Even as the sun began to move its way over the sky, giving light to the world and blinding those who have just awoken, Merodi stayed asleep. Normally, she would be sensitive to those types of things. She normally woke up just before the sun arose, her body keeping her on a tight schedule. Of course, it had gone a little loopy when she had slept through the whole day that one time when they went to see Kagome.
"What are you doing?" though she wasn't as sensitive as she normally was in waking up, Koga's loud voice reached her unconscious mind in loud echoes. Immediately her eyes snapped open and she jumped back, her weight pushing her to the ground with a loud lump. She tried to calm her breathing, and her loudly beating heart. That was not the way she wanted to wake up in the morning!! But after she calmed, she understand what he was talking about. So, he did end up being mad that she had slept against him....
"I-I'm sorry Koga....I..." she didn't know what else to say, and she took advantage of the silence to sit herself up straight again. She didn't know why she had done it, last night. She couldn't give him any excuse or reason that didn't seem stupid, so she didn't try and explain herself.

Having gotten up with Merodi, Koga had to endure another of her frantic, half-formed apologies. Man, even this early, she managed to rattle one out, and the wolf demon wasn’t exactly fond of them to begin with. But to be trying one so early in the morning? Forget about it, he had other things to deal with. Well… first, he supposed he could take care of the issue of the deer demon’s apparent contriteness. Besides, what was she sorry for, anyway? It wasn’t as though he was really mad about her falling asleep on… where she did; he was just wondering.
“Stop apologizing,” he ordered, his annoyance with this eternally repentant nature betrayed by his tone, and he knew it. “Look,” he added desperately, not wanting to have her acting all gloomy for the rest of the day for “making Koga-sama angry.” Make him angry? Ha! As if she was one to worry about incurring his wrath, when there were others out there who should be worrying about that. “It’s not something to be sorry about. It sounds like you hate falling asleep like that or something.”
…did she?
For once, Koga wondered. Did she dislike him? That would hurt. Strange, but the thought that she despised him, or even might, made him have a strong desire to break things. Hesitant, he glanced away from her, pretending he was dropping the issue.
And as he did so, he was reminded of another issue he had to deal with. Funny, but when he decided to say something to Merodi, he had half-forgotten about the other problem. Of course, trying to keep her from going all “doom and gloom” did take a bit of attention, but now there was a different, pressing issue that was screaming for his attention in the form of an empty space by the river, occupied the night before by a human who was apparently a half-demon.
“Now where’d that half-demon go?” he wondered aloud, looking around with obvious confusion. Closing his eyes, he decided to let his nose do the looking, and was rewarded by the human scent, normally frowned upon by demons but actually not that terrible when one got used to it, popping out at him, more pungent than any of the forest smells that were beneath the blatantly clear path the half-demon had left.
Answering his own question, he opened his eyes, facing the direction. “That way. Well, let’s go.”

Merodi was regretting allowing herself to fall asleep in such a position. He seemed so mad at her...she should have known better! She frowned, biting on her lower lip and staring at the ground as Koga spoke. Stop apologizing? But she had made him angry, she didn't want that. It hurt her to make him angry. She took in a deep breath, glancing back up at him as he continued. Hate falling asleep like that? If she had, she would have never been able to fall asleep. She wanted to say something, she truly did, but decided against it. What should she say? 'oh no, your shoulder is a very comfortable pillow!'. Yeah...that would be very emberassing for her. It was true, but something told her that Koga didn't want to hear it.
Merodi looked back to the ground again before looking around her surroundings when it seemed Koga didn't want to talk about what happened any longer. Of course, she felt a little sad that she couldn't sleep on his shoulder anymore. Not as comfortable as grass, but it was great to wake up to....if you weren't waken up by yelling first.
As she thought these things her gaze fell on the ampty spot where Sashia once had been. She was confused at first, and turned her head left and right to see if she was nearby, but the hanyou was nowhere to be seen. Merodi frowned in thought. She didn't even say goodbye. With Koga's question she didn't even look at it, but replied with a small shrug of her shoulders.
With his next statement she got to her feet to follow him. She wondered what the hanyou was doing. She hoped that she didn't want them to follow. Maybe that was why she left. Or maybe something had happened. She wouldn't be able to leave it alone anyway, even if Sashia didn't want to be found, she would be found out anyway.

