As soon as he heard Merodi’s apologetic voice, Koga glanced up, feeling slightly exasperated. Hadn’t he said it was okay? After all, they got the jewel shard in the end; the problem was fixed. And now she was looking at his arm with the same alarm that most would give if it had been ripped out of its socket. Besides, it wasn’t entirely her fault… Though he would never say it, and only grudgingly thought it, he supposed that he could have probably done something or other that would have prevented this whole fiasco… Then, as he remembered the blood on the deer demon, he regretted even assuming for a second that he had no part in this. He could at least have been there to protect her, so she wouldn’t have gotten injured.
He was just about to hand the shard back to his wayward companion when, inexplicably, she collapsed on him. Instinctively, Koga stretched out his arm to hold her against his chest. “Easy,” he murmured, concern growing on his face as his arm brushed against the blood that spattered her back. His eyes burned with momentary anger, directed at two beings: the oni, for wounding Merodi… and himself, for not being there when she needed his strength. “It looks like you’ve lost a lot of blood,” he observed, the anger suppressed momentarily as worry returned.
Trying to hold her, and also trying to avoid brushing to hard against the long gouges on her back, Koga said, in an almost fierce tone, “Hang in there, Merodi. It’s not your fault. Just hold on; you’re going to live.” His own pain, his own dizziness, his own exhaustion: they were all paling beside his growing anxiety. “Look, I have your jewel shard.” Wondering if it would do any good against these wounds, the wolf demon tried to force the shining sliver into his gentle companion’s hand. “Take it.”
“And I’m the one who should be saying sorry,” he murmured, in a voice that was half thought, half whisper.
[OOC: Thing is, it took me a half hour to come up with. If that isn’t brain dead, I don’t know what is.
We're just ripping through pages here, aren't we?]

Merodi closed her eyes, allowing her weight to push against Koga as she barely stayed on her feet. She didn't mind at all to lean against him as she was. He was warm, and comfortablt surprisingly. She was too weak to even think of how close she truly was to him. The thought of her leaning against him as she was, of how intimate it could be, the thought never came to her. She could barely even think anyway.
"mmm" was her groggy reply to what he said. Lost a lot of blood? Yes, that could be true. She didn't have enough power to move her mouth, or to form actual words. Merodi took in a deep breath, the scent of Koga entering her nose and making her thoughts even more hazy then they had already been. Though how she didn't know why.
He smelled like a...a male. Well, of course he would, but she had no experiance to how men were supposed to smell like. But if she had imagined something, it would be exactly as Koga smelled. He smelled good. Though his scent was mixed in with his blood, which made her a little sick. Though, laying in her own blood she was starting to get over it.
Merodi barely even listened to what the other things Koga said. But she did hear jewel shard. He told her to take it, but she would not. If she could speak any more then an 'mmm' she would have told him that it was his now. She couldn't take it back. It wasn't hers any more. But, even so, she couldn't even hold it. Her arms were limp as of now.
Merodi's ears perked up as he whispered. She didn't know how she caught it. Maybe it was the point that she was so close to him, but somehow she was paying enough attention to hear his words. She didn't know why he should say he was sorry. It was her fault. All her fault.
"no...." she shook her head as much as she could before she completely passed out, her weight tilting to the side where she did not lean against Koga any longer, and instead would hit the ground. It wouldn't really matter, she wouldn't feel it anyway. Though she probably would wake up with a few bruises.

An automatic reaction to Merodi’s slipping off him, Koga reached down and caught her before she could hit the ground, forgetting about his own pain for the time being. Her body fell softly into his strong arms, and he could feel her body hanging limply in his grasp for a moment, before he was lifting her up, pulling her close in a protective embrace. “You crazy deer,” he muttered, his voice approaching the softness of his companion in his arms. “You’re gonna end up killing yourself if you go on like this.” Despite his words, his blazing gaze seemed to dim slightly as he gazed down at her body in his arms, against his chest, and he looked worried.
Not only did he look worried, but he felt it, too. What was he thinking, letting the timid deer demon wander off by herself? With her clumsy deer-in-the-headlights approach to an enemy, he should have known better than to leave her to her own devices. After all, his tribe wasn’t what it used to be; they could no longer guard the territory against scum like a lumbering oni. And now, since she’d passed out, Koga wondered if it was possible she could die because of his mistake. “Hang in there,” he growled fiercely. “Just hang on!”
“And take the damn shard!” he added, pressing the shining jewel sliver into the edge of one of the long slices in her back. Blood began to spill out onto his hand, but Koga didn’t care. He pressed the ragged edges of her skin together, willing the blood to clot over where he had put the shard, so that she couldn’t go ripping it out again. Still holding her close to his chest with one hand, he pressed that area of her back with his other, as though he could get her wounds to heal by brute force.
Of course, it wasn’t really working.
That was it, he had to find someone who would be able to heal her wounds. Problem was, the only person he could think of that would be able to help Merodi was Kagome. There were a few reasons he didn’t want to go to her. For one, he had no idea where she was. For another, she always had that piece of shit Inuyasha clinging to her like a flea. It had never stopped him before, though. Koga was sort of trying to think of reasons why he couldn’t go to the miko, but when he realized what he was doing, he stopped.
What’s wrong with going to find Kagome? he thought, and swung Merodi around so she could hang from his back. He leaned forward slightly, hoping that the deer demon wouldn’t end up tumbling over backwards, and gripped her legs, planning on giving the unconscious demon a piggy-back-ride to Kagome. Of course, it was the most logical way to get her from place to place, but he wasn’t so sure if she’d thank him when she woke up.
Well, whatever. She’d just have to deal with it.
[OOC: Do you think I should make a post in a random place of him looking for Kagome, or just go find her (wherever she is) and say that he did all that?]

((the second one. You'll have to start a thread, and then pm her to join, and Rin too(can't be Kagome without Inuyasha) because the thread they are at is in the middle of something. So we got to Pm them to join the thread that you start...or they can start it XP
And while we do that, I'm going to post one last time, even if there would be no point to it.))
The power of the shikon jewel did help. The bleeding was finally stopping, and the wounds were scabbing over. The problem is, is that the jewel could not replace the blood that she had lost. The slashes on her back were closed, but any movement, the bending of the back, would reopen such wounds.
Merodi slept in a deep slumber. No dreams, nothing. Though, after a while, she felt as if she was moving, no, more like she was flying. Even without opening her eyes she began to take in her situation. She could feel Koga's hands on her legs, and could feel his back pressed against her chest and stomach. Her cheek placed at his shoulder blades.
Where was he taking her? Ah, it didn't matter. Not at that moment. The point that she was so close to him, that was what mattered. In such close proximity she could take in his scent without having him suspect a thing. Including since he thought she was still sleeping. Of course, before he could suspect anything she had fallen back to sleep, lulled by his scent and the warmth of his back.
((I Pm'd Kayka (Kagome) for whats going on, I could do the same with Inuyasha if you like))
