Soothsayer frowned, thinking quietly for a moment. "What you should do is spend more time with your father, make him go outside and maybe he'll bump into someone. There are many songs of romances like that, aren't there?" he grinned, proud of his intelligence.
Merodi frowned. "It happens when least expected, with the person you never thought..." she blushed, thinking on Koga. Soothsayer seemed unhappy with her for brining something like that up. He narrowed his eyes, seeming to pout.
"What's Koga like, anyway?"

Koneko blinked at Soothsayer's advice and smiled softly. When he asked Merodi about this Koga, Koneko blinked.

Merodi became nervous immediately, blushing as she squirmed in her seat on the branch. "Ah, well..." Soothsayer stared at her intently, waiting for answers. "He's...well, everything i'm not." she said with a nervous smile, thinking that would explain and define him. It wasn't good enough for the deer male.
"So...he's loud?"
"Yes..."
"And violent?"
"Well, a little...he's brave, and strong, and gentle, and kind."
Soothsayer sighed. "Hard to imagine a wolf being gentle..."

"Hey, it's not that hard. I mena, we've tamed the wolf to be man's best friend haven't we?" Koneko smiled fondly at Medori. "I'm sure Koga's gentel with you, well as much as he can. He's probably still learning, right?"

Merodi nodded, finding herself content in what she had said and didn't plan to say anything more at the moment. Soothsayer wasn't the one to be content with silence. "Everything that humans have tamed still have the risk of becoming dangerous. In the end, they are still wild animals with nothing but instincts driving them to bite the hand that feeds them."
Seeing the unhappiness that statement brought to Merodi he frowned. "Sorry, I mean people." because of course, not only humans can tame wild beasts. When that still didn't change the expression on Merodi's face he frowned. "What?"

Koneko smiled. "That mybe so, but it's not trigered by nothing. You ahve to care for them, and love them! If you ahte and abuse them, THAT'S when they bite, and growl at you. It's an act of self defense. They're just afraid to ge thurt. Everyone is.... atleast, as far as I know. It's jsut instinct for an animal to protect it's self." She expliane dot Soothsayer, and Merodi. She turned to Merodi. "I hope you are taking good care of Koga, Merodi." She said with a smile.

Merodi smiled, blushing lightly. "I'm sure it's more of him taking care of me, he's strong enough to care for himself, I'm not much help to him."
Soothsayer was bored with the conversation of Koga, and it didn't have to do at all with someone taking his beloved away. He sighed, moving his hair out of his face as he tried to think of a way to change the subject. The only good thing about it was that it made the deer female talk a lot and he knew her to be the quiet type.
Bored with having her lead the conversations, including since it always went back to Koga. He dismissed the thought that it was him that brought Koga into their conversations in the first place. He swung his legs that hanged off the branch, trying to think.
"What's the future like?" Yes, safe non-koga topic! Genius. Soothsayer really wasn't all that interested, if he wanted to know he could know, but he was only interested in the songs not anything else.

Koneko sighed. "Other then the easier ways to hear great songs and music, getting around by travel, and all the technology... it's rather, stale... here, in the fuedal Era, eveyrthing int he world, seems more fresh, younger, beautiful..." Koneko smiled. "If, I had a choice as to where I coudl live, I'd live here, with my family... everyone of them." Koneko looked at Merodi. "enjoy life, while it's still so beuatiful. Because, in the future, it's become older, uglier, and worn..."

Merodi stayed quiet, not knowing how to comment. Soothsayer on the other hand was still bored. He sighed. "I think the technology is great, and being able to form together to create an orchestra was very surprising to see the humans do. I thought only I could make an orchestra."
Merodi blinked, suddenly more interested then her height. "An orchestra? You mean the flute, the flute in the stories are true?" she asked, amazed. Soothsayer tapped his trusty instrument strapped to his back with his hand and she seemed to see it for the first time and was awed by it.

Rin smirked. "That thing ain't just made for music, isn't that right, Soothsayer? That poor Boar Demon sure took a beating from that over grown flute." Koneko snickered at the memory.

Soothsayer laughed. "Just improvisin'." he said with a grin. He liked the compliments and Merodi was awed by the thought of the powerful god in battle. "Lea helped a lot though." He liked his brother, always there for the other god, it was always Sadhor that was the problem. He continued to smile, being smug of the whole thing.
"Lea-sama? The nature god?" Merodi added in with interest and excitement. "There are many stories of Lea-sama." The interest the female deer had in the gods made the grin grow, feeling even more smug. He nodded to the questions. There were so many stories and although the deer female knew of the gods he was sure she didn't remember any of the stories.

