Merodi paled instantly when she realized that Koga had never taken the jewel shard from her. Of course, she had handed him the jewel, but had never taken it...then...then...then what happened? Oh no! She must have dropped it somewhere! She felt horrible! How stupid could she be?! How could she forget about something so important as a sliver of the jewel?
Of course...she knew how she forgot. Including when her only thought had been Koga. She had been worried about staying with Koga that she had completely forgotten about it. And with all the other things that had happened...she did not remember it until now. Why did she have to only remember it now?
It was amazing how it seemed Koga-sama had distracted her from something as important as the jewel shard. She winced with his question. Though he didn't yell really loud, the irritation was there, and the guilt filled her and practically overflowed. "I..I must have dropped it..." she stated, small tears pricking at the sides of her large brown orbs. "I'm so sorry Koga...it's all my fault..."
What a way to start a morning! Including the first morning of traveling with Koga-sama. What an impression she continued to make. A more impression on how useless she was. She couldn't even hold onto a jewel!! Merodi absent-mindedly placed her hand on her left arm, wincing as the pressure of her grip made the wound sting. Should it still sting like that?
For a moment, she had completely forgotten about the jewerl shard...again, when she turned her head to inspect her arm. The dried blood clung to her skin, and a scab had grown over the cut. But for some reason, it didn't seem right.
What was she doing worrying about something as small as that stupid cut!? There was a lost jewel shard that she needed to find! Until it was placed in Koga's hands, that jewel was still her responsibility. And so, without another word she began to walk in the direction in which she remembered chasing after Koga and collapsing on the ground.

So… she did lose it…
Damn!
Koga’s eyes shut and his eyebrows knotted, and he could feel his anger rising. That was one hell of a stupid move on Merodi’s part! “Must have dropped it…” Yeah, it just so happened that this thing she dropped was the most priceless jewel of all ages, something so powerful and dangerous that it could very well destroy everything that everyone cared about, everything that Koga cared about! Hell, because of her dumb move, they were both in danger: him and his deer demon companion.
The wolf demon turned to face said deer demon, having it in his mind to tell her exactly how he felt about all of this, when he saw the tears that glittered in the corners of her eyes. Those were enough to change Koga’s mind, and even make him regret his rush of resentment. He glanced away from her, letting out his irritation in the form of a sigh, before he glanced back at Merodi, and his eyes showed that, yeah, he was annoyed, but not so much with his companion as with the predicament they were now in.
It was an almost placating look.
“Alright, you screwed up.” However, it seemed that Merodi was walking off again. Shika… thought Koga as he hurried to catch up with her. After a half second, he was at her side, matching her step for step, and continuing what he had been saying. “But we’re gonna find the shard, and this whole mess’ll be behind us, alright? It’s not a problem if it gets fixed.” Unconsciously, he placed a hand on her shoulder, a motion that was intended to comfort her. Little did he realize that it was Merodi’s injured arm.
Was that the smell of dried blood?
Well, he did realize it now, and he glanced down at the deer demon’s wound. “That ain’t supposed to happen…” he murmured, his forehead beginning to crease with worry. Didn’t a normal demon’s wound heal pretty much over night? The long cut hadn’t seemed to be terribly bad, so shouldn’t it have cleared up? Even half-demon pieces of crap like that Inuyasha could heal from a battle within a few days, even quicker for him because he had the miko Kagome and her magical healing supplies… But that was beside the point. With a minor wound like this, healing should have been no problem.
Deciding that he would take care of that after he found the jewel shard, he turned his gaze to the ground, finally letting go of Merodi’s shoulder as his sharp eyes scanned the grass. After all, he might have been overreacting. It was the deer demon’s first major wound, after all…

