The night sky was bright with stars, shimmering and glistening with light as they proudly broke through the darkness in the black colored sky. The moon was full, a large flashlight in the dark that made the land look eerie and magical. A dark figure appeared from the trees slowly coming out of the shadows to stand at the edge of the river that reflected the light of its still surface. It was a young girl, brown fur covered her body, her ears like a deer a top her head. Large doe-like brown orbs staring into the water, and her hoof-like fingers fiddling with a loose string on her sleeve. Her nose was black, and her nostrils flared for a moment as she sniffed the air for enemies. Her short tail twitching every once in a while.
The young shika gulped nervously, glancing toward the opening in the trees in which she had came from. She had to do this. It was a full moon, and her ritual was needed for her good luck. It was something she did every year. Sing her new song to the moon and in return, the moon would give her blessing. Something hre parents had told her a long time ago. She had sneaked away from camp when she felt that the Koga-sama was asleep. And how here she was, filling her lungs with the new crisp air and letting her song surround the area.
" see you when it snows in crystals dancing down from a sultry sky when silence is pure and unbreakable I can see you smiling in every frozen tear I can hear you whisper "You and I?
little did we know that they were life itself the days passing by we both had our share in the sacrifice
once upon a time we had something beautiful once upon a time I thought "you and I?
take me wherever the answer lingers in the sand show me the way as the story unfolds love is remote in this wailing winter wonderland show me the way to the temples of gold
bless me with a kiss across the universe when day and night converge and whisper my name till I fall asleep
tell me tales from days bygone tell me little lies tell me once again it's just "you and I?" ((temples of gold by Kamelot))

Sashia walked around in the darkened night through the trees she walked as she heard singing she wasn't sure if this was a person wondering alone or a demon ready to fight her off.She looked through the dark and then to the moon, she had always liked the full moon, when she was a girl, she hadn't really noticed that the light from the moon was piercing down on her,she smiled at the Moon and then continued walking toward the singing. She approached her as she was caring her weapon,She smiled at the young girl and walked toward her.
"Beautiful song, why where you singing up to the moon." she asked walking toward the river, she was walking to see her reflection, she hadn't looked in the water for ages, she barley new the person staring back at her,she looked over to the girl once more and saw her hooves and ears. "What are you little girl." she said walking back toward her once again.

The young shika immediately halted her singing when the other female came to the area. Immediately she froze like a deer in the head lights, eyes wide in fear, and her face flushed in emberassment in being caught singing. It was just like that night...long ago. It was just like this that that human lord had come upon her and taken her away, awed by her voice. She shivered, muscles tense as she watched the new person, ready to dash to safety. She would just have to make it back to camp where Koga-sama was. But she couldn't move. The woman's voice kept her in place.
Why was she singing up to the moon?
If she wasn't so afraid she might have answered, but she did not. With her next question, the shika gulped, clearing her throat so that she could answer the woman so she wouldn't make her angry. When people were angered, bad things happened. She didn't want to be harmed any time soon. 'I'm not a little girl." she thought to herself. The young shika looked to be fifteen to sixteen but in demon years she was over twenty. To her herd, she was still a young girl, but she was not little.
"I am a shika." she answered, her voice no more then a whisper. She was scared out of her wits right now. She wanted to run, but she could not, her legs her like stone, and her feet seemed to be glued in place. Even as she wished Koga would suddenly appear, she took it back immediately. She didn't want to bother his sleep, and it was her own fault for leaving. Why couldn't she learn her lesson? But no, nothing would keep her from the moon ritual.

she reached out her hand in kindness. "No need to be alarmed or afraid,I am Sashia, sorry if I frightedned you." she said as she had walked closer to the young girl, she didn't want to scare her off.She looked at the frightened girl."Are you all alone." she asked she wanted to help the girl if she was in need of some.
She walked a step closer, she walked slow so she wouldn't scare her any more than she was.She was close to her and then placed her hand on the young Shika's Shoulder. She looked up at the moon."where you singing to the moon for something." she asked another question she wasn't wanting to frighten her any more,so she sat down her wepond and then smiled her sweetest smile at the young Shika.

Merodi stood stock still, listening to the woman's words. Sashia? That's who this person was...? She frowned, ears pointing in Sashia's direction as she continued to speak. She was sorry? This stranger wasn't here to harm her? Could she trust this person? No, she was still scared, and wary of the person. She tensed even more when the woman started to walk toward her. With her question of being alone, the young shika hesitantly nodded her head. She was alone now, but she had Koga. She didn't want her to know that though...or maybe she should have said so. Or, she didn't know!
Walking closer, and closer, and closer. Merodi was shaking more and more with each step the woman took, frightened so much that she was about to run until Sashia placed her hand on her shoulder. She tensed, frozed solid for a long time, staring at the woman's face as she looked toward the moon and spoke. Merodi wasn't used to being touched. The only one that had touched her in such a gesture had been Koga-sama....but she trusted him. This person, this stranger, was still stronger, could still be plotting to capture her, or do something with her. Merodi just didn't know what that was.
Merodi bowed her head in defeat, staring at her hoof-like feet. "Yes, for the blessing of the kami of the moon." she muttered.

