Aftermath part 2 (Aiko & Sesshomaru)

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Merodi frowned, but didn't fight against Koga as he took her to her mat. She was a rather good distance away but she tried to watch what was happening. She made herself comfortable on the mat, watching her mate leave her side and back to their new guest. She curled up into a ball, bringing a hand to her stomach and imagining how much things would change. She would be a mother. That means she had to take care of herself more, be more responsible!

Merodi closed her eyes for a moment, trying to listen to them. Her stomach growled, and she was sure she hadn't eaten in a while. When was the last time she had eaten? Before this whole ordeal had began?

When their dragon demon guest was settled, the wolves dispersed, wandering over to their various parts of the cave. Koga plodded back towards Merodi, but as his pale eyes fell on her curled-up form, a bit of a bounce entered his step. A father! That’s what he was going to be. And Merodi, his sweet, precious, beloved Merodi was the mother. She was the mother of his child. Excitement stiffened in his veins again as the leader of the wolf demon tribe flounced back to his fragile-looking mate. Beneath the excitement, though, was a deep-rooted contentment that churned in his heart. His mate was bearing his child, which was exactly how it should be, how it had been meant to be since the beginning of time.

A mere moment later, Koga was crouched by his mate’s side, and his hand was resting on her soft, fuzzy arm. A rumbling complaint echoed in his sharp hearing, and his grin, which had already returned, softened a little. “Hungry, Merodi?” he whispered softly to her. He rubbed her arm for a moment, then stood and walked over to one of his wolf demons. With a few short phrases, he requested the finest grasses that could be found in this season [because in this thread, it’s still winter] and for sweet hay, for any early buds on the trees, and for berries. Wolves in nature sometimes ate berries, and he requested these same varieties, though he could only hope, belatedly since the runner had already dashed off, that Merodi would like these, too. This done, he turned and walked back to Merodi and he sat by her side, letting his fingers trail down her spine. “You’ll have food soon.”

It was only a couple minutes later when the runner padded up, his hair damp from the waterfall, bearing a pouch that was full of hay and tough grasses and berries and hardy fungus. Koga accepted the leather bag, and as the runner bowed to his leader and his leader’s mate before walking off, Koga offered the food-filled pouch to the deer demon. “Is this good?” he asked.

It didn't take long for Ryuu's eyes to open again. He removes his sheath leaving the blade behind as he moves up to his feet and slowly moves from their home, as he begins his own search for home. He fought the thought off the whole time he was there how wolvies was something on his menu, yet that would be more trouble then worth. He begins moving further away looking for other wild animals. He looks up seeing he was approaching other wolf demons.

Merodi smiled up at Koga, glad to have him at her mat. She still worried over their guest but she had other things to occupy her mind. Like the thought of being a mother. And the food that was going to be sent to her. She became excited, anticipated for the food that would be sent for her. She waited patiently, keeping herself comfortable on the mat. She continued to smile, feeling incredibly happy even with how things had started out with. She remembered that scary warrior, and the pain in her arm seemed to increase. She hoped she never had to see that frightful warrior again.

Merodi sat up as the food was placed in front of her. She smiled, her mouth watering as she took in the sight of the food in the pouch. "Yes, thank you!" she never felt so happier. Who would think she would be more in love with him as she was now. She nibbled on each different kinds of foods, enjoying each as if this was her first and last meal, all at the same time. She had never been so hungry before. Nor had she found it so difficult to eat politely.

In the middle of eating some berries the deer demon noticed the sudden disapearance of the dragon youkai. She frowned for only a moment before the hay distracted her. Soon the food was gone, and she stared down into the empty pouch, frowning in discontent. "I want something else..." she said, seemingly ashamed to say such a thing. She never ate so much before, and yet she was still hungry! Well...she wasn't really eating for herself anymore. Merodi was not sure on how to handle the increased intake of food. And the sudden craving she had. All the foods didn't satisfy her food craving as she had expected it to...

Koga was content to sit by Merodi, watching with the shadow of a smile flitting across his face as she eagerly dug into her tribe’s offerings. There was an amused cast to the wolf demon’s blue eyes as they followed the path of the deer demon’s grasping fingers as she ate with shocking speed. Koga didn’t think he’d ever seen his reserved, polite mate ever wolf down her food like this, but he found it rather funny. He sat there, leaning slightly against her, until she devoured all the contents of the packet. Chuckling at her words, he straightened, taking the pouch from his mate. “So you’ll get something else,” he told her. Motioning to the same wolf demon who’d gotten his pack-sister food before, he brought the runner trotting over and held out the now-empty pouch. Before the runner left, though, Koga motioned for him to wait and turned to his deer demon mate. “Anything else in particular?”

