eyes staring, voices laughing, children hiding. a boy holding out his hand in friendship only to disappear in a pool of blood. Kina awoke in a cold sweat, reminding her self it was a dream only a dream, memories of her past.
Kina looked around , every thing was bare white snow was falling from the sky. a chill came creeping up her spine. kina took a deep breath, the scent of smoke stood out against the cold night air. the sun was just peeking over the Harrison when she heard a faint moan coming from beneath the tree branch she was on. Kina looked down and saw a Tiger demon leaning against the tree.
"you there kina spoke what the hell are you doing" she spoke in a clam voice
the old demon stared at her and spoke"waiting for death"
"why the hell are you doing that when it's the begging of a new day"
" i have Sauveur wounds, even if i wanted to live i couldn't"
kina jumped from her branch and stood next to the old demon. "fallow me" she said as she helped him up. she led the man out of the forest to a cave. she sat the old demon down and stated a fire.
"whats your name "she asked
"it's impolite to ask someone's name before giving your own"
"fine my name is Kina" she said with a caring tone.
"kina..." the man said
" ya my names Kina"
"kina... "the man repeated
"yes how many times do ihave to say it my name is Kina"
" you wouldn't happened to be a Demon half Tiger Half Wolf do you" the man asked
"How did you Know i am Half Tiger Half wolf Demon"
" You don't Remember me do you"
"should I"
" well i don't blame you for not Remembering me"..."it was When you were i believe Nine. i came in search of you on behalf of your mother. i watched you and saw taking you away would cause you to much grief. so with out you i returned to your mother she gave be another try but i turned her down. She was furious and struck me giving me this scare.'the demon pointed to his eye where a scar crossed it.
"my mother" kina said trying to comprehend this. " you know my mother"

She looked up at the clouded sky, soft feathery snow still fell. It was so peaceful on days like this, mainly because many of the animals still took shelter from the continuous snow fall. It was early in the morning and the sun had yet to peak over the horizon, usually she didn’t come here so early in the morning. But today she felt like doing something different, right now she was searching for her easily angered friend Kanrya. Hopefully she would have something of a winter coat, for the young Miko had none. A shiver managed to make its way through her body which caused her to rub her numb limbs. Her Miko garb though warm did very little to protect her from the severe chill in the air. Snow clung to her ebony tresses, which were tied neatly in a low pony tail behind her. As she neared the area where she usually found her demonic friend she noticed two very different presences. Fallowing her natural instincts she decided to go check out who the two strangers might be. It was long until she found tracks leading to a near by cave, some of the snow seemed to be dyed red with what looked like blood. She quickened her pace only to come to a stop at the cave entrance. Of course it wasn’t smart for a human girl never mind a Miko to get to close to an injured demon or a half demon so she settled to lean against the cave entrance wall. Unlike most Miko’s she wasn’t here to destroy the demons she was just merely interested in who they where. Her calm grey eyes looked over at them and a soft kind smile played along her lips. Her gaze was directed at the girl as she studied her carefully, she looked like the one that was uninjured which means she would be the first to attack if any.
”Well, you’re the second Half Breed I’ve come across in this forest. Now before you attack I want to assure you I came not to fight just merely curious to what could have stumbled into this cave. You know the village near by believes it’s cursed, so I knew it had to be two that weren’t from around here that found it. My name is Yukina, I to am a visitor here, if you don’t mind I would like to take a look at your friends injuries there. I might be able to help him some and at the very least take the pains of the wounds from him.
She spoke in a soft polite voice, if she had wanted to harm them she would have already. Hopefully the young demoness before her would come to that conclusion and allow her to take a look at her friend. Her friend’s injuries seemed very severe even for a demon, if not treated soon he would bleed out. Not to mention the fire was one of the worse things the bring him next to, it would only increase his blood flow and bring him to his end sooner.

Kina looked to the Cave entrance where a young Girl stood. She asked if she could treat the old demons wounds. Kina looked at the old demon and he nodded having little choice but to trust the young Girl.
as the Girl Treated the old tiger demons Wounds they continued to talk of her mother, not all of the words kind.
as the old demon spoke Kina stared at the flames dancing in the fire pit. Listening to every word he spoke.
"your mother was my half sister, we shared a mother but not a father...Her father was the leader of our Tiger demon tribe" he spoke these words as if the past meant little to him."your mother was married to an tiger demon from a harboring tribe. she had a son, he was your elder Brother"
Kina looked Up from The fire surprised she stared at the old demon "older brother...I have an older brother"
she looked over to the young Girl she seemed fairly intristed in what the old Demon had to say . even though it was obviously none of her concern.
the young Girl spoke up with a question "what is he like"
the old demon startled looked at her " Is.. No the correct Grammar here is was. What was he like"
"oh" the Young girl blushed
" so he's dead" Kina said void of emotion
"yes"
"then theres no reason to know what he was like...what purpose would it serve"
"i suppose your right Kina-sama"
"you were saying"
" your mother fell in love with the leader of the Tropic wolf demon Tribe"
" tropic wolf demon Tribe" the young half demon looked confused. honestly so was kina" i have never heard of them"
"not suprised there one of the smallest they live on an island of the eastern coast
"my father was the leader of the tropic wolf demon tribe"
" yes...your mothers husbaned found out and confronted your father. they say the battle rager for days befor the wolf demon killed the Tiger.'
"What are my parents names" kina asked
"oh yes i haven't told you that yet . your mothers name is Tigeira
and your fathers name is Devouru."
"Tigeira...and Devouru" kina repeted"
it grew quiet the only sound was the flames and the young girl pulling at bandages.

