Dance Like No One's Watching [C]

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Sesshomaru could understand what she was saying. And although what they did hadn't been none that innocent, she still was...just...a bit less now. When she moved away from him to get her clothes, he did the same. Grabbing his obi and his other clothes he put them on before going over and starting the difficult task of putting on his armor. He needed two arms, he really did. Maybe he should just cut off Inuyasha's and make them even. Huh, Brigantia had never met his half brother before.

Of course, Inuyasha being Inuyasha, he'd believe he was too cruel to have a mate, and more forced the hanyou butterfly to be with him. He though these rediculous things as he put on his armor. He turned his attention back to Brigantia as she asked her question.

"Not worried, probably just curious." he said with an uncaring voice. He trully didn't care if they were worried or not.

[Birdie]

She sighed, pushing her short moon colored hair back. She was the perfect image of a harassed housewife who had just been interupted from her daily ritual of housework so her husband could releive himself of some sexual tension. The problem ehre was she wa snot married and she had not been doing hosuework. She had also enjoyed everything that had happened. Her problem was jaken. He hated her so much. She was not used to being loathed for loving someone.

"Maybe we should hurry?" she asked, looking at him with that same harrassed and nervous look. "Or, I wish we never had to go back." she said with a tiny laugh, but it was obvious she was still upset about something.

Sesshomaru watched her curiously, feeling a bit odd that she cared so much about Jaken. She shouldn't care at all on what the little toad felt about their relationship. "There is no need to hurry." he said, adjusting his armor since he had tied it a bit too loose. He didn't comment on the next thing she said. Not sure if she was joking, or if she was serious; and for a moment he had also thought of never going back. But he had a job to do, and he would go back because of this responsibility he had to his tachi. Of course, he would never go back for Jaken.

No, he always left Jaken, and Jaken would have to find a way to keep up with him. The traveling had only gotten more difficult with the more members that joined his group. Rin, and Brigantia. They both had needs he had not had to worry about until now.

"Why do you worry so much about Jaken?" he asked her.

[Birdie]

She let her hair fall around her face as she answered his question. "You seem to be gaining my ability to read minds." With a small shake of her head she continued. "Jaken-sempai is like an older brother or a grumpy old grandfather. They are both things I've never really had. That is why I would like Jaken-sempai to like me. It be like having a family." She smiled, genuinely, at Sesshomaru.

"I would like to meet your brother once." She commented idly, going to the vail of willow branches. She spread them thoughtfully and looked at the beginning of the stream which supplied the willow with water. "Ah," she turned around quickly and waved her hands at him "Never mind." She moved toward him, kissing his chin. She then began to straighten out his clothes, much in the way a newly wed might do for her husband. "Lets rejoin the others then?" she asked, cocking her head to one side.

Sesshomaru didn't see it as reading her mind, he was just reading the signs that were there. She had always liked Jaken. But Jaken was, well, Jaken. He wasn't kind to most people, and even Rin pretty much got the same treatment. If anything, Jaken was stubborn as the demon lord himself was.

She wished for Jaken to like her, and it was a thing that wasn't truly going to happen, as she was given the affection of his lord. Before Sesshomaru had come upon Jaken, he had been a ruler of his kind, surprisingly true. Sometimes, he still believed he was a ruler to everyone that was under his lords rule. Since Sesshomaru did not allow Jaken to rule over Brigantia, that might also be a reason for his treatment of the butterfly.

The family she imagined, was not what she was getting. Even though Sesshomaru would do anything in his power to give her what she wished for.

Sesshomaru's thought were brought to an end when he realized what she had just said. Meet...his brother. He stared at her like she was insane, and for a moment he thought her to be. Why? Of all the people she wished to see, why his brother? Shouldn't she be happy enough to meet his mother and father? Would she not be satisfied until she met everyone in the inu-taiyoukai family tree?

With her nevermind he had never felt so releived. But even so, he ken it wasn't the end of it. And if she truly wished to meet the hanyou of a brother, then he would make it happen, he just didn't see it as a good idea. Nor, did he wish to do so.

Sesshomaru nodded his head, agreeing that it was time to rejoin with the others. He was quiet for a moment before speaking. "Do you really wish to meet him?"

[Birdie]

She tucked some strands of hair behind her ears. "Ah... No, no! Of course not!" She waved her hands again and shook her head to emphasize her point. Before he could say another word on the matter she grabbed his hand. "Come, please." She let go and started through the willow branches at a brisk walk.

Her back was starting to pain her. She ignored it, as normal. She had learned a veyr long time ago to hide these things. She was very good at it. She had her hands clasped behind her back, her chin lifted so she could smell the air easier and so that the sun could light up her face. She breathed deeply, smiling. Her hair fell away reavealing the whole of her beautiful tan face. She truely was an amazing figure amongst earth women, but somehow she dulled compared to full breeds of her kind.

