A few tricks

[Sango]

Her light blue eyes looked around as she scanned the village. It seemed as if everyone didn’t want her or Ken-Ichi there. She stood towards the middle of the village and looked around for Akiho. As she stood there she took in the smells of cooking food which made her stomach growl. She had ate this morning but it was not much. She placed Ken-Ichi on her shoulder and looked around as everyone shot her dirty looks. She hoped that Akiho arrived soon.

He walked into the village, his hands in his pockets. He didn't much like the way they were treating Yoko and he gave them all looks back. He stopped beside Yoko. "Not to friendly here are they?" he said. "Come on, let's get out of the open." He said, looking at her This village wasn't too kind, but there wasn't much he could do about that. He started to walk forwards. He looked back at her, telling her to come on.

[Sango]

Yoko smiled as she watched Akiho come into sight. She smiled as he walked over to her and he gave the villagers the same looks that they where giving her. “Yea, that sounds like a good idea.” She said as she began to walk into an alley. She signed as she petted Ken-Ichi and sat down in the alley. She wondered why she was looked at like that, was it because she was not from here? She figured that the people would be a little more friendly.

As they walked into the alley, he leaned up against a nearby tree. He looked at her. She semed to be thinking about how those villagers looked at her. He sighed. "Don't think too much of it, Yoko. I'm sure they have their reasons." he said, tring to make her feel better. He didn't much like it when others were sad. Akiho walked over to her and sat beside her. "Try not to worry about it, k?" he said, smileing at her.

[Sango]

Yoko smiled. “Oh, I am not too worried about it. We will just have to show them that we don’t want to harm their village is all.” She watched as he came and sat down beside of her. She looked out of the alley and watched as the villagers just passed, now with different expressions on their faces. They seemed sad now. She wondered why this village was the way it was but as Akiho had said, they probably had their reasons. She stood up and put her hands together as if she was about to say grace. She closed her eyes and laughed lightly. “Well, lets get going and see what this village has to offer then we can find a way to help them.” She said as she began to head out of the alley, Ken-Ichi at her side.

Akiho smiled and stood up and began to walk back out of the alley with her. "Yeah, I'm sure they warm up to us after a while, Yoko." He said. "These villagers really change moods pretty fast, eh?" He grinned as he spoke. "Well, let's go around and ask some people here." he said as he began walking.

[Sango]

Yoko turned around so she could hear him better. “Yea, they do change moods pretty quickly.” She said as she walked over to a food stand and began to talk to the stand keeper. “Hi, ummm….what do you have that is cheap? We are kinda short on money.” She said as she pulled a small brown bag out of her pocket and began to look through it. She was more broke than she thought, she had nothing. “How about this sir, me and my companion here can help you out around your home with repairs or anything like that, we promise that we are not thieves so you have nothing to worry about.” She watched as he shot her a weary eye and then nodded his head, agreeing to their little deal. He had told her to come by in the morning and that Akiho and Yoko could stay in the traveler’s hut for free of charge since he was the one that owned it and he had given them some food to last them until they got the repairs on his home done. She turned to Akiho and smiled. “You don’t mind do you?” She asked as she rubbed the back of her head. She didn’t even bother to ask him if he wanted to do this.

Akiho ajusted his jacket and headband and started forwards with Yoko to the small store..or market. He wasn't really familar with the sort of shopping, so he wasn't all that sure about what to call it. He grinned and stood beside Yoko. When she pulled out the bag with nothing in it, he sighed, but was still, slightly, smiling. He blinked as she made a deal with him. He didn't mind at all, it wasn't like they had much of a choice anyways. I mean, they'd have to work anyways if they wanted to eat. He looked at her when she asked if that was okay. "Huh, oh, yeah..It's fine." he said. "Either way yopu look at it, we'd have to find some sort of work anyways." he laughed, scratching the back of his head.