Koga was mad...he really had to be. And so she was quick to try and find it. But even as she came back to where she was sure she had last felt it in her hands, and scanned the ground she couldn't find it. Or it was eluding her somehow. It might have just been dropped just right where you can't see it unless you get on your hands and knees, and she really didn't want to do that. It would make her seem so pathetic to Koga-sama. But, of course, she would rather get on her hands and knees to find it then him to do it.
Merodi glanced up at Koga as he came to her side, speaking in words of comfort, even when it didn't really help. Yes, if it gets fixed. But what if she couldn't find it? What if someone, or something came upon it? Of course, she didn't dare state such things to him afraid to make him angry.
Merodi winced, his hand on her shoulder rather close to the wound on her arm. But of course, even then the gesture warmed her. But it seemed that Koga had seen her wound. When he spoke, her brows furrowed in thought. Its not? It wasn't supposed to happen like that? She frowned, worried over the wound a little less then Koga. She was happy enough that he was worried. Merodi brought her hand up, her fingers gently touching the closed up wound.
Sadly, the only reason it was like that was because she hadn't thought to clean it. Such common sense had left her for her wounds had always been taken cared of by someone else. And she didn't bother to ask why they put water on her wound. Even now, she had thought it only normal.
But Koga had said otherwise, so now that she looked at it, maybe it wasn't good. Maybe she was going to die!! Oh kami, she shouldn't scare herself like that. She decided to drop it for now. There were more important matters to take care of.
As she watched Koga search for the jewel, she was reminded to do the same. She walked away from Koga, searching more ground for where she could have dropped it. She barely payed attention to how far away from Koga she had become. She was even now out of eye sight. Her eyes, her whole attention was on the ground, searching for that small twinkle from that jewel.
So eluded was she that hit her head and fell back from the force. She blinked a couple of times, her hand over the bump that was now forming. Wait...she didn't hit her head....there was nothing to hit her head on...so, then....?
Merodi slowly looked up, trying to find what the heck hit her, but nothing was there. She slowly stood up, wary of her surroundings and yet thinking nothing more of it, to dismiss it entirely. Once she was back on her feet, however, she felt the presence of another looming right behind her.
Koga...?
She turned her head, eyes widening to see a large figure barely inches away from her. She went completely still, her mind going blank and she could do nothing but stare at the creature. It's fangs were bare as he snarled down at her and its eyes were blood shot red. It's skin was a sickly green, and muscles bulged in its arms and torso. The yokai was huge! She was going to die! Merodi made a move to run, and the demon clawed at her back, sending her to the ground with four large claw marks oozing blood from her back.
Merodi let out a yelp in pain and as the yokai took a step toward her she was quick to get back on her feet to dodge another swipe from the demons claws. She moved to the right, but fell on her face, slipping on the blood that stained the grass. She felt sick to her stomach. To slip on her own blood...
Oh kami such thoughts were going to make her feint again...
((ah, I couldn't help but bring the demon in XP Poor Merodi, now they'll have to go see Kagome))

