Crossing Over

Kagome was brought back to reality by the sudden ringing in her ear. She sighed to her self as her hand reached over. Searching for the object that had woken her from her peaceful sleep. It had been ages since she had last slept in her bed, she had honestly forgotten how good it felt to even sleep in an actually bed. She almost had to force herself to sit up as she opened her eyes. Taking in her surroundings and giving her eyes a chance to get used to the light. She couldn't help but sigh once again before she threw the covers off her body and got out of her bed.

After taking a shower and enjoying ever minute of it, she got ready to once again return to the feudal era. Getting all the supplies again her yellow bag slowly got larger and larger until she couldn't fit anything else. This was like a routine to her, thinking back to how all of this Begin. She still couldn't believe how much her life had changed. She had just been your average every day middle school girl. Until her 15th birthday and that's when things started to get weird. On that day her life was changed for ever, she was pulled down the hidden well on her family's shrine and taken back to the feudal era. She shook her head, quickly bringing herself back to what she had been doing before.


When she was sure that she was ready and that she had everything. She said goodbye to her family like she always did. Opening the door that led to the bone eaters well, a small sigh escaped her lips. She gently placed her hands on the lip of the well. After a few seconds she climbed over the other side and let herself drop into the well. Her body was surrounded by a blue light. The light faded and she knew she was in the feudal era. A soft smile appeared on her face and she let out a small sigh of relief once she was out of the well. I wonder where the others are, I'm early so there probably at Kaede's

Cool grey eyes looked down at the girl who just appeared in the well, a small smile crossed her face for she recognized the girl to be the owner of the shrine on the other side of the well. Her sandal clad feet swung gently back and forth as she sat on the lip of the well. Like always she wore her Miko outfit to the feudal era so she wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb. Usually when she spent her time in the feudal era her mother thought she was over her friend Kanrya’s house, so her mother usually had no clue about her recent time travels. A small breeze blew some of her raven tresses into her face and she used a small hand to tuck it behind her ear. Hopefully young Hingurashi would recognize her as a fellow classmate in the feudal era. After all she had just been transferred to her school a couple days before.

”So I finally get to meet the infamous Kagome Hingurashi, you know Hojo’s been sending Mikos from other shrines to check up on you. So what would you like me to tell him for a doubt it would be wise to tell him the truth.

She jumped off the edge of the well onto the grass so Kagome would have enough room to get out. It was a beautiful cool spring day out, and it only could get better. A light fog seemed to cover the area so you couldn’t see very far.

”My names Yukina Hijikata, I transferred to your school a couple days ago. I do have a few questions for you if your willing to answer them.

Kanrya yawned while up in the tree and watched Yukina and the strange Miko in the well. "Come on yui-chan i'm bored i wanna collect those shards!" She whined obviously bored from the waiting. Kanrya jumped down out of the tree and walked towards Yukina and Kagome while studying kagome with a keen and interested eye. Her tail wagged slightly and she grinned. "So your Kagome huh?" She growled softly and looked Kagome over. "I hear you have a kitsune traveling with you...I wish to meet the child." Kanrya's eyes hardened at her past and she turned away and stretched. "Well shall we get going yukina?" She sighed and sat on the ground waiting.

She was going to go towards the village but she turned at the sound of voices. Her brown eyes widened slightly out of surprise when she realized what Yukina had said to her. But she quickly gained her composure, a soft expression appeared on her face as she smiled.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I just never expected to see someone from the present here. " She explianed, her eyes drifting to Kanrya before she turned her attention back to Yukina.

She was so caught up in her own thoughts she had completly forgott that Yukina had spoken again. "Oh I'm sorry, it's nice to meet you Yukina. Yes that's fine. You can ask me anything but I was wondering if I could ask you something too. " She spoke in a friendly tone of voice. Happy that someone else knew what she was going through. As she waited for Yukina to answer she couldn't help but look at Kanrya. "Do I have a kitsune traveling with me.? Yes, and I'll take you to him if you would like me to."

She glanced up over at Kanrya, she certainly got impatient quickly. At the mention of a Kitsune, Yukina’s expression perked up ever so slightly. She had not heard about the people Kagome traveled with and it would be nice to meet them some time. But it wasn’t long until Kanrya’s subject of interest changed once again. In response Yukina just rolled her eyes, slightly fed up with her friends lack of patients.