In another part of the cave, though, one young wolf demon had noticed the escape of Ryuukotsusei and, curious, followed the dragon demon as he went off. When he spotted the larger, older demon, the youth trotted up, his tongue lolling in a silly puppyish way. “If yer gonna be huntin’,” he said, guessing at the intent of the dragon demon, “ya can’t hunt deer, ‘kay? Our pack sister Merodi is a deer, so eating them is bad, ‘kay?” No matter what the dragon demon would say in response, the youth planned to tag along.

[Naraku]

Ryuukotsusei turned looking at the demon, He really didn't want a deer at the moment and and of course right now he didn't feel like chasing something if he didn't kill it in one swoop. He never said anything as he continues to move on. He looks around and tries to sniff in the air but his nose could only pick up the demon next to him for it. He slightly growled as it seem he wouldn't find anything close to the demon's lair. but to his own amazement in the distance he saw a rogue boar. not even acknowledging the demon with him he leaps up into a tree and less the a second came down slamming his claws into the boars throat breaking it spine. As Ryuu lifts the boar by its hind leg he seen another boar about to make a run for it from the bushes. ryuukotsusei pludged his claws into his neck breaking its neck. He was satisfied with his catch cause it was much more then he figured he would find. He lifted both of the boars and carried them back towards the camp. His eyes gleam catching the wolf who followed him. He still did not say anything and was much to hungry to speak and he did not wish to waste any more energy til after he fed. Not before long he was once again back at the side he was once sitting throwing the boars onto the cave's floor as he took a seat down beside them.

Merodi looked up at the pack member. She smiled her gratitude. It was nice of him to bring her the food. She felt a little guilty making him get more, but her hunger seemed to control her more then guilt. Turning her attention away from the wolf demon, she looked back at her mate. She pursed her lower lip in thought, before looking back toward the entrance as Ryuu returned. She stared at the two dead boars that he brought with him, a slight shudder running down her spine. The thought of killing, and the hunt made her a tad squeamish but she couldn't stop staring. After a moment she brought a finger to her lips almost biting on her nail as she spoke.

"C-could I try that...?" Merodi asked, her ears drooping as she was truly emberassed and ashamed at such a question. A deer trying to eat meat! Why did it such a food seem suddenly so appealing? Her mother had told her stories once, of a deer clan eating meat...a last choice for survival. But she didn't have such an excuse...

The wolf demon youth winced as the older and stronger demon gave him a look, but still pattered after him as he went on his hunt. The wolf demon was dreadfully curious about this strange Ryuukotsusei fellow, who’d apparently saved their pack sister from… well, his wild imagination took over from here. With wide, observant eyes, he watched as the dragon demon scaled a tree before coming crashing down on his prey. The cool skill with which Ryuukotsusei dispatched his prey filled the youthful demon with a chilling shiver of excitement. Such a display of strength! Why, it could probably even rival Koga’s!

The wolf demon immediately hung his head for such treacherous thinking.

Shocked into reverence, the canine demon trailed after the dragon demon back to the cave home of the wolves.

There, Koga was watching his mate with equal amusement and curiosity as she dithered. Like her, he was distracted for a moment as Ryuukotsusei deposited his haul in the middle of the cave floor. Admiration at the catch flared in the wolf leader’s pale eyes for a moment before he returned his intense gaze to Merodi.

At first, the wolf demon’s reaction was rather simple. “No, you can’t have that,” he chided gently, trying to explain what seemed to him to be obvious territorial etiquette. “That’s Ryuukotsusei’s catch, and we can’t force—”

Then the implications came crashing down like a blow to Koga’s skull.

“Meat?!” he exploded, leaping to his feet. “You’re saying you want meat?” He hadn’t meant to raise his voice, and hardly noticed as more than half of the demons in the cave turned to stare at their leader.

[Naraku]

Ryuukotsusei's brow rose as he heard the wolf demon shout out, but he was able to determined what was being said. Ryuu rasied his claws up between one of the boars slamming it down and through its fleah ripping it into two. the blood of the boar covered his arm but he just grabed one side by its leg and threw it towards the wolf and deer. he made no comment towards the two but to the other wolvies. "I have no intention of sharing my meal, so don't you dare make a move for it unless you wish to be my next meal."

He then looks towards the two that no doubt turned to him by his actions. "That's for the mother and child, so that goes for you too, wolf." He reaches lifting the other half up and sinking his fangs into the boar. Both bone and meat ripped and crushed within his fangs, he begin to eat all of the boar other leaving the pelt.

Yes, that was right. It was Ryuukotsusei's catch after all. Merodi couldn't expect him to at least give her a small nibble. Just to see if she would like it. She could maybe ask? She thought over this, her finger still at her lips, giving her a more thoughtful and hungry look. Her ears drooped more with Koga's outburst and she stared up at him, even more ashamed now that he found her question just as crazy as she probably should think it. She shouldn't have even asked...