Did Merodi really think that she could sneak off so easily? Did she really think that she was clever enough, quick enough, and strong enough to pull the wool over the great Koga’s eyes?
If so, she was right, because when the wolf demon awakened with a mind to find something to drink and perhaps a little snack to hold him over until dawn, he realized that something was amiss. Slumped against a tree, where he had ended up zoning out, he had a good view of Merodi’s sleeping place. Or, as it was, a clump of grass, seeing as Merodi was missing from it.
A little groggy, Koga stumbled to his feet, blinking. Now where would a timid shika youkai like his companion be in the middle of the night? And alone, no less. Could it be that another demon was after her? It had happened last time he had let Merodi out of his sight, when a shard-equipped oni slashed open her back. But there was no sign of a struggle, and the only scents of demons were hers and his.
Scalp prickling, the wolf demon wandered forward, relying on his nose. Merodi’s sweet scent, a mixture of woodlands and short fur with just a hint of nervousness, not to mention something softer and more aromatic, guided him away from the place where they had made camp, and he followed the invisible path through the forest, meandering around trees.
Soon he was close enough to sense the demonic aura of Merodi, but the presence of another was also there. He was approaching the place where the trees thinned, and that sense that they were not alone was all too strong, even though he couldn’t see them. The thought that entered Koga’s mind was instantaneous.
Merodi’s in trouble!
Any smart demon would have hunkered down behind a tree, listened to the conversation, and figured out the situation before planning the next move. That way, if any fighting had to be done, it would be done cleanly, and with no giving away the position, so the element of surprise was key. But we never claimed that Koga, clever as he was, always kept his head.
His companion was in trouble, undoubtedly. Her fear was practically tangible! There was no time for waiting; action was now!
Making his grand entrance, Koga leapt out of the trees, glaring around wildly with his fiercest face. There! That half-demon who was sitting around on the ground! Not bothering to wonder why she was sitting around if Merodi was in such horrible danger, he roared, “Oi! Come and fight me, bitch!” Raising his fists, the wolf demon danced back and forward, from foot to foot, challenging the hanyou to come and fight, if she dared!

Merodi was confused about this woman before her. To the young shika, it was more surprising to be kind then it was to be cruel. Pain was something she always expected to find when meeting people. But there was no pain when the woman had touchd her shoulder, no intent in her eyes, or her smile. Merodi was left awed on how kind Sashia was being. Was it all a trick? As a deer, she was so hesitant, so nervous, so wary. But slowly, bit by bit she was starting to believe that this woman didn't mean her any harm. She had put down her weapon, and was sitting down. A position that left the woman vulnerable if Merodi could find it in herself to retaliate. It would also be harder for her to stand and follow if the young shika decided to run. She trully didn't want to sit down and leave herself vulnerable, but apart of her knew that Sashia expected her to. What if she did not? Would the woman get angry? Would she be punished?
Merodi gulped, uncertain on what she should do. Finally, she decided to sit down, but before she could do so another figure made its appearance, startling the poor shika where she yelped in fear before the voice, and the figure became something familiar. Koga-sama!! She watched, shocked and confused as Koga challenged the woman and got ready for battle. She glanced ferverantly from Sashia to Koga, not knowing what to do. Should she stop him from fighting her? Or should she just stay out of it? Oh, but this was all her fault!!
"No Koga, she means no harm...or, I think..." she muttered the last part to herself, but still could be heard by the other. She walked to Koga's side, bowing her head. "I am sorry Koga for sneaking off, please forgive me." She immediately believed that Koga knew about her leaving the camp. She also thought that he must be very angry with her for doing so. Oh, she hoped he wasn't too mad. Maybe that's why he was trying to pick a fight with Sashia.((actually, I made that whoever else just for koga ))

"As the young girl has said,I mean no harm, please I do not wish to battle, unless nessasary."she promised him.She was at ease with him,all she wanted was to be kind to them."I wish to be at peace with all." she had added, she got up from the misty grass. She picked up her wepand and put it on her back."I mean you both no harm." she said walking to them, she stared at the sparkling moon, with a smile to his challenge,"I am not able to fight with you kind sir." she said looking back at them."I have turned human tonight,my wepand is useless."she added unsure that that would change his mind of his challenge.
She smiled at Koga. "Instead would you be so kind to tell me your name."she asked him,she just knew that he wouldn't except the kindness she had offered him.