Turning to give Merodi a long look, Koga narrowed his eyes slightly, as though this would show him what he wanted to know. What was she thinking, anyway? Was she going to follow him? Seeing as she had gotten up, he guessed yes, but why? Did she dislike him, and was she just to scared to do anything but obey his every whim and wish? The thought was, strangely, depressing; the crazy demon didn’t have to follow him, she wasn’t his slave. Was that why she had left the night before?
And why the heck were these thoughts back, anyway?
Well, why-ever they had snuck back into his mind when he had tried so hard to distract himself by looking for the half-demon, they were there now. Turning away from the deer demon, Koga added, “On second thought, you don’t have to.” Wait, was he taking back an order? Didn’t that make him look weak? Blustering, he rambled on, “I mean, just… just do as you please, alright?”
Damn, he always seemed to screw these things up, didn’t he? Alright already, he had a half-demon to attend to, and he could deal with Merodi later. Perhaps they could discuss this somewhere else, at some other time. Whether she followed him or not, he’d find her later. “Forget it,” he muttered, face feeling warm. That seemed to happen a lot, seeing as he always screwed up things around Merodi. He guessed he just didn’t know how to deal with someone so compliant and timid.
Unable to bear standing there acting like the biggest idiot in the world, Koga took off, ramming his feet against the ground. The forest that he was running through began to become a dangerous labyrinth, where a wrong step could take him sailing right into a tree trunk. At least with the imminent danger, he had to break off his thoughts about that puzzling Merodi, and focus on his insane charging around, legs and arms pumping as he felt the wind scream past his ears.
Abruptly, he lost the scent of the half-demon, and he skidded to a stop. Normally, it would have taken a few more seconds than it did, but normally there wasn’t a tree in his way. Feet slipping on soft leaf-mold, Koga collided with the hard trunk, and, witnessing a slash of scarlet across his vision, stumbled back, dazed. When he shook his head to clear the momentary dizziness, he lifted his face to the wind and sniffed. Nope, not his imagination; the scent was gone.
Wondering, What the hell is up with this?, Koga backtracked, looking around warily. Trees, trees, and more trees; no sight or scent of a crazy half-demon charging around. But, slowly, the scent was wafting back to him, but where was its source? Cautious, he walked forward, until the scent was overpowering. Okay, so he could smell that demon-human mixture that could only be expected from a half-demon, but where the hell was she? If he was to trust his nose, and he did completely, she should be right there.
Ideas slowly, very slowly, crawling into mind, he glanced from side to side, glanced up, and, finally, glanced down, and found himself looking at her head not far from his feet. Smirking, he dropped into a crouch and leaned over her.
“Found you,” he said triumphantly.

Merodi couldn't help but worry about Sashia. Even though she had just met the person, she was nice enough to gain a little of the deer demon's trust. She hoped she was alright, and that was what they would be finding out. She frowned suddenly, Koga's words leaving her shocked for a moment. Huh....? She didn't have to? What was he saying. She stared at him, a confused look on her face as he continued. Do as she pleased? Why was he saying that? Did she give off a bad vibe? Did he think she would get in the way? She didn't know, but it kind of hurt that he didn't want her with him. She hid it well, nodding her head dumbly. Though she regretted nodding her head.
Darn, she wanted to go with him! And all he was doing was just giving her the choice of coming or not. She still could have come! Though it was too late. Though he had said 'forget it' she wasn't able to follow. He was out of there fast, running at top speed and leaving her in the clearing with nothing but the sound of his departure and his scent still lingering in the air. She stared, almost longingly at the place he had left. Realizing how she was staring to his chosen path she shook her head and walked closer to the river before sitting down at the edge, staring into the water at her reflection.
Merodi would stay here, deep in thought until he returned.