Once given permission she walked over to the old demon and took some bandages out of her bag that she had been carrying. This wasn’t the first time that she had to treat serious wounds so she was able to expertly bandage the wounds. As she worked she listen in on there conversation, it sounded like the girl had no clue to whom her family was. Once she finished bandaging the old demon, hopefully that would slow the bleeding long enough for his own blood to take affect and begin the healing process.
”If you don’t mind me putting in my opinion, I think its important to know ones family, even if they have already passed to the next life. Family is something that should be important to all of us, even if they aren’t the best.
She stood up and brushed the dirt from her red hakama pants. It would be best if she began to get on her way. But then again an idea struck her, she may be able to help the girl more then she originally thought.
”I could help you reconnect with your brother, would you like that?”
Her face had gained a serious look to it, she would only offer this once and if she said know she wouldn’t offer to do it again.
”Answer quickly for I’m about to leave”

Kina watched the girl bandage the Demon and thought to her self that she must of had experience for she was excellent at it. the girl looked about done. when a thought struck kina why should i even try to reconnect with my mother or father. they obviously don't want me otherwise why would they abandon me so many years ago. kina was brought out of her train of thought when the Young girl spoke
"if you don't me putting my in my opinion, I think its important to know ones family, even if they have already passed to the next life. Family is something that should be important to all of us, even if they aren’t the best."
this stuck kina it was as if the girl had read her mind at that moment.

kina was shocked how could she reconnect with her brother he was dead.
"but how?" kina asked puzzled

A smile crossed her lips, the look on the girls face was priceless. It wasn’t often Yukina reveal her gift and when she did it was a rare occasion. She had never found much use for it, but when the moments presented themselves she would take them. The only problem is, how to explain it to the young half breed. A thoughtful look spread across her face as she thought of the best words to explain her ability in.
”Well I like to call the ability Death Site, its something I’m able to do that allows me to speak to spirits whom have passed on. I haven’t had control over this ability for long so I’m still a bit rusty at it but I believe I can help you connect with your brother with it. The only question is, do you still want to know who your brother was? Or do you want to remain peacefully ignorant to what possibly could be a big disappointment? But for this I do ask for a jewel shard in return.”
She waited for an answer, unsure if the young demoness would be willing to part with the shard that she had on her possession. Yukina’s own jewel shards she kept on her were crying out to its lost piece which was why she was able to know that the young half breed had one. As a Miko she couldn’t let a jewel shard be left in a possession of a demon, hopefully the girl would exchange the one she had for Yukina’s help. After all Yukina did not wish to fight the young half breed so this would hopefully be a peaceful solution.

her Jewel shard... the Young girl wanted the shard that she had worked so hard to find. the demon she claimed it from was weak but still kina wasn't sure if she was willing to part with it.
kina thought for a second then looked at the girl standing in the entrance of the cave.
"why would you want this Jewel shard when you already poses one. or do you simply need more than one because you are a weak and pitiful excuse for a demon, or could it be you are just greedy"
The girl took a step out of the cave and kina watched her carefully.
"old man do you know where my mother is right know"kina asked still thinking about her desition
"no the only person who did know was your brother"
kina got on her feet and walked to opening of the cave. kina looked at the Jewel shard and then the girl. she hated to part with it but she really had no choice if she wanted to find her parents and the answers to her questions.
"alright...you have a deal'..."but be for we try anything i ex least would like to know your name" kina smiled at the Young girl and the girl smiled back.

Yukina slightly frowned at the girls attitude, she did not take kindly to the insults that were thrown her way. To even suggest that she would use the shards to increase her power was disgraceful. But Yukina would forgive the girl for she knew manners weren’t exactly well practiced in this time. Though this did not mean she would let the girl off the hook. Yukina was a very prideful girl, she had always been one.
”First off lets get a few things straight, I’m a Miko, two I have two shards not one, three to even think I would use them for my own gain is despicable. I rely on my own strength alone, and it is all I need. Also I’m gathering the shards because its been enabling lower level demons to become a threat to my family, so to stop the constant attacks I’m going right to the source which is giving these demons the ability to do so. Not to mention I’ve recently came into knowledge of another demon which would be far worse then any other if he gained the possession of the entire jewel. Now tell me do I fit any of the accusations you just made against me?
Her eyes had harden a bit yet her facial expression had remained the same and her voice calm. Though some how it still managed to clearly state that if the girl insulted her in such a way again there would be a consequence. She watched as the girl tried to find another solution to get out of exchanging her shard. But there was none and eventually she caved in. A small wave of relief passed over Yukina for they had found a peaceful solution. As the girl asked her for her name Yukina couldn’t help but chuckle.
” I believe I already introduced my self, it is you whom have yet to give me a name. But if you need a reminder my name is Yukina Hijikata.