As Merodi began to wander away from him, Koga just assumed that she wanted to split up so they could cover more ground. Actually, that’s not a bad idea, he admitted to himself, and he turned in the other direction. Quite unlike the deer demon, he felt no qualms about getting on his hands and knees to find the jewel shard. He proceeded to crawl around, sifting through sand and patches of grass where the shard could easily have gone unseen. Stupid deer… always screwing things up… The wolf demon sighed, exasperated. Sure, they’d get through this, but looking for the shard was no less of a pain.
His sharp blue eyes narrowed as he looked up from the ground directly by his hands, squinting as he scanned the ground ahead, looking for an abnormal glimmer to catch the sunlight. Let’s see… tall grasses, uniform brown dirt, a pile of pebbles, more dirt, more pebbles, more grass, a tiny shimmer, more grass…
Wait, was that a little glow he saw? Excited, Koga’s eyes quickly located that spot again. That had to be it! Scrambling forward in the dirt, his bare skin rubbing against sharp shards of rock but him hardly noticing in his hopeful anticipation, he reached forward, and his hand closed on that shimmering artifact. Finally! He brought it up to his face and--
--stared blankly at the little diamond he held.
“Oh, screw that!” Koga exploded angrily. He glared furiously at the deceptive little rock. “You wasted my time, you know that? You stupid, shiny little worthless piece of--” The wolf demon drew back his arm to throw the gemstone sliver away, but the yelp of a certain noisy deer demon made him hesitate. Merodi? What now? “Probably twisted her ankle or something…” the wolf demon muttered discontentedly. However, his luminous eyes betrayed his anxiety. Had she reopened her arm wound?
He sprang to his feet, regardless of the minute scratches on his knees. Stupid shika… Couldn’t take her anywhere without her getting injured. Hardly aware that he was still gripping the diamond sliver in one fist, even though it was gouging a new tiny cut in his palm, he took off, that same uniform dust he had been searching through exploding in huge brown clouds behind him. The world whizzed past in a kaleidoscope hardly perceptible in his peripheral vision, though a very narrow range of clear sight remained. The wind whipped past him; or, rather, he sliced through the air, and he could feel the ground shiver beneath his every step.
Arms pumping at his sides, the wolf demon sped in the direction from which he had heard Merodi’s cry. Knowing that she would be somewhere close, he put on an extra burst of speed, the area that he could sense clearly becoming a slender tunnel. In the span of a few seconds, a wall of disgusting green loomed in Koga’s vision, and the scent of blood rushed at him through that narrow window of clarity. And, in those brief nanoseconds before the wolf demon knew he would reach that hulking monstrosity of green flesh on steroids, there were three facts that were completely clear to him:
1) There was a big green youkai in front of him.
2) Merodi was somewhere beyond that youkai.
3) That youkai must have hurt his companion.
There was no time for thinking; there was only room for action. Koga hurled the sliver of diamond at his opponent, not even remembering the sharpness and hardness of the particular gemstone in his desire to chuck missiles at this green beast (though perhaps that was going to be to his advantage). A heartbeat later, the wolf demon stood directly behind the green youkai. “You’re in my way, shit-head!” he roared, and, digging his right toes into a soft patch of earth, he pivoted, swinging up his left leg, aiming one hell of a roundhouse kick at the youkai.

Merodi knew she was going to feint. She also knew she was on the verge of throwing up. It was a pool! A pool! Okay, not really, it was a puddle, but it was still her blood that she lay in. It was warm, sticky, and was staining her clothes. She took in deep breaths, staring up at the yokai as its laughter bellow through the small area. She shivered, fear reaching every fiber of her being, from her head to her toes. She could not look away from the red-eyed monstrosity that was a demon. It wouldn't mind eating something like her, would it? No, not at all. She could see it in its eyes, she was on the menu today.
Merodi was about to pass out when she heard an all too familiar voice, and the demon who had been looming over her was sent flying ten feet away. Well, such a sight woke her back up. She stared in shock as the yokai rammed into a tree, splitting it in half which sent it falling on top of its head, imobilizing it for the time being.
Merodi's eyes were wide and her mouth opened as she gaped at Koga who had sent said demon flying. She brought herself up on her knees and used her hand to move some her hair away from her face, smearing blood on her forehead. When her eyes fell on her hand in which she had used, seeing it was completely covered in blood she screamed.
((short, but thought it would be a good idea to stop my post there))