Sashia hadn't awoken right away. She was still out of it from forcing herself to wake up so early and trancforming. It still got to her,she always had gotten weak and skowly feel to her knees when she was changing. Her whole life it was the same. When she was younger she had changed back into a half demon and hadn't woken up for over 3 days.
The sun was down on her cheek. She didn't know she wasn't alone until some shade fell over her and her cheeks had turned from bright red to it's normal shade of peach. She looked up at the man who was crouched over her and had spoken to her.She didn't reconize it at first. She then looked up at the man and noticed through all of her blurry vision. She tried to get up and talk but it was hard.she looked up as much as she could, triying to lift herself up,so she could sit down infront of them. But soon after she had fallen down from half way off the grass. She was trying her hardest not to pass back out because she new if she had she wouldn't wake up,not very soon. She was up as long as she could, but soon found herself passed out once again, with no mostion. It had looked like she was dead.

Whoa! What happened?
Koga squinted at the half-demon, and leaned even closer to her. From his angle, it had looked like she died or something. No… she was just passed out. It had looked for a moment as though she was awake and well, but now, slumped down on the ground, he thought, That can’t be comfortable. Huh. Wonder why she’s like this. Her chest was rising and falling, sure, but she seemed pretty much unaware of anything. It was weird, because he couldn’t imagine why she was like this.
Sighing, he rolled back upwards and crossed his arms, staring down at the fallen form in exasperation. Seriously, what did she think she was doing, running off before morning just to pass out here? If she was that tired, she should have just stayed where she was and slept a while longer! Females really are weird creatures, he mused as he glared at the stupid hanyou. But speaking of stupid females…
It appeared as though Merodi hadn’t followed him. Well, yeah, it was kinda obvious she hadn’t, because he didn’t see her anywhere. Damn… he thought, still looking around anyway. What was her problem? Why hadn’t she left him before? Why the hell did she pick now of all times? Obviously, she had decided that she had issues with him, and no longer wanted to affiliate herself with him. She was so strange, stupid, capricious, and annoying! But he wouldn’t have to deal with her any more, if she had left him, right?
Frustrated, Koga whipped around and punched a nearby tree, bruising his knuckles and sending a few splinters into his tough skin. She was such an idiot, so why was he so angry with her now? Was her leaving really such a bad thing? Of course not! Hell, he could probably do what he wanted a lot better without her timid figure prancing around behind him. So why the hell was he still thinking about her? Why was he feeling so livid now that he realized she’d left?
Damn! I guess she was more useful than I thought, he reasoned, as he bent down to drag the half-demon into a rough sitting position. She must’ve had something going for her, seeing as I kinda miss her. He half-smiled, a rueful look, when he thought, You know, I kinda liked her. Something about that timid exterior over a slightly sassier, but still respectful, interior… he searched for the right word… amused him? Intrigued him? Yeah, well, whatever. She was gone now, since she hadn’t followed him. He guessed he’d just have to get used to it, a thought that made him grimace. Hell, he liked the company…
Koga scooped up the unconscious form of the half demon, trying to shift her so her head wouldn’t loll around. Like a giant doll, she was limp in his hands, and he stared up in exasperation. If he had a free hand, he probably would have been dragging it down his face. What should he do with her? It just didn’t seem chivalrous to leave her lying around in the dirt. He could at least try to wake her.
Taking off, he loped back towards the river, weaving through the forest at a considerably slower pace. When he burst into the light at the edge of the trees, he had to twist at the waist and skid to a halt to keep from pitching headfirst into the turbulent river water, dragging the half-demon with him. He was upstream, and upwind, of the place he had slept the night before. Had he looked around, he might have seen a bit of Merodi above the grass, but she had gone, of course, so why would he be looking for her?
Koga knelt down gently, before unceremoniously dropping the half-demon onto the ground. If that didn’t wake her, this would: he reached down, scooped a handful of chilly water, and splashed it at her face.