She attempted to move her thoughts away from his brother, but failed. And so she allowed herself to wonder at what sort of person he might be. It wasn't easy to develope a personality that might cause Sesshomaru to hate him because it did not take much to earn Sesshomaru's wrath. And so she decided to think about what he might look like.

Sesshomaru didn't understand on why she would even try to lie to him. He knew she wished to meet him, so he didn't understand why she would try and state otherwise. Did she do so because of his feelings for his half-brother? Even so, it shouldn't matter to him. But he couldn't let it leave his mind, even as she left the base of the tree, even as he followed her.

It would not leave him, and it was very aggrivating. Did he really want Brigantia to meet Inuyasha? He wondered how his half-brother would react. Of all these times of hating half-breeds and suddenly have one as his lover...Inuyasha would either tease him of his hypocricy, or be pissed that he was treating so horribly when Brigantia was not.

Although Inuyasha was predictable when it comes to teasing the hanyou, he just wasn't sure on how the half-breed would react.

"I know you wish to meet him." he muttered, but even so it was loud enough to be heard. He lowered his lashes, looking a bit at the ground as he walked, a bored look on his face, even as he continued to be curious over his brothers reaction, and Brigantia acting like she didn't want to meet him.

[Birdie]

"Ah... mmm..." she replied that she did indeed desire to meet the boy. "And yet I did not completely lie before. I could go the rest of my life never meeting that boy. But I'm afraid. He might react in a similar way as you mother did... And don't know if I can really be hated by another person. And yet, i do desire to give him a scolding. I should scold you as well," she said with a light laugh. "You two... the way you fight, it is sad. To have family.... You should treasure it." She had stopped and refused to look in his direction.

"Ah, not I am just ranting. Please ignore my words." She bowed towards Sesshomau and continued on her way. I smell like... Oh, I don't want to think about it. Jaken-senpai will know for sure. What shall I do? She raised her hands to her beet red cheeks. Rin would not know, she was just a human child... but Jaken-senpai would be more irritable than ever.

Sesshomaru didn't understand what she was saying. She wished to meet him, and yet was afraid she would be hated. Inuyasha was nothing like his mother. And his mother...he had never believed she would have such a problem with Brigantia, when she was so acceptant of Rin. It just didn't make any sense to him. He would love to see Brigantia scold Inuyasha, it would be some of the humorous things Brigantia did.

Sesshomaru let out a small huff as she stated of scolding him. He had no need of such a thing. He was mature, and grown, a scolding was something he did not need. While his brother was still a teenager with anger issues. He had no need to treasure family. He always had a horrible family. Maybe it was his jealousy that made him hate Inuyasha? Or maybe it was that he was a living reminder of his father's betrayel to his mother. It could be many a things. And as time went on, he stopped bothering about it.

"I must admit, I do not know how Inuyasha would react to you, but you shouldn't be so afraid of being hated."

[Birdie]

She rubbed her arm, thoughtful for a long moment. How to reply? She gave a sort of tired, almost exasperated sigh. "You should understand... I know this sounds a little self-centered, but could you imagine going back to a life where I did not love you? I was alone for an entire year after I murdered my father. To be hated... it is my worst fear. I am laddened with so many memroies..." She gave another sigh, though this one more sad, as if she were struggling with something internal. "Never mind." For a moment he had seen the war with in her self, all of her uncertainties.

She walked. She refused to turn back so that he could see her tears, though she was sure he could smell them. Ah, to love a dog. She almost laughed. She brought a hand to her eyes, rubbing away tears in vain. It took only moments for her to get control over herself again. She turned and smiled all traces of tears gone. 'I'll go on ahead." She gave a small nod and began to run back in the direction of camp.

Sesshomaru still didn't undertand. He really didn't. As long as she loved him, he didn't give a rats ass if everyone else hated him. A little part of him, actually wanted Brigantia to meet Inuyasha. He did not know why, but it just felt right to share everything he had. Oh god, he truly was a lap dog, wasn't he? She owned him more then he owned her.

Wrong time to think on that.

Sesshomaru watched her back silently as she decided to not finish her words. She was sad, and he did not know what to do, once again. He was the reason too, she didn't want to open up to him, with some of her thoughts.

Sesshomaru didn't say anything further, not wanting to make her more upset. He would drop it, and she would never have to meet Inuyasha. He realized that he hadn't been following her, and actually had no means to do so. He could scent her tears, and her sadness was contagious. Great, just great.

Sesshomaru let in a deep breath, taking a step toward her before she turned and spoke to him, and ran back to camp. He stopped, watching her, continuing to stare in the direction she had went. It didn't even look like she had been crying. There was so much she was hiding from him...he barely knew anything about her, did he?