kina looked at the girl who strangly she respected for standing up for herself when insulted. Yukina though she tried to hide it, kina could tell her insults hit a nerve.
"sorry"KIna apoligized then continued "my name is Kina...As you can most likely tell i am a full demon but half tiger and half wolf "
Yukina seemed to calm down alittle.
"so are you going to help me in return for this shard or not"kina asked

Yukina nodded at the girls apology showing she accepted it. It had seemed that her little outburst got through to the demon. So Kina was the girls name, also a mixed breed much like her friend Kanrya. Though this was a first for her to come across a feline mixed with a canine. Out of all the things possible those two races coming together seemed rather unlikely; but here was proof that it was!
”It is very nice to meet you Kina, and again you ask the already been answered!”
She chuckled, this girl needed to pay attention more. But she still looked very young for a demon so it was to be expected. Probably around a year younger then her in human years but that was still a pup in a demons eyes. Heck even 50 was considered young since most demons lived for centuries.
”I said I’d help you in exchange for the jewel shard and so I shall. Once I have the Jewel in my possession we can start. I’m a girl of my word so don’t think I’ll run off just as soon as you give it.”
She said all this in a sincere tone, there would be no doubt that she meant what she said. After all she had already said she would help the girl, in fact if she hadn’t had a jewel shard she would have probably still helped her. But she was originally on a quest to find the jewel shards so there agreement would just help both of them out.

Kina looked at the girl then the shard one more time. she extended her hand and placed the shard in Yukina's open hand.
"alright then you swear not to run off with it with out helping me" kina asked.
"Of coarse"Yukina answered
kina wanted to get started right away. but decided it would be better to go at Yukina's pace. Yukina stood at the entrance of the cave as kina sat next her.the old demon got up and moved torowrd the exit
" i fell fine enough to to walk thank you for every thing both of you"he said sincerely." oh and Kina-sama be careful"
the old demon walked out out of the cave and into the cold snowy morning.
"Good bye kina said waving to the old demon the directed her attention to Yukina "so how does it work?" kina asked as she tilted her head toward Yukina.

Yukina grasped the shard in her hand and with the other hand she took out a ruby red amulet that had been hidden by her clothes. She placed the jewel shard in its back and returned it to his original position. A wave and a friendly smile was all she gave when the old demon walked off. It wasn’t long after he had disappeared from site that Kina had turned her attention to her.
“Well its as simple as retracing your past, usually along the road you find clues leading to where a person might stay in the after life. I’ll have no problem communicating with the trick is to find him. First off lets find this tiger tribe that the old tiger spoke of, we may find clues there or at the very least find answers to some unanswered questions. Plus it is the tribe which your brother use to belong to is it not?”
If she remembered correctly there was a large tiger tribe down in the south. But any other information he girl would be able to provide would be helpful in the search.

It had been maybe 15min after the old demon had left , that kina had started to regret not having him stick around alittle more. she dosn't know much only what her adoptive mother and what the old demon had told her.
"the old demon din't tell me where the tiger tribe was. just that it was south of here. and the tiger tribe I've heard of in the south might not even be it" kina sadly admitted this to her self "but i guess it's better than nothing right?" kina turned her attention to Yukina, who looked deep in thought.

“The good news for you is that the tiger demons happen to keep a good track on rival tribes. If this tribe isn’t the one then they’ll know where to find the other tribes, also I know the general direction the tribe is in. But that tribe will be a great place to start, at the very least we’ll know where to look next once we find them.”
Yukina smiled, she gave the girl her word that she was going to help her find her brother and that’s exactly what she was going to do. It would most likely take a while but all good things take time. She kicked sand on the fire making it go out, if they were to leave now it wouldn’t be so wise to leave a fire burning unwatched. Once the fire was out she calmly walked out of the cave and back out into the chilled air. If the girl really wanted to find her brother she would fallow her, if not Yukina was just taking a nice stroll down to the southern lands.
As she walked along she took the time to admire the snow covered ground around her. She loved it when it snowed, it made everything so quiet. Her feet only sunk slightly into the snow and luckily for her it wasn’t that deep yet. This meant her feet stayed relatively warm. Thinking that the girl most likely fallowed her she spoke up, trying to strike up a conversation.
”So Kina, what do you usually do when your not searching for your family?

this question caught kina off guard a bit, no one ever showed an interest in her like that before. well there was one but it was a long time ago. Kina liked having someone take an interest in her, it felt like some one cared
"well..."kina thought a moment what did she like to do while she wasn't looking for her family it had been so long had she really forgotten. "ilike to..." then it hit her fond memoirs came flooding back. to her of her old friend and of her pretend family. " I like to sing when I'm not looking for my family. "
kina looked to Yukina to see if she was listening. and to wait for a reply.