[Sango]

Yoko smiled as Akiho agreed to do this with her. “So, let’s go check out the hut.” She said as she looked around. The man had not told her where it was or where his house was. Great. She looked around but couldn’t find it. “Excuse me miss.” She said to a passing by woman. “Would you happen to know where the travelers hut is?” The woman pointed to a hill. “Thank you.” Yoko said as she bowed and then looked to Akiho. “Well, I guess that is where we have to go.” She said as she held the food that the man had given to her and began to head off towards the hut. Ken-Ichi jumped off of her shoulder and ran towards the hut faster than Yoko was walking.

Akiho nodded, "Alright, then." he answered. He started walking forwards with her, but then, at about the same time Yoko did, realized the man hadn't told them where to go. Yoko had asked a woman where he lived, she pointed to the hill. Akiho nodded to the woman and started to walk to the hill with Yoko. Yup, guess so." he said.

[Sango]

When they had reached the hut Yoko sighed and looked around. “Well, I guess this is it.” she said as she pushed back the curtain door and walked in. It was a little dusty inside but nothing that she couldn’t clean up real quick. She looked as Ken-Ichi ran in as well and began to scamper around. Yoko set her bags down in the middle of the floor beside of a pile of wood. She took the food out and placed it beside of the fire so she could cook it later. She looked over to Akiho and smiled. “So what now? He said he would come and get us.” She said as she sat on the floor.

Akiho followed her in. It was pretty dirty, but otherwise, not too bad. He looked around, then landed his eyes on Yoko as she spoke. "Not sure." He said. Akiho tightened his headband and walked over to Yoko. "What do you want to do?" he asked her. He really didn't care what they did, he was pretty bored now and didn't really want to sit down and do nothing.

[Sango]

Spiders crawled in the corner making their webs to catch their next meal and this place; it seemed as if it hadn’t been occupied in years. She took her pointer finger and ran it across the floor. When she brought it up she looked at the grey on her finger. She rubbed it on her skirt and listened to what Akiho had said. “Well, since we are staying here for awhile.” She walked over to her bag which was lying at the entrance of the hut and pulled out a rag and a container of water. “I guess if you want you could just sit here and we could talk while I clean or you could go out into town.” She said as she began to get the rag wet.

When she was satisfied with it she began to rub it on the floor. You could instantly tell where she had been scrubbing. She made sure that there was no dirt where she was cleaning at and when there was none she moved on to another place. She would occasionally look over to Akiho and smile to him. Ken-Ichi sat at the entrance of the door beside of her bag as his plume began to wag gently back and forth as his eyes closed.

Akiho listwened to her suggestions to what he could do, but thought it seemed like he would be doing nothing. "Well, why don't I help you, then?" he suggested. He didn't want to leave it all to her, besides, in his time, everyone, well, they were suppose to, did their own fair share of the work. So he thought it was only fair if he did some cleaning to. Besides, he kind of liked to clean, every once and awhile. He got out a wash cloth from his jacket pocket and knelt down to help Yoko out. "In my time, everyone does their fair share. Well, usually, so I'd like to help out. Besides, cleaning will be alot easier with this. I was coming home from the store, or marken as you might call it, when I was sent here." He pulled out a cleaner and sprayed some on the floor and wiped it up with the cloth, the spot was pretty spottless now and he's bearly put any effort into it. "See, the bonus is it'll give the place a fresh scent." he joked, grinning.

[Sango]

When he spoke her gaze turned from the floor up to him and a smile began to etch onto her rose hued lips. “That would be great.” She said as she kept scrubbing on the floor with circular motions. When his voice reached her ears once more she stopped so she could listen to him. “Your time…it sounds very nice.” Her eye lids covered her eyes as she laughed lightly. She opened them once more and watched with a hint of confusion on her face. Just what was this? She looked at the can and seen how he had hardly made an effort to clean the floor while she was almost using all of her strength to clean that one spot. “Wow Akiho! What is this stuff?” She asked as she took in a deep breath. It smelled nice, something she had never seen before.