It seemed like she had waited forever for Koga's return. She would have followed him, she wanted to, but she knew that if she tried she would lose him, and then end up getting lost. Including with the speed he had taken off with. Either he was trying to get away from her, or he forgot how fast he could go with his speed. She narrowed her eyes at the river, for a moment getting impatient. But it passed, he must be busy...must be still looking for Sashia. He would come back right? The thought that he wouldn't almost brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't be alone again. Including when she had spent time with Koga. She didn't understnad how she had gone so far without company. Without Koga.
Merodi frowned, deep in thought as she stared at her reflection in the calm water. Her ears perked up, the sound of splashing water came to her ears and she immediately turned her head in the direction of the sound. And the all too familiar scent of Koga came to her. She waited for a second, waiting for him to come down stream to join back with her, but he didn't. Her brows furrowed, did he forget where she was? She brought herself to her feet and slowly walked beside the river, following the scent before she came to Koga.
Seeing him, she felt like she had to say something. She opened her mouth, hesitated, but finally got out what was on her mind. "I wanted to follow...but you were too fast." she smiled apologetically. Maybe because she wasn't fast enough to keep up with him. Maybe because even if she had gone with him she wouldn't have been any help....that she had given the impression that she hadn't wanted to follow....just because it wasn't the impression she wanted to give. She didn't know if it affected him in anyway, but to make it seem like something that it is not just wasn't what she wanted to do. Even if Koga hadn't really cared, or noticed, or anything. It affected her and that's all that was needed.

Sashia slowly woke up from the chilly water, trying to catch her breath after freezing and not being able to force her self t breath. She looked up hearing voices, and then looked to see how was there. She made a weak smile and then stared at the sun, that was drying the cold water off,and making her sweat, She noticed it was morning and sprung up. "Morning" she yelled.after springing up so quckly she soon found out that wasn't such a good Idea. She had now a moment of pain in her back and a terrible head ack. "Oh,that hurt."she said, her voice was a little grawgy from in the morning like usual.she looked over at them with a hand on her forehead.

Koga was never famous for masking his emotions, except behind a mask of irritation. Even so, a flash of shock, he knew, crossed his face as he looked up into Merodi’s sadly smiling face. But then it was gone, replaced by that almost ever-present air of annoyance, and he narrowed his eyes dutifully up at the deer demon, letting his eyebrows knit slightly. “I knew that,” he lied. “Anyone would know that!” Pretending to be busy with the half-demon, he stared down at her, feeling the strangest relief. He felt like hopping up and hugging her out of surprised gratitude, but seriously, how weird would that be?
No weirder than the hanyou suddenly jumping to her feet like she was jolted by lightning. Koga had needed to quickly bend back out of her way as she flew into the air and, caught off-guard, struggled up to stand over her, feeling his feet skid slightly on dewy grass. Once up, he managed to give the half-demon his best “you’re-really-annoying-I-hope-you-know” glares, and crossed his arms. The sun was hardly risen, and already the females were jumping about in their crazed capricious ways. His eyebrow twitched very slightly; he could feel the little jump in his muscle.
Slowly, in an attempt at subtleness, he made his way over to stand by Merodi, as though she was going to run off again. Even so, he kept his narrowed blue gaze on the half-demon. “Stop hurting yourself,” he commanded in response to her hand against her forehead. He’d had enough of being the nurse, first having to drag his deer demon companion away from a rampaging oni, and then needing to awaken a passed-out half-demon. He didn’t need this! Why was he always taking care of these ladies, who couldn’t seem to do anything without hurting themselves?
…that was a good question. Confused, a look of irritated puzzlement grew on his features. After a moment, he resolved the issue with a comforting thought: They’re just crazy, that’s all.

Merodi couldn't help but frown when Koga spoke. Okay, so he did know that, why did he have to yell it? It seemed like he was getting defensive. She blinked, taking in his words before allowing a small smile to come across her face. She was happy because he knew. She would follow him to the ends of the earth if it came to it. Though she was confused on why she would do such a thing. The thoughts passed when the hanyou awoken, watching her spring up and watching Koga stumble back a bit. Her smile grew, holding back her small laugh. It was easy enough, since she was distracted with the knowledge that Sashia was okay and Koga had found her.
"Ohayo. Merodi replied, unfazed by Sashia's awakening. She would probably be the same if she was splashed with water, okay, maybe not the same. Probably freak out a bit more but ah well. She watched Koga as he came to her side, a larger smile coming across her face which she hid from Koga by turning her face for a moment before she could calm the smile. She didn't know why it made her so happy, it just did! And she didn't even bother to wonder on why.
Merodi almost rolled her eyes with Koga's slight command. Stop hurting herself? She was pretty sure that Sashia had meant to bring herself pain. It just seemed like something only Koga would do. And it didn't bother her, not one bit. To her, it was kind of cute....in its own way. Those comments of stubborness and arrogance.