”We’ll search for more shards in a few moments, I wish to speak with Kagome for a bit first. After all she was the reason I ended up finding the well in the first place.”

She turned back to Kagome who finally realized she wasn’t alone. Yukina returned the smile with a soft gentle one of her own.

”No apologies needed, if I was in your position I wouldn’t suspect another person from your time finding the well. I’m willing to answer any of your questions as long as you answer mine. The first thing I’m curious of is how you found out your well was a time portal. It just doesn’t seem likely that you decided just to jump in one day and found out it led you to the past.

Yukina waited for Kagome to lead the way to the village, after all during her time there she had yet to wander into the village. Kanrya usually preferred to keep her distance from the town so Yukina never bothered going over there to check it out.

Inuyasha was waiting for Kagome's return back to the village. She had said a few days and he tried his best to be as patient as hanyou-ly possible. And so he lied in Kaede's hut, his chin in the palm of his hand and his foot continuously hitting against the wooden floor. He wondered if there was something wrong. Sure, she had said she would return soon, and it was still early, but it bugged him a lot. Inuyasha had find out how dangerous Kagome's time was. Hell, it seemed safer here! He let out a small huff and turned on his other side, switching from his left hand to his right on his chin. Inuyasha's ears twitched in annoyance.

Just be patient...patient...oh, thats it!

Suddenly Inuyasha was on his bare feet, stomping his way out of the small hut and through the village toward the well. He would drag her back if he had to! Or at least...check and see if she was ok...

Mostly it was to drag her back so they can get back to the jewel shards she had scattered once again.

Kagome glanced at Kanrya once again before turning her full attention to Yukina. "Ok, follow me. The village isn't that far from here." She explained, speaking in a soft tone of voice. She then walked beside Yukina as they walked through the forest.

"Actually... I had no idea that the well was a protal to the feudal era..." She stopped only for a second as if to collect her thoughts. A small sigh escaped her lips as she shook her head. "It was on my 15th birthday, my brother was near the well becuase he thought our cat was there. I went down to find our cat because my brother didn't want to. I heard a strange noise, it sounded like it was coming from the well. But I didn't think that was possible, so I ignored it at first. Well untill something came out of the well. I didn't have time to react and I was pulled into the well. The next thing I knew I was in the feudal era. But.. at the time I had no idea where I was."

As Kagome spoke she looked around the forest remembering how she felt that day. How confused she had been. She was going to speak again but she stoped at the sound the bushes being rustled by something or someone. When she turned to see what had caused the noise she was relieved to see a fimilar face. "Inuyasha..What are you doing here? I thought you'd be at Kaede's."

Kanrya followed the two girls silently and fidgeted constantly mainly keeping to the back in case anything attacked but really being nervous about the village. She was thinking and not really paying any attention at all. She finally sniffed the air and smirked smelling the long awaited scent of the hanyou Inuyasha and watched him calmly her eyes not giving any hint of fear. She smiled happily at inuyasha and bowed to him. "Inuyasha...It's a pleasure to meet someone like you. I've heard about your fights with Naraku and decided to perhaps help you find the other shikon no tama shards that your miko broke. If you'll accept me and yukina's help..." She smiled and waited for an answer to her proposal.

Inuyasha stopped walking when he finally saw Kagome. Finally, she was back! If he only he could keep her here instead of going back to her time. But then he wouldn't get any Ramen....what a predicament. Her words made him glare at her, and he was about to answer when he noticed the unfamiliar women with Kagome. He glanced at both of them, and then to the one who spoke up toward him. He had never had anyone bow to him before, but even so he was still wary. He didn't know these people, for all he knew they were working for Naraku. Even if the woman said she wished to help find all the jewel shards.

To him, it sounded like a good idea at first. More the merrier. But he didn't know these people, and was also stubborn into thinking that he didn't truly need anyone elses help. He stared at her for a while, thinking of something to say to her statement. When he couldn't think up anything, he turned to look back to Kagome.

"Who the hell are these people?" he asked her, waving his arm in the two women's directions.