Koga’s head swung from side to side, trying to listen to both Merodi and this other crazy chick at once, all the while keeping up his fighting stance. Too many people talking at once! But their messages both had one thing in common; this half-demon who, now that the wolf demon bothered to pay attention, had the body and aura of a human but scent of a demon didn’t mean to harm the gentle deer demon. Or so they said; Koga was still skeptical. How could someone, after all, act so sweet and kind after being called a bitch?
Okay, were they both done talking? Alright, Koga turned to address Merodi first, slackening out of his fighting stance but remaining stiff and glancing every so often at this other woman, ready to maul her if she was up to anything fishy. But he had to speak with his contrite companion first.
“No worries,” he assured her. “You’re not my prisoner; you can leave whenever you want.” Unintended as it was, this had a double meaning, again letting mild Merodi know that it was her choice to stay with him, despite his original threats and demands when they had first met. As with many other things, Koga had deemed that unimportant and completely forgotten. Now, she was only a companion, though he had already forgotten why. But it didn’t matter anyway; she was as good as pack mate now, and the pack looks out for its members.
Speaking of which, it was time to address the other speaker, the one who hefted a weapon behind her back. No matter what she said, Koga knew that she could attack if she wanted. His greatest weapon, after all, was his own body, and so could this strange newcomer’s, and she was just hiding it.
“The name’s Koga,” he growled fiercely, adding, “If you’ve got a problem with that, bite me.” Glaring at her with his usual fierce glower, he continued, “So what’s your name, half-demon?” Despite his tone that might be taken by a touchy someone as an insult, it was his usual greeting; Merodi had received the same type when they’d first met.

Merodi smiled toward Koga as he spoke. She knew she was not his prisoner, but she felt bad if she had caused him any worry. Of course, such a thing would have been shocking to her. To think, a wolf would worry over a deer. But she had seen it with her own eyes and it left her all warm inside. And her smile showed of the warmth that such knowledge gave her. None other had worried over her so. Even when she was little, it had seemed that the worry was fake. It was not she they worried for, but her voice, and the blessings it brought that brought most to ask of her health. It was all in the past now, and only Koga, and this travel was the present. Such thoughts almost brought a blush to her cheeks but she distracted herself by turning her attention toward Sashia as Koga spoke to her.
Merodi tried all her might to stifle her giggle with his words after stating his name. She even brought a hand to her mouth to hide her smile, but even so, she couldn't hold back her comment. "That would be quite dis-pleasurable." As soon as the words left her mouth, the smile faded and a startled look came across her face. Oh kami, did she just say that out loud!!??
"G-gomen, I spoke out of term!" She spoke with alarm, and lowered her head to try hard to hide the embarrassed blush that stained her entire face, down to her neck. Could she be anymore stupid?! Yes, she had and would continue to slip what came out of her mouth, and what came from her actions.

Koga was surprised, and it showed as he lost concentration and turned to stare, gaping subconsciously, at his deer demon companion. Had she been… joking? Or did she mean that Koga tasted bad? Because he assumed that she meant unpleasant for the half-demon, for reasons that escape intelligent reasoning. Either way, this was something new: Merodi had showed a bit of her own spark! Never mind how she reverted back to her submissive nature instantly afterward, because she had shown a bit of personality!
To Koga, this seemed like a milestone!
His gawking replaced by a quick grin, Koga teased, “Come on, how would you know how I taste?” As an afterthought, he added, “Don’t answer that.” Whether or not this would make any sense to either of them, it didn’t matter. The whole purpose for this was for Merodi to lighten up a bit, and stop her constant apologies. Didn’t she realize that her wild-hearted comrade didn’t mind in the slightest, so long as she didn’t get too big for her britches? He’d dealt with worse than a smart-mouthed deer demon, not to mention a smart-mouthed deer demon whom he held in high regard for her resolve.
And the half-demon was all but forgotten.

Merodi was finally able to calm her blush, that made her look like a bright red tomatoe, when Koga spoke up. She brought her head up to look in his direction, surprised that he had a grin on his face. He wasn't mad? To joke, when he was trying to make himself seem intimidating? She had ruined that moment of his retaliation of anyone that dared to think less of his name. And he didn't mind that? That such a joke made him seem less scary when he was trying to be. She gulped, before a small smile came across her face, his comment almost making her blush return. How he tasted? Oh goodness, there were so many different meanings in that question that left her with her very first dirty thought. And of Koga none the less!!
Merodi mentally punished herself for thinking such things. Of course, she wouldn't have answered him even if he didn't state to not answer. "I meant for you, Koga." she said with a small laugh, becoming more and more confident that he didn't mind her small joke. Good, that was good. Though she promised herself not to speak out of term again.
Even Merodi had forgotten Sashia, just as Koga-sama did. But she remembered the half-demons presence when she spoke up. The young shika didn't know who she was speaking to, so she didn't say anything. Even if Sashia had been speaking to her, she wouldn't have anything to reply with anyway. But it was very nice to know that the one before her and Koga was not cruel.
Merodi couldn't believe at how much relief came from one statement.