Sashia looked at Koga she smiled, knowing he had tooken her from her damp spot in the forest. She smiled and then had a small blush across her face. ::NO No Sashia,No blushing,Why are you blushing::she thought to herself. "Thank You Koga."she said and then layed back down on the grass. She looked up at the sky and smiled, closing her eyes, still able to see the light through her eye lids.Soon after she opened them once again, looking over at them.

Women… Jeez, they never gave up, did they? Just when Koga had firmly asserted that they were strange, he was proven wrong. They weren’t weird; they were totally, completely nuts! From what he saw from the corner of his eye, Merodi seemed to be smirking. Smirking, of all things! What? She couldn’t have noticed that he was surprised; he was way too good at disguising such things. And that half-demon! She was lounging around, grinning like nothing had happened! You’d think they were conspiring against the honest men of the world. The ostensible victim gave them both suspicious looks.
Ah well. The crazy hanyou was alright, that much had been determined. And she wasn’t about to go busting herself up again; damn it, if she tried, she’d learn what pain really was when Koga beat her up! No, wait, that kind of defeated the purpose… Fine, the wolf demon would go without beating up some psycho half-demon. He sighed slightly, having felt entertained by the thought. Was he going fight-crazy? It had been almost too long since he’s really given anybody a good beating. But he wasn’t going to beat up this half-demon. She could probably do that herself, from what he’d seen of her.
“I guess my work here’s done,” he mused, uncrossing his arms. When had he crossed them? Oh well, probably while entertaining thoughts of fighting. Turning to his demonic companion, he said, “Alright, Merodi, let’s go.” They had a job to do. In any case, he did. Naraku wasn’t going to defeat himself after all. Though that would be nice… nah. Koga wanted to have some of the satisfaction of sinking his foot into that germ’s stomach. He grinned at the thought, though it looked like he was smirking for no apparent reason.
He had bent his knees, preparing to take off into the forest again and head back the way he had come, when Koga rose again suddenly, turning to look again at Merodi. Feeling slightly embarrassed, he remembered what she had told him before: he was too quick for her. Sure, that was pretty awesome, but… He faltered slightly, uncertain, then set off at a normal walking pace that he thought was exaggerated slowness.

Merodi smiled toward Sashia, not really caring how she was lounging about, but the point that she seemed to trust her and Koga enough to drop her gaurd completely. Something that she would never do. Well, except around Koga. She would never have been able to put herself in such a position for anyone else to come and slash her head off. Ah well, people were different. She seemed to be the only one not so trustworthy. The only one that had her complete trust was Koga. Even Ookami had not gained all of it.
Merodi's gaze turned toward Koga as he spoke. The whole while her smile hadn't faltered, and when he said it was time to go, it seemed to get bigger. She needed to stop smiling! Including when there was nothing specifically to smile about! She turned her head to look back at Sashia, lowering her head a bit in a small bow. "It was nice to meet you, Sashia." and then turned her body, ready to follow Koga when he took off.
Merodi was taken by surprise when instead of running at full speed he straightened himself and walked at a normal pace. For a few seconds she just stared at him, too shocked to move before she finally jumped into action and jogged until she was behind him, closing some distance from standing there like an idiot. She felt really happy that he would consider to walk since she wasn't as fast. Though, she wasn't completely sure if that was the reason. For all she knew, he might just be walking because he was already tired from his other run, if that was the case he hid it well. She was pretty sure that wasn't the case but it was just not easy to believe he would slow to such a pace just for her.