Koga spent only a moment assessing the damage to Merodi. Well, there was enough blood on the ground (which had to be Merodi’s, since she wouldn’t have been able to wound her fat friend who was currently sitting literally under a tree) for the deer demon to paint a nice little picture. That damn demon! This couldn’t just be her arm wound reopened; for this much blood, she needed multiple wounds (or a limb ripped off, which was clearly not the case). The wolf demon turned his attention to his new target for kicking practice.
Merodi’s scream made him turn, tensing even more so that he could spring on a new enemy, but the deer demon was just staring at her hand as though it had grown a head. What now… Then Koga realized that her palm was dripping in a thin coating of blood, and she had gotten some on her face. Was that all the matter? The wolf demon gave her an exasperated look, then returned his attention to the puke-colored youkai. “If you’ve got a problem with blood, look the other way,” he ordered; he did not plan to let this demon off lightly. If it was lucky, it might escape with a few broken bones and a skull half crushed.
But Koga was not feeling so generous today.
“Alright, you bastard…” the wolf demon growled, a guttural sound. “Let’s see how you like it.” With that being the only words he had time for, because the brute would be regaining mobility in any second, Koga raced forward, hard feet hardly doing more than skimming the ground, feeling the air being whipped aside by his body and feeling the gritty texture beneath his feet blur into smoothness by his speed, and in a heartbeat was in front of the youkai again.
The next moment was pure sensation: body twist, fit lift off the ground, pivot, aim for the head, bend knee, bring foot close to body, and extend! Foot was whipped out, kick aimed at demon’s head, but should he miss, Koga was already prepared to rebalance for another strike.

Koga was right. She did have a big problem with blood. The metalic scent overwhelmed her and the feeling underneath her fingertips, on her knees, and on her back left her no where to run to. She was stuck with this blood. All hers. That yokai must have cut deep into her back. Very deep. Even with Koga's order, she had a hard time looking away. As if the blood that dripped off her hand was hypnotizing her.
But it wasn't that...She couldn't see straight. She couldn't see. She was panicking now, for her eyes were blurry and everything began to look back and white. Her head hurt horribly, and the only thing she could hear was her heart beat pounding in her ears. Merodi tried to look at Koga, but he was only a blur. Only by instinct did she know it was him.
Merodi was about to call out to him. Tell him that she couldn't see, she was scared. Nothing like this had happened before. But the blur that was Koga zipped away and she was left with her mouth open, as if she was going to yell. She was shaking, but because she was so afraid. Why couldn't she see? Why did her body feel so numb? Why couldn't she hear? Koga's words had seemed to be miles away, and it was feint.
What was going on?
The things that Merodi could not see, nor did she even care about at the moment, was that the demon was finally up on its feet again, tossing the tree to the side that had kept it from moving. Of course, as soon as it had done that Koga's foot made contact with its head and it was once again sent flying. The yokai twisted before it landed on its feet.
It didn't falter in its stance, there was not even a headache from Koga's attack. The yokai let out a battle cry and ran forward, its using his arm like a club planning on smashing Koga into the ground. Though powerful, it was only a simple oni with not even the intelligence to speak.

The big brute might have had a brain the size of a pea, but damn was he strong! Koga quickly returned his foot to the ground, regaining his balance with the ease of long practice, but it appeared that no damage had been taken by the big oni, for that’s what this fat bastard was. And here he came again; the puke-colored demon came lumbering back, swinging its arm barbarically. Great gods, was it going to use its arm like a club? The wolf demon had a few seconds to decide what to do against this rather strong opponent, but that was more than enough.
Koga might not have been the type to figure out much in the way of life, but when it came to fighting, he was on top of his game.
The wolf demon kept himself light on his toes, waiting for the huge cretin to lumber closer. Gods, that thing is slow as hell! he thought distastefully. Koga could have easily, almost too easily, have run up to him before he was able to swing that overstuffed arm and given him a good kick where he wouldn’t have liked to be kicked, but the chances of that successfully bringing the oni down were too low. Who knows, maybe he doesn’t even have anything to kick, he thought with vague amusement in the last second before the big bastard reached him.
Then he was there, and the huge arm, which, as it turned out, was being used as a club, was crashing right into Koga. Deftly, so quickly that he was sure the ogre wouldn’t see what was happening, he reached up with his hands and grabbed the disgusting flesh of the oni and slid slightly to the side a heartbeat before the full pressure came down. And then the wolf demon was on the ground, the weight of the oni’s arm having definitely hurt him. He landed heavily on his back, even though the full force of the blow missed him by an inch, maybe less. Half-dazed as he was, the wolf demon still stuck to his plan, more out of old practice of battle tactics than mental commands.
Koga’s right foot shot out to hook itself around the oni’s ankle, in an attempt to trip him. Right after that, hardly realizing whether or not he connected, the wolf demon rolled away from the oni and hopped to his feet, hardly a foot from the big green bastard, and prepared to strike again and again, as many times as he would need to bring this bastard down.
[OOC: Sorry if this is crappy, I don't play many fights. T_T]