Merodi's eyes widened in alert, ears perking to hear the tearing of flesh and she jumped, a bit startled to have meat being thrown near her. She stared at it, part of her disgusted by the dripping blood and fresh meat of a living organism. But another part of her was the reason she was slightly drooling.

The deer demon stared at it, not sure on what to actually do. She was slight afraid to pick it up, she didn't want blood on her! Finally she got the nerve to move toward the meat, reaching tentatively and grasping the bone part as she brought it to her. She pinched off a small bit of meat with her other hand and slowly placed it in her mouth. Chewing, she found it just as good as her mind told her it would and continue to pinch of bits after such a realization.

His mouth twisted down at the corners as Koga swiveled his head around to face Ryuukotsusei. Idiot interfering lizard bastard, he growled mentally, adding a few more choice names to the growing list. Actually, if he wasn’t so condescending about it, the wolf demon might actually appreciate the dragon’s willingness to share with his mate. As it was, though, the leader of the pack bridled at the dragon demon’s tone. A warning growl escaped through clenched teeth, a wordless but nevertheless strong recommendation for the dragon to shut his trap. “Stop acting like you’re the father,” he snarled as he crouched beside his mate again.

Annoyance faded into interest as Koga watched his mate inspect the leg of boar, and then snip off a piece with her fingers. Despite his shocked reaction to her announcement, he wasn’t at all angry about the revelation that Merodi wanted to eat meat. Perhaps if she ate meat, after all, she might understand him a little better. In a twisted way, the wolf demon half of the couple thought it might make them even closer… as if a child wasn’t bringing them close enough. It was this that caused him to watch with bated breath, legs rocking in anticipation, as Merodi nibbled. When she didn’t reply after the first bite, Koga demanded, “Well? Do you like it?”

[Naraku]

He lightly growlw back towards the wolf. "I have no interest in being a father, But I have no interest In sharing my feast, but could you have brought the meal any sooner then I gave it to her." He sings his fangs into the boar finishing it off as he begin to ponder to himself. ' Mangy wolvies never can be gratful.'

[Lord Sesshomaru]

Merodi frowned, looking between Koga and Ryuu. She continued to nibble on the meat though, it kept her occupied so that she wasn't too nervous with how they acted toward each other. She looked back up at Koga, thinking over his question as she smiled. "It's...odd, but I do like it..." admitting something like that emberassed her and she looked away, including to nibble away on the meat.

Merodi paused, looking back toward Ryuu as she remembered herself. Ah, th-thank you Ryuukotsusei-sama..."

[Aiko]

Koga jabbed an angry look in the dragon’s direction as the wolf demon heard his guest’s muttering. His eyebrows scrunched up over his narrowed eyes, and his upper lip curled in an animal snarl. Fingers tightened into fists again, and it took all of the wolf leader’s self-control to not send one of those clenched fists straight into Ryuukotsusei’s stomach. Oh, how Koga would have loved seeing what kind of marks his knuckles could leave on that other demon’s pompous mug. An entertaining vision of kicking the dragon bodily out of the cave danced behind Koga’s eyes for a moment, but he snorted and jerked his head away from his rude visitor. Merodi wouldn’t like it if he started fighting. In front of her, anyway.

Crouching by his mate’s side, Koga forced one of his hands to uncurl so he could place it on her back. As he felt the deer demon’s back muscles moving underneath his tense palm, he felt himself slowly begin to relax. The point was, Merodi was his, this tribe was his, and this whole territory was HIS. Not Ryuukotsusei’s. And if the dragon demon tried to push anything, then Koga could rip his arteries out, but not before. He had all he needed, right here beneath his one hand.

“I’m glad you like it,” he murmured to Merodi, using all his fragile willpower to ignore the dragon demon. “Would you want to go hunting with me sometime?” he suggested, struggling to distract himself from violent imagery that involved anything other than prey animals. The thought of hunting, of course, was exciting, but he’d probably be more excited about it later. Whatever the deer demon answered, Koga leaned his cheek against her, and couldn’t help shooting a glance at Ryuukotsusei as he did so.

[Naraku]

Ryuukotsusei could help but begin to laugh as he was now more energized after eating. He climb to his feet as he looks back at him. "For a wolf to give such a look, its quiet amusing. He begins to walk away as he looks back. "And do not thank me." He begins walking towards the entrance as he sees the wolf demon who followed him through the woods. He holds up the remaining boar part that he never got too. "Here, it seems I lost my appetiate during my stay."
He gives him the boar as he exits the cave and begins to look over the area.
