The… the three of them. “N-n-no, that’s not…” What I meant Aiko finished in her mind. How could she, a human child, help the two apparent fighters? She’d never even used Doka before, even though it was her constant companion ever since she’d known Kikan, the kitsune who had given it to her. Did they expect her to be of any use in a fight? Pretty much her only skills were… come to think of it, she didn’t really possess any skills, except maybe survival. Then again, maybe her surviving on her own as long as she had was really result of the kindness of others and sheer dumb luck…
But the woman was still talking, saying how they should share a meal and discuss future plans. But Aiko couldn’t possibly impose upon them, especially when she had nothing to contribute to the food pile! Oh, but just the thought of food made her stomach growl, practically begging the two demons for scraps. Embarrassed by the sound of her stomach and by the tight feeling in her belly, the girl grabbed it, smiling sheepishly at the two older folks. “No thank you,” she mumbled, turning a deep scarlet shade as her belly protested against this. “Really, I couldn’t intrude upon you two… I don’t mean to be a burden.”
After all, she realized, she didn’t even know the names of these two. But then again, they didn’t know her name, either. Enlightened to her own rudeness, Aiko gasped, then doubled over in a lower-than-necessary bow. “Please accept my humble apology for not having good manners!” she gasped. “My name is Aiko. P-pleased to meet you both.” Still in apology for her unacceptably rude behavior, before and now, she stayed bowed, feeling ashamed of herself. Mother and Father taught me better! she scolded.

"Oh, its OK I was intending to treat you two to lunch. You won't be an burden to me, I just thought it would help..." Kardowin bit her lip. How stupid of her not introducing her self. "My name Kardowin." She walked over to Aiko, all of a sudden Kaskie jumped in his sheath "MY NAME IS KASKIE!" He said excitedly as if they could hear him. "No one can hear you Kaskie." She muttered to him, totally embarrassed. She felt responsible for Aiko, regardless of what anyone said about it. She had diverted demons to keep their attention form her during as Akio walked, all she hared and seen is nothing. "Please, I would feel much better."

Shade was shadowing Kardowin, staying in her shadow and keeping fixated eyes, watching her movements like a hawk, he mumbled to introduce himself "Not sure about this, but I think I said it. It was Shade." He was also still annoyed by the 'couples' comment. "Look, I don't think either of us have an interest in eachother past a mutual aggreance, but we could be..." he choked as he got the words up "Friends" his rifle rested on his back around with a strap, while his red eyes continued to peer at Kardowin "So...what is your story?" He smiled slightly as he asked "Mine is, I'm not a real demon...I'm...'artificial'"

Kardowin looked at Shade sadly "Truth be told I never had any friends... I always traveled alone." 'When I did making friends it would turn out that they were only use me and betray me.' "I never trusted any one enough to be my friend." She felt the tears coming on, no she would not cry.
She strained up "I am in search of someone. But until recently I have been looking for my way home, a cryistal...It had be longed to my father, It's the only thing I have of my family besides for Kaskie, my fathers sword." Kardowin realy didn't like to breing up her past but she had to in order for the to become stronger.

Oh, how she hated the thought of being burdensome… But if the lady was going to treat her, how could she say no? Her mind naturally jumping to justification, she thought, Well, if it’s offered, it would be equally as rude to decline as to impose in the first place. Guiltily, Aiko massaged her midsection, imagining a yawning gap between her belly and her back.
But she still listened politely as the lady, whom she would now think of as Kardowin, and the armored-up man, who introduced himself as Shade (what an odd name… but that’s not polite, not even to think!), made small talk. Aiko longed to sit herself more comfortably on the dusty ground, for her skinny legs were trembling wearily, but that would be rude, too. Just be patient, Aiko, she consoled herself. They’re offering you food. Be grateful, but for goodness sake, don’t be impolite! It’s not nice. Still, she couldn’t say she really understood Shade’s talk of being arty-fishal, or whatever that was. She still nodded her head, as though she completely comprehended, mostly out of reflex.
Still, she understood Kardowin’s comments on never having any friends. She could not empathize; at least, not any more. Aiko had Kikan, even for that brief time that they spent together before she felt the need to leave. Struggling not to get absorbed by her own thoughts, the girl focused in on what Kardowin was still saying. Something about looking for a crystal… well, sorry to say, Aiko wasn’t exactly on the lookout for treasures herself, and had never seen such riches in her lifetime. She still imagined, though, that crystals and gems must be very beautiful…
Without even realizing it, she was fading out of the conversation again, just like any typical girl of her age plagued by the talk of adults, which she could not follow anyway, and her imagination ran off on far-off adventures. She smiled dreamily as she imagined what crystals must look like (maybe like flowers), and smiled dreamily, swaying on her feet.

Kardowin relaxed a little. 'Might as well get things going.' "Well let find a place to sit down we can't eat in the middle of the road." She suggest calmly starting to walk. She was hoped Shade was starting to think of his stomach in stead of her watching her like an hawk for the rest of the time beaning. And knowing Aiko had been waiting for one of them to give the word that it would be time to eat. At the moment she seemed to be drifting off... maybe wondering what the crystal must look like.

“Eat” was the magic word that brought Aiko out of her daydream of skipping through the flowers with her new friends (and yes, she considered them her friends already, without realizing they probably didn’t reciprocate). She perked up visibly, and her stomach made that weird sound that people call growling but was more like squelching. Still, she hardly noticed, because there was food involved! Okay, so they weren’t eating there… she gathered that much, though she wasn’t sure if she’d missed anything else. But what did it matter? She wouldn’t have understood what they were talking about, anyway, so her inner self-anger for being rude was rather half-hearted. Besides, she couldn’t deny her body of its desire for food; she was starved!
Though she walked with a cheery, spirited little bounce in her clumsy step, Aiko pitter-pattered into position behind Kardowin, acting like a little caboose. It was basically to make sure that Kardowin was undeniably in the lead; it was a subconscious submission, made out of respect to her superior. But when she realized that she was so close behind the woman, who seemed to have a place to eat in mind and was leading, she also realized that she should make sure she was behind Shade, too. Her subconscious self assumed he, too, would want to be submitted to, so she scampered back and stood behind the male demon, looking strange and out of place in her youth and in her rags, compared to this warrior in his experience and in his armor.

Kardowin stopped then looked over her shoulder. For a moment she thought they weren't coming, but it was just Aiko looking so patient waiting for Shade to fall in line. Kardowin half smiled seeing the look on shade's face, she bet he was not expecting it to turn out like this. (considering that they were going to face of one moment and Friends the next. Such an reaction was to be expected.) Trying hard not to laugh she faced forward and started walking again.