Merodi was losing it. Well, she had lost it a few moments ago, but now she was being a bit hysterical. She saw nothing more then black and white, and her she felt as if her ears would explode off the top of her head. She gulped, the sound seeming to echoe in her head, her ears seeming to pop as he jaw moved. She blinked, tears coming to her eyes with the fear and the confusion on why all this was happening. Blood loss, maybe? Was that it? Was she going to die because of it? And where was Koga?! Why wasn't he here with her?
Of course, she knew why. She bit her lip. She wanted to call to him. Wanted him to explain why all this was happening. Koga...Koga, Koga, Koga!! She bit her lip harder, trying to not make such thoughts form into words. No, he was busy...she could wait, right? She could...wait...
Before such a thought passed through her head she shifted and collapsed on the ground from her sitting position. Her breathing became frighteningly loud, as if she was in a large room with no other sound. Where every small movement was heard. She hadn't feinted...though she felt it would be better to feint then lay there in blood and know you're laying in blood.
On the other hand, with the oni all of Koga's planned tactics were a complete success. It tripped, but caught itself and yet stayed still with every other blow that Koga brought at him. When it seemed that such attacks had seized the yokai got to its feet, a small chuckle which formed into a booming laughter and Koga's worthless attempts. Once such laughter was out of its system it took a chance to step forward and quickly claw at Koga.
((I've had that happen to me once...whats happening to Merodi. It was so scary O.O))

What a nuisance this bastard was turning out to be! It hardly even went down when he tripped it! Koga’s brow furrowed in annoyance; none of his little plans, which he thought were so clever, seemed to be working. His brain was less fuzzy than it was when the oni had attempted to pile-drive him into the ground, and he was at least aware enough to hear the big oaf laughing.
Hold the phone… was this big cretin honestly laughing at him?!?
Koga ground his teeth together, anger reverberating from every single muscle. Did this giant shit-for-brains think he was better than him? His vibrant eyes glared up at the youkai, shining with pure wrath. First, he thought he could waltz up and wound a poor, innocent deer demon for absolutely no reason, and then he starts laughing at a demon who is clearly stronger, faster, and smarter than him? His arms were shaking; the wolf demon realized that his hands were clenched into tight fists, and that his muscles were straining against his flesh, eager to work against the oni who would dare show such insolence.
The beast stopped laughing, and then it was lumbering towards him again, its arm floundering as though it intended to claw him. Is that what he wanted? Well, fine! But Koga’s legs were tense beneath him, ready to leap away should he need to. However, now was not the time; the oni could get what it wanted. Feigning weakness, the wolf demon threw up an arm to shield his face against the oni’s claws.
He felt the nails rip through his flesh, and he gasped at the pain. He was hit harder than he thought he would be, and already blood was spurting from the slashes. Arm shaking even more than before, Koga knew that he didn’t have time to dwell on the pain. There were more important things to take care of, such as this bastard. So what if the wolf demon had miscalculated the oni’s strength behind the clawing attack? The oni had miscalculated Koga.
He crouched beneath the blow, allowing his arm to take the full blow, and then swung up from beneath the ogre’s arm in a swift arc. He was there for only a moment, then he launched himself upwards, until he was just about level with the oni’s face. The need to end this quickly burning in his brain, Koga’s fist, the uninjured one, flicked forward, straight at the oni’s nose. If he had aimed it right, and the oni didn’t manage to move away, he might be able to smash the bones in the oni’s nose straight into his brain.
A move like that was one that could kill. He needed to kill.