It was a rare and beautiful thing, Tempa’s naptime. It came at a damn convenient time, too. It seemed like Koga was, whenever he wasn’t playing with his daughter, was rescuing her from trouble, or taking care of the tribe by settling disputes, hunting, and kicking puny demons that didn’t belong out of the territory. Koga was tired! After staying up half the night before fending off a gaggle of demons who thought they’d steal some prey, the leader of the wolf demon tribe felt he was justified in taking a well-deserved nap. He’d ended up collapsing beside his daughter in his cave home, sprawling beside Tempa and taking up much more space than was necessary.
The wolf demon was shocked to discover that, when his eyes drifted blearily open, his daughter was still dead to the world. He rose with a yawn, which he tried to stifle so his child wouldn’t wake up. He picked himself up and edged away from Tempa. As he stood, stretching his arms behind his head, Koga’s eyes peered around for Merodi. When he didn’t see her, the wolf demon yawned again and then, getting the idea from his daughter’s prolonged naptime, decided to see if he couldn’t steal a little private time with his mate. Clusters of wolf demons chuckled to each other as they saw their fearsome leader tiptoeing with exaggerated caution towards the glittering waterfall that was the entrance to the cave before he leapt out through the shimmering sheet of water.
The cold spray of water banished the sleepiness from Koga’s muscles, and he hopped up on a damp outcropping of rock, finally alert. He crouched lightly for a moment, trying to sniff out his mate, but he couldn’t detect Merodi’s scent. Still, he knew the deer demon well enough to guess the kind of places she’d be, and he hopped off the stone ledge to zip off in the direction of Merodi’s meadow. When his mate’s soft scent finally entered his nostrils, Koga slowed to a trot to follow the scent-trail left behind by her every footstep, by every place her skin had brushed against something.
He thought he heard her gentle voice, raised in an inquisitive tone, floating on the air like the musical notes she sang. And he thought another voice joined hers, speaking to her. [brown]What or who is that?[/brown] Koga wondered, and jogged lightly along Merodi’s scent trail. His eyes, which focused on the ground so he could follow the faint indentations of her footprints, flitted around as he saw other footprints join his mate’s. [brown]What the--?[/brown] Who was Merodi seeing? In an unusually calm mood, Koga found himself curious about whatever was going on. But his eyes were on the ground; he didn’t think to look for his mate in the trees, even when her scent was overpowering. He paused underneath the boughs of a tree, lifting his eyes to stare around in confusion. It smelled like he was right on top of her! It didn’t occur to Koga that it could be the other way around. [brown]“Merodi?”[/brown] he inquired of the seemingly empty air. [brown]“Where are you?”[/brown]

Merodi blinked, looking down and surprised to see Koga just at the base of the tree. She had been so interested in what Soothsayer was saying to be paying attention. On the other hand, the deer god had been watching the wolf out of the corner of his eye. His smugness dissipated and a foul mood replaced it. He looked down with a frown on his face as Merodi's turned into a grin. Talking as she had been and having another deer made her feel like she once had when a child long ago.
The child that used to hide in trees from her father; who would sing inappropriate songs when things were quiet. All that had changed in such a short time. And suddenly her past was catching up with her; another deer, the gods, the stories, the music, everything.
"Koga, up here!" she called out, leaning forward and almost falling before Soothsayer grabbed onto her arm. She seemed unphased with the fumble and waved down at him. "Tempa still taking her nap?"

Koneko's ears flattend when they saw Koga, out of habit more then anything. The fur on them was standing on end too. She had a feelign this guy may not like her that much... She went to pull her hood over her face, but, if this guy was anything like Inuyasha was... he could SMELL her half-demon blood. Either way, she pulled it up anyways and climbed higher, to the next bough up. She was also a abit shy around men, but thta really wasn't the case. Wolves were known to be quite territoiral... so she had NO IDEA of how Koga would react.

Looking up with surprise in his widening blue eyes, Koga saw his mate leaning precariously out on a tree branch, grinning down at him with a happiness that he rarely saw in Merodi. Beside her was another deer demon, holding onto her arm, and crawling up to a higher branch was what smelled like a hanyou. The wolf demon’s first reaction was almost alarm, but he saw the look on his mate’s face, and realized that these two intruder’s weren’t harming his mate in any way. Still, Koga was naturally a little leery of the pair of them, but… well, Merodi seemed happy. Which was a rare thing in and of itself, so Koga, to justify his uneasiness, thought to himself, [brown]I don’t like the way that male’s touching my mate.[/brown]
Still, Koga called up, [brown]“Yeah, still sleeping like a rock.”[/brown] For a moment, Koga stood there, not sure what to do next. As a wolf demon, he liked his feet firmly planted on solid ground. He didn’t like the idea of hopping around like a squirrel in the trees. Even so, he wasn’t going to be the only one left on the ground. The wolf demon bent his knees lightly, then sprang up with an uncoiling of pure power, leaping up to another tree branch. As he landed, a shudder went through the branch, and the damned twig nearly bucked him off! Still, he regained his balance and crouched on the bough. He was a little higher than the two deer demons. Deciding to ignore the half-demon for a moment, the wolf demon stared intently down at Merodi and her… friend. [brown]“Who’s this?”[/brown] he asked her, feeling a little jealous. Another male, spending time with his mate!