((sorry, it sucks, I'm not going to be very active, I got a lot of things to do at home XP school, bah ))

((It's fine, and I completely understand. I have so much to do. I'm surprised I even find time to get on.))

Kagome glanced over at Kanrya slightly surprised by what she had said. She was also shocked to see her bow a faint smile appeared on her face before she turned her attention to Inuyasha once again. She closed her eyes as she sighed, after all she had expected Inuyasha to say something like that. She the opened her eyes once again. " This is Kanrya and her name is Yukina’s " She explained, ponting to each girl as she said their name.

Yukina was distracted for a moment as she felt a slightly annoyed presence coming near, it would take them a few minutes at there pace so she brushed it off and returned to listening to Kagome. A chuckle escaped her lips as Kagome recited her tale, to think all this happened all because of a cat. It was very amusing once you thought about it, the kami’s always did have an interesting sense of humor. After the tale the presence she had felt was much closer, Kagome seemed to have noticed to and stopped. All eyes were on the bush that now was moving. Out pops a snowy haired Hanyou, which Kagome kindly identified as Inuyasha.

Yukina remained silent and unmoving during the whole encounter, she preferred just to observe at the moment. She did however raise an eyebrow when Kanrya volunteered not only her help but Yukina’s as well. The look on her face right now was unknowingly to her a very Sesshoumaru like look. But that look didn’t stay long before her face went into a mock pout as Kanrya bowed to Inuyasha.

”Aww looks like I was just upstaged as child hood hero.”

She chuckled, it was obvious she was kidding by her actions. Usually Yukina wasn’t one to kid, she was mostly a very polite young girl. She tried not to brush anyone the wrong way as to make sure she wouldn’t cause a fight. Most called her a goodie to shoes, it seemed like she was the perfect child. But those whom Yukina got to know personally would know that you were truly trusted and considered her friend once she started her playful teasing. It was just how she showed her affection, her teasing may sound mean at times but usually was never meant to sound so. As Inuyasha rudely demanded to know who they were Yukina couldn’t help but smile. Kanrya and Inuyasha seemed to already have a few things in common, one of them being rude introductions.

”I’m a classmate of Kagomes from the future. The girl whom just bowed to you is named Kanrya she like you is from this time. By the look you gave us I’m guessing your unsure of how to answer Kanrya’s proposal. To make the choice easier I can assure you we’re not working for Naraku or the guy that Naraku is working for. As for me I’m just concerned of finding the shards and making sure their gone forever. Because of the shards the attacks by demons are becoming more and more frequent in my time. As I am the only one fighting these demons it gets kind of tiring so to lessen my work load there I’m collecting the Jewel shards here before they can cause a problem. Now is that enough for you to know that we’re not working for Naraku and accept our or should I say Kanrya’s offer?

Inuyasha glared at the two women that were introduced to him by Kagome. Okay, so he knew their names now, but that didn't mean he knew exactly who they were. He didn't really get the joke that Yukino had told, but it didn't truly matter to him. As Yukino spoke, he continued to glare at her, becoming angry that she seemed to know of his suspicions. Did he really show it? Talking about being from the future, and that the jewel shards brought up more demons in her time. He didn't know why her words made him so angry, but she just acted so casual about it.

"We don't need your god damn help!" he barked, letting out a huff he turned and stormed back toward Kaede's hut. "Come on Kagome, lets go!" he yelled over his shoulder as he continued on his way. It did seem like a good idea, and they could probably find more jewel shards if he had more members in the inu-tachi, but even so he was just being stubborn. What else would you expect from Inuyasha?

Kanrya grinned and finally decided to play her ace in the hole and called out. "So i suppose you know who brought that jackass Naraku back right?" she yelled and hoped that it would bring Inuyasha and Kagome back and yawned. She winked at Yui-chan hoping that she would leave it all to her. "Oh well it seems that the battle between good and evil now rests solely on our shoulders." Kanrya turned around and sighed. "Oh and Inuyasha! There's an evil lizard person running around that wants your hide...We kept him away from the village for you but he might come back!" She started to walk away and tugged on Yui-chan's elbow and whispered quietlyto Yukina. "Trust me I know what I'm doing...hopefully..."