The demon was happy to know that its attack had made some damage on the wolf demon. If anything, such an attack should have sliced the wolf's arm right off. Ah, well, at least it could relish in the scent of the wolf's blood. Maybe it would have two demons to eat instead of that one scrawny deer. The demon was brought out of its reverie when Koga shot up and punched it in the face. The oni lost its balance and fell backward, lying on its back a gurgling noise coming from its mouth before it was silent.
It was like that for a few long minutes, before the power of a certain shard molded its nose back into place and left it spick and span for another death attack. Slowly it brought itself to its feet and another laugh escaped its throat just waiting for Koga's next attack.
Back to a wounded shika yokai, Merodi was getting impatient. She knew she shouldn't call to Koga, thinking that he would come to her at any moment until he was done with that demon, but he should have been done with it a while ago. She didn't want to stay laying on the ground anymore...but even so, she didn't want to be a bother to Koga now that she was wounded as she was. But she knew she would....
Aggrivating as it was, she could do nothing about it.

Koga landed on his feet, panting. Finally, this damn oni had gone down. Seeing its face crushed in like that, the wolf demon felt quite justified in saying he’d defeated it. It was about time, too. His blow delivered, he realized that he had to get back to Merodi, and he also had to keep looking for that jewel shard. He turned around, but swayed slightly on his feet. Well. That was unexpected. The wolf demon lifted his wounded arm and stared with distaste at the deep claw marks, powerful even for a comparative weakling like that ugly bastard. Sighing, he took a step in the direction towards Merodi.
A throaty laugh made Koga stop, rigid. He felt every muscle in his body go stock still; even his heart seemed to falter. What… the… hell…? Stiffly, he turned around to see none other than said ugly bastard on his feet again, apparently gloating about the fact that he wasn’t dead yet. A look of revulsion and fury crossed the wolf demon’s face, and his eyebrows knotted again. That should have killed you, he growled mentally, glowering. And look! You’re not even wounded…
Realization finally dawned on Koga. Don’t tell me that this bastard has that jewel shard! Ah crap, Merodi, look what a mess you got us in!
The ogre was laughing at him, goading him into a fight. He wanted a fight? He’d get a fight, though Koga still felt confident that he would win. After all, the oni wasn’t the only one there with jewel shards. The wolf demon adopted a look of utter seriousness as he turned to face the puke-colored bastard. His blazing blue eyes scrutinized the big ugly beastie, trying to figure out the answer to one simple question: Where could this bastard be hiding his jewel shard?
Then again, there was always the alternative method to finding it.
Giving a feral grin, Koga looked the youkai straight in the eye. He knew how he must look like a madman, what with an arm bleeding and hanging limply to one side and the light of battle in his eyes. But then again, he liked that impression. It wasn’t too far from accurate.
This oni’s got the head of a boulder, he thought. I like to break boulders.
For a moment, he swayed lightly on his feet, then suddenly, he wasn’t there any more, sprinting to the side at a rate almost too fast to perceive. He had felt himself take off, gouging deep marks in the earth as he exploded off the ground, and now he aimed for a tree, planning to use it to ricochet back towards the oni. When he reached the trunk, he felt his legs swing up, and then he launched off the rough bark powerfully. He was dimly aware that he had shattered the trunk; he could hear the crack, but it was behind him now, and he was racing towards the oni.
Finally, he leapt upwards, and then flicked a leg forward, aiming for the neck. If this went right, he just might be able to blow the oni’s head clear off his shoulders, and then he could start hacking apart the body to find the missing jewel shard. If this didn’t work… Koga supposed he would just start hacking anyway.

