad and sorry it was for her.

Kagome opened her edyes fully as he placed his hand on her sholder, she tried not to shed a tear, but one did fall from her cheek. She knew he didn't mean what he said, but she couldn't help but react in that way. She looked at him, seeing his lkind face, so soft, so gental.
It made her glad that he cared. She wrapped her arms around him, laying her face on his chest. She was glad he haddn't run off again like he sometimes did. She didn't want to part with him, not again like the time he'd shoved her down the well and blocked it.

She looked up at him, why couldn't he be this way all the time. He just had act so imature. It got on her last nerves. But, then again, it was his arrogence that usually saved her. His stubborn personality that just never seemed to let him give in. She closed her eyes.

"Thank you." she said quietly to him. She hoped he'd stay this way for at least a while longer. She didn't really want to put up with him right now. But, with InuYasha, who knows what he'll do next. He's one unperdictable guy.

Inuyasha held Kagome as she put her head on his chest. He was okay with it since he liked it this way. For everything to be so calming. It made him wondered if the only reason why he liked her was because she looked like Kikyo or not. He embraced her like he had always did with the miko but he knew that she wasn't the miko that he loved. She was her reincarnation in years to come. He held her tight not wanting to let her go. He didn't want to loose her again like the time in the house that go on fire. That was the very first time he had cried for someone.

At her words he simply smiled but didn't say anything. He didn't really know what to say and knew that he wasn't going to be nice for so long. He didn't want to show too much weakness to where a youkai might attack him.

The thought reminded him of Naraku who some believe that he was alive. The hanyou didn't believe them though, or at least he didn't want to.

Kagome closed her eyes after she seen him smile. It comforted her know that he did have a less arrogant side and that he did care about her. He was so warm, it made her feel so safe. She gripped his fire rat cloak and tightened her closed eyes. She wasn't really thinking much on the topic of weither or not Naraku was alive.
It really hadn't crossed her mind for quite sometime. She whiped a tear that had leaked from her eye and opened her eyes back upto his face. She hadn't realized how late it was getting, the sun was almost at a sunset.

Guess she had been late coming back. She smiled at him and released her grip on his cloak. She had completly forgotten about her bike, which she had left leaned up against Kaede's hut.
Guess it would be safe there though. Hopefully. She looked up at the sunset. It was beautiful. Full of all sorts of colors, from reds to yellows, even purples and blacks signalling that day was nearly over.

Inuyasha felt Kagome's grip on his cloak but he didn't do anything about it. He simply let he do it. He had wondered what it was like to have that with Kikyo right now. To watch the sunset with her once again like they once did. He knew that he shouldn't dwell on the past but he couldn't do it. The thought of the miko made him wanted to see her again. To see if she was alright, to hear her voice talking to him as his lover once again. He knew that it wouldn't happen but part of him just have to hope for that. The part of him that would be a human for her. The same part that wanted to marry her just like they were about to before Naraku tricked them. Still even though the evil hanyou tricked them into hating each other Kikyo died along with him. Something that he can't do for her.

As the sun was setting down his eyes looked at the sky that had so many varieties of different colors. He didn't know why but he was really happy to watch it with Kagome even though he still wants to watch it with Kikyo right now.

Kagome watched up at the sky, completly unaware of what InuYasha was thinking about. She'd probably run off again if she'd known.She didn't know what to think of that subject anymore. She didn't really know how to deal with it either. she sighed peacfully.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" she said, looking back at him. He seemed to out in a daze, day dreaming. She hoped it wasn't about her. She tried not to dwell on that thought, though. She slowly moved her eyes to the sunset again, not moving her head from his chest.

She thought about all the times they had had together, and what may happen later. Would she and InuYasha still be together after the shards were refound again? Or would he tried to find her.
She parted from him and sat doiwn against a tree near the forest, she looked at him, hopeing he join her.

At Kagome's words Inuyasha just nodded. He heard what she said but wasn't really thinking about it much. As she parted with him to sit down against a tree he followed instinctively. He wasn't really moving , it was more of his body moving for him. He was to lost in thoughts but soon was able to regain himself as he sat down next to her. Looking at the sunset he couldn't help but wonder if it was sunset at her place too. It was always so hard to tell because the two places was seperated by a well with some magic or something.

His stomach then started grumbling, figures, he barely ate today since he wanted to go on an adventure with her so much again. With a sigh he decided to ask her " Hey Kagome you have anything to eat? " He was hoping that the answer would be yes, ramen.

She smiled and nodded. Yeah, I'd almost forgotten. she said grabbing her backpack she had laied on the ground beside her.
She reached in to get some sort of easy make meal, but she figured all he wanted was some ramen.
Oh well, best to do it now so he wouldn't complain. She got out a couple packages of instant ramen and set them down.

"We're gonna need a fire if we want a cooked meal though." she said as she looked around for something she could use to start it with. Sticks would work, eventually. Then she remembered the matches she had packed. She reached into her bag and retrieved them.

She gather a few big sticks that were around them and paced them about a couple feet away from them or so. Then she lit them with the match and retrieved some water from her bag and poored int into the ramen cup and heated them up.
Once they were fully cooked, she got a couple pairs of chopsticks and handed one of them, and a cup of ramen, to InuYasha.

Inuyasha was happy with Kagome's answer since he haven't got any ramen for ages, or at least that was how he felt like. He couldn't wait to eat the ramen once again, also he couldn't wait to get out of this village and start traveling once again. Being Inuyasha he did like to stay in one spot for a very long time, especially somewhere that is peaceful. It makes him bored and have nothing to do at all. Also he was curious about where Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kiara were. He haven't seen them for a while because they split up for something that he had forgotten already.

As the miko's reincarnation prepared his ramen he clapped his hands together already smelling the flavor. He looked almost like a child getting ready to play his new toy or new game. It was really easy to make him like that.

The hanyou took the chopstick and started eating the ramen like there was no tomorrow. He was really hungry and was sure to get some seconds soon.

" Hey, Kagome, can you make me a second one. " he said as he was about to finish his first one already.

{ Man I'm getting hungry, I think I might eat some ramenLol}

Kagome slowly ate her ramen, but couldn't help but watch InuYasha gouge down his food. He was such a pig. She sighed mentally and continued with her own meal. She stopped, hearing him talking about seconds already. He probably didn't expect it, but it was coming anyways.

"Sit boy." she said with an almost tonless voice. She ate her meal and set it aside when she had finnished. She looked over at him. He had absolutly no manners, and as if the make things worse, no common scence.
That was just like him, thinking before speaking, and sometimes not thinking at all. She sighed.
"You need to learn some manners." she said as she turned away and closed her eyes. She frowned, she knew his kind and caring side wouldn't stay for long, but still, she wished it would.