The oni was taken by surprise as Koga suddenly was out of his vision. It scanned the area and saw him sprinting in a completely different direction. Hah, maybe the little wolf had given up, and knew it was beaten. Hah, how weak. Of course, how shocked the oni was when Koga was suddenly propelling himself toward the yokai. It was easy enough. The oni hadn't even thought to dodge until it was too late. Koga's foot forced its head up before a loud crack coud be heard, skin and tendens ripping as the oni's head flew off its shoulders and rolled to the side.
Even then, the oni moved, blindingly thrashing its arms before it lost its balance and fell to the ground. As his arms thrashed, and the muscles bulged from beneath the flesh, a slight glimmer of the jewel shard could be seen peeking up from beneath the flesh of its right arm.
((argh, shortness XD I like my dumb oni buddy..I'll name him Nu! haha, and Merodi doesn't get to be in this post because she's not really thinking or doing anything ^^))

“Hold still, you bastard,” muttered Koga as he landed, stumbling slightly. Crap, his arm was really starting to hurt him… It was probably because that damn oni had a jewel shard and it made his attacks more powerful. “Nngh,” the wolf demon grunted, wincing as another spasm of pain swarmed up his wounded arm. Come on, Koga, pull yourself together! You’ve gone through way worse than this!
Only now did he notice that he actually had successfully blown the oni’s head off. “Oh… That’s good,” he said dumbly. “Yeah. Okay. Hacking time.”
Koga’s katana was rarely used; it was more of a decoration than an actual tool. However, it did come in handy when it was hack-whatever-moves time, when he couldn’t just beat up his opponent. After all, beating the jewel shard out of the headless bastard would probably take too long, and he didn’t have that much time. Undoubtedly, the head would be coming back to rejoin the body in a minute. And so, the wolf demon drew the blade with his uninjured hand and walked unevenly towards the thrashing body of the oni.
“Stop squirming, cretin,” he ordered, though he doubted the oni would listen. And, lo and behold, it was still thrashing its arms. “Fine, I’ll just cut these off,” he muttered, and raised his katana. He was about to start chopping away clumsily at the flailing appendages when he saw the tiniest glimmer sticking out from the ugly, sickly-looking skin. “Oh,” the wolf demon muttered, looking stupidly at the jewel shard. He was about to start hacking anyway, just for the sick joy of it, but then he decided against it and slid his katana back into its sheath.
Trying to shake off the lingering dizziness, which was finally starting to dissipate, Koga hopped around, trying to avoid being crushed by a pair of clumsily flailing green sausages. “Stop that!” the wolf demon demanded. Nevertheless, he ducked down and reached forward to pluck the shard from the twitchy bastard’s arm.
[OOC: Short on words is fine. I’m just short on muse. =P]

Koga's words weren't even heard to the demon, who was kind of panicking to know that its head wasn't attached to its body. That kind of thing could do that to you. But even so, he continued to thrash and wave its arm about, hoping, just hoping that it would get at Koga and take the wolf demon down. Of course, when you can't even see there was little to know help in doing such a task. It looked as if it was drowning in water for that matter.
Once Koga's hand gripped the small jewel shard and the yokai jerked away, the tiny sliver came free and in an instant the yokai stilled and died on the spot. Laying lifeless and limp on the ground....
Merodi had finally got impatient enough to get to her feet instead of laying there any longer. It took a while, each movement sent a fierce pain through her back but she finally stood, her legs a little shaky. Laying there as she was, her sigh had finally cleared but her hearing was almost completely shut down. Nothing could be heard but her own breathing and her heartbeat.
It was hard to stand. Her legs bent just a bit and her arms feelings useless at her sides, and her back was bent forward just a bit. She took in her surroundings, the dead demon, and Koga. Good...the demon was dead. Koga was alright. Something in the pit of her stomach told her that it was her fault. All of this.
The shock of seeing his arm, and the wound that it held brought her sudden adrenaline, the wound and the pain completely forgotten at that moment as she ran to his side. Once she reached him, she scanned his arm again before bursting into tears. "Koga, I'm so sorry, this is all my fault! I'm sorry....so..." The adrenaline given to her in his expense wore off, her legs no longer able to hold her weight she fell forward against Koga.
"...sorry..." she muttered, to finish her sentence, and to apologize for falling onto him like that. But she had no control over her body anymore, it was hard enough to stay in the world of the waking.
((I think its fine))
